I had a 2” body lift on my old z71. It showed the same amount of frame as my stock 2500hd. Not really a big deal.
The enormous giveaway is the exposure between the frame of the truck and the box
@@Derec rough country makes rear fender liners that will cover the gap.
Also if there is oem rear fender liners on the hd+ versions of the same year, they'll probably work too.

Hey derelict, you said yours came with bigger blocks in the back but I’ve seen people complain about just getting a block that was meant to stack on top of the other block. Did they update their rear blocks?
The blocks must have been updated because the rear block was replaced with a single block in the rear
A body lift is best if your mechanically inclined.. most shops don’t like messing with them because of the time it take that’s why the crazy labor cost....depending on the kit you shouldn’t have problems with the spare tire like a zone kit but the only problem from body lifts is cutting the frame for the brackets to fix the bumper gap😅
But also body lifts do not add clearance
@@Derec suspension lifts don’t add much either I though. The tires is what adds most of the clearance right?
@@Derecthey add tire clearance in wheel well. Bigger tire = more ground clearance. It's an accumulative effort where all things make a difference and effect one another
With the combined price of parts and 2 separate labor costs, you could have gotten a BDS 6" installed. Remove all that and just go with BDS.

I have a 2012 that I don't believe has any lift. Possibly a leveling kit, but I only say that because it sits level.
There's a spacer between the spring and perch that's about 1 inch (I would assume factory), and there's no strut spacers up front.
One of these days I'll try to find a part number on the front struts and find out for certain, but as far as I can tell the PO did no lift.
It's sitting on 33x12.5 on 22 inch wheels and I get zero rubbing anywhere, even under compression.
When I check with tire sites many say 33's fit on stock suspension with no trimming required. Other sources say you need 3.5 lift for 33's.
There doesn't seem to be any clarity to be had.
3 inch block lift and 2 inch wheel spacers you can fit 35/12.50/18 my has no rub

LOL funny cause one of my buddy brought this 3.5 without the UCAs and he’s loving his. Stuffed 35s on his 20s and cut the plastic trim wheel wells. No complaints. 3.5 lift is a pretty decent height. Least for me to make the truck look aggressive.

I appreciate you showing this. I am trying to get 37s on my 3.5 rough country lift and I have cut about as much as you can out of the inner fender. I think I’m going to have to add the body lift.
You are welcome, once I acquire 37s I will probably require a 6 inch suspension lift and a 3 inch body lift

All I wanted to say was going with a big suspension lift is the better route to take!
I did a custom lift on my 04 Silverado, bought just keys and shock extenders for the front, then 4 inch blocks for the back, raising it 2 inches front and back to keep a 1 inch rake. Going to get a 1.5 body lift for it next year. Doing it all myself except the alignment is gonna run me a total of about $400 for 3.5 inches of lift, compared to buying a 4 inch rough country suspension lift, which is $1000. Angles aren't bad at all either.
I would work on increasing the suspension lift instead of body, but sounds like a cool rig

But to achieve the real heights would require a suspension lift

Body lift for a 33x12?
I fit a 33x12.5 by just doing the NorCal mod.
And it’s leveled with 2.5”
I also have offset rims
That’s all you have in the front is a body lift
I put 4" suspension lift and 3" body lift and my 35×12.5R17 fit just fine on my 2008 Silverado 1500
sounds like a cool set up but I think a full 7" suspension is better in the long run
What 4" Lift did you use? i Have a 2011 Silverado 1500 and I run 17" Rims as well but my Local shop told me i need 18 inch rims to even lift the truck?
@@tommyjay504 they probably mean an 18 cause the kits that widen the track width your 17in wheel will rest on the bigger knuckles trust me I found out the hard way.lol I installed a 7-9 in mcgaughys kit on my 07.5 silverado and put the factory wheels and tire on to go get alignment but the wheel and tire was literally resting on the new lifted knuckles so I had to get a .5 in spacer from bora to get them off the knuckles
Did you have any steering problems or wires being extended with this body lift
luckily the height of the body lift did not put a damper on brake lines or steering components

The body lift does not effect the geometry of the suspension
