    You don't need J2534 for bi-directional programming.
    ForScan + OBDLink or V-Linker scanners can both do programming and confiruration of modules (and they aren't J2534)

    Hi, thanks for the detailed video. I have a VW Golf 2015 and am looking to invest in a scanner that will allow me to mainly (1) Set Electronic Parking Brakes when changing pads and (2) see live data and (3) read error codes. - I am a beginner and will not be doing anything sophisticated. Which one in this video would you recommend for me as a minimum? Look forward to hearing from you. thanks.

      Hello either OBDeleven but you will have to pay for credits for doing parking brake operation, or if you want one without any extra cost than xtool A30: ruclips.net/video/vMJN7XJ03hg/видео.html&t

    When you do the ecu coding, do you recommend to connect the car battery to a charger? How do you personally do it?

    • @iamcarhacker
      @iamcarhacker  Месяц назад +1

      Usually I don't but I keep an eye on battery voltage (every scanner will show you) and you don't want to do any coding if voltage is less than 12V, even like 12.2-12.3 is kinda of low and I would use charger if I expect coding to take long time

    hey my friend, great video. I bought OBDELEVEN next-gen for my 2024 Skoda Enyaq, 85x (UK car)
    I can not get it to work, I have connected support they told me they do not know why, as i sent a video in the support chat showing what i am doing.
    They just said they do not know why, they will let me know if they figure it out. I think i have possibly faulty device. I ordered basic original OBDELEVEN 1st gen for android to see if it connects to my car. Then I will know if faulty for next gen.
    Have you any ideas why it wont connect? Or do you have a recommendation for alternative OBD2 for unlocking features in my car. Like vehicle in motion?
    I do want to learn more coding as i want to fit front camera to my car but it needs coding, so when I understand how to do it then I will install it.
    Many thanks

    Is there any standard Phone OBD Dongle outhere, which can connect to other, as the engine ECU for multiple car makes? ^^ I think not. Never found one. Only for a few chosen car makers is that possible. Never saw a Dongle, who can connect to ABS or Airbag ECU for multiple car brands universal.
