    Great video, I love that you show mistakes and how to fix them. I've seen some people that you never see mistakes but you know they have some. I've learned a lot from your videos thank you. Keep them coming. What a great instructor.

    Hey awesome videos/work! Ive watched almost all of them, you have taught me a lot! Can I make a video request? A ghost lure (see through) would be awesome!

      Branden123456 I dont have any ghost patterns to paint. but basically a ghost pattern is using transparent paints and no white base coat.

    What pressure did you spray the white.? I usually spray black with florescent under and I can never get it to go completely black..maybe my air pressure is too high and it blows the paint around and don't look very cracked.

    Wow.. awesome work! I'm just starting out and would like advice on airbrush paints for lures. Do you favor some over others? I see you mentioned Michaels crafts. Dumb question, but what kinds of airbrush paints can you use? There are aisles of the small paint colors. Do they specifically have to say airbrush paints? I'd imagine some may clog the airbrush?
    Specific to airbrushing they carry Createx and Testo brand. Any good? Thanks and love watching your work.

      Bob Bainbridge if you email me at mike@luremeincrankbaits.com I can get you a list to get you started. Also I started a Facebook group page called Brotherhood of Custom Crankbait Painting. It's not about showcasing your work but to give step by step tips, tricks and painting processes on painting baits

    I am just getting started and have watched almost all of your vids. Awesome work!

    Sir - first off, GREAT video's and incredibly nice work. I reviewed this post and then attempted it myself (step by step - 4 separate times but could not seem to get it to 'crackle'. I'm using Createx Opaque black base and Createx Opaque white top coat - same Crackle medium as shown in your video. Any suggestions? Thanks

      @luremeincustompaintedcrank3818  8 лет назад +1

      For some reason, not every brand of white works. I use Golden Brand Titanium white. Also give it a good coat of white

      Thanks for your reply and many thanks for your tutorials. I'll try the Golden brand.

    Would this be possible without an airbrush? Could you paint the 2nd color on with a paintbrush or would that screw up the crackle medium? I carve my own lures and think this would look great on them. Thank you.

    • @luremeincustompaintedcrank3818
      @luremeincustompaintedcrank3818  8 лет назад

      +Logan Loosbrock I think it would be better do it with an airbrush so the paint doesn't go on too thick but it may be worth experimenting.

    Great vid (and pattern!) have you tried transparent colours over the black and white crackle base? might give you more colour options? :-)

    • @mrbilky
      @mrbilky 9 лет назад +1

      mh68 Yeah was thinking the same thing transparent orange to a burnt umber or browning thing would really look awesome!

      mh68 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE TIP!!! I have tried using a color OTHER than white but it wouldn't crackle but if I use a transparent OVER the white the colors are endless.. Thanks again!!

      Lure Me In Custom Painted Crankbaits no worries, love your work :-) I do the same with some scale effects - spray basic white scales over a black base, then blend transparents over the top, works a treat....

    Sorry this is an old video. But are these the steps?
    1. Paint the bait the desired color
    2. Put the crackle solution on
    3. Paint over the solution with normal airbrush paint?

    • @luremeincustompaintedcrank3818
      @luremeincustompaintedcrank3818  6 лет назад

      Just follow the steps as in the video. After white paint is sprayed on you can spray transparent color color if you wish
