They look great Scott and that mix would make a great counter top, they'll be people up and down the country digging out their old gin bottles and brown ale bottles now to give it a go! Excuse my ignorance, would you mix all the different aggregates together and then portion that 4 aggregate, 2 sand and 1 cement? Also that sand seems to be a red color so you would need something similar I guess.
Might give this a go matey, as a carpenter I think I could make a pretty fancy chamfered mold. My worry though is polishing it up, is there any significant risk to breathing in powdered glass? I know you wore a paper mask but not sure if that would prevent me coughing up lumps of meat haha
The top surfaces should be sloped to shed water at not less than say, 10deg. Without it water will hang on the top and it will get green and slimey very quickly. Also, there needs to be a throat under the edges all around to prevent water backtracking to the pier where it will cause ugly staining running down the pier. I am surprised that the formwork was built effectively upside down as it was obviously difficult to tamp..
Fantastic idea Scott and they look lush .see you monday 👍
