You need to densify with a lithium densifier before using a 200g even if you’re starting with that. This hardens the cream cement layer on top and stops you exposing aggregate. If you don’t do this, sand particles are dragged out the surface and catch in the pad basically turning your 200g into a 50g which is why you’re exposing the aggregate with this pad. Densifier is remarkable stuff. The American stuff I think you’re referring to is probably GFRC, it’s typically far stronger to normal concrete, up to 8-10,000 psi, 3-4 x stronger than normal concrete, it’s a bit of a faff though. I do counters 50-60 thick unless they’re cantilevered. I use 6-8mm limestone and fine washed sharp with a small amount of kiln dried.
@@derekrobertson1548 I’ve used various, Carr Crete, Spektrin and unbranded. It’s usually £30-60 for 5L but it goes a very long way. Unfortunately it’s not supplied in smaller quantities as it’s usually used for large areas like floors. I would google it and find the cheapest 👍
Thank you for these comments as all this is news to me I’ve never heard of lithium dendifiers I’ll have to google it see what it is. Thanks for the input 👍🏴
I’m glad to of helped you along the way btw I’ll be doing another countertop next week hopefully and I’ll be doing it slightly different as learned along the way 👍🏴
Hands that's do dishes feel as soft as your face, with mild green, fairy liquid......ffs how fookin sad am I remembering that shite🤣🤣🤣🤣lovely job though mate👍

Can you recommend a brand of lithium densifyer. I would not need much probably just enough to cover a couple of square meters.

That looks the nuts nice and natural finish english way

They use epoxy resin for counter tops rather than concrete which could be what you were talking about. I like the look of epoxy over concrete
Great point! The epoxy is a awesome material it’ll cover anything 👍🏴
a nice coat of resin with silver fecks be nice on that
That’s for the next one something like that 👍🏴
Tidy,
Could you get in a man to sandblast the worktops so you don't have to expose yourself to all that dust?
Great job mate, enjoyed the footage
Great idea and next time I’m definitely using a better mask system as those masks are crap as crap can be 👍🏴
Not sure about the wall tile… 🤔 Love the counter top though ❤
It’s there rustic look with some modern appliances 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping ah cool tiles probably look better in person.
You could have put fibres in it as well.
