  • CSX W993 was a nice surprise in the evening hours of May 30th, 2018 on the Abbeville Sub. Dedicated high-and-wide loads do not show up very often here. Three more trains are also featured, but were of the more familiar kind. Enjoy!
    Note: This video has been recorded and produced in 4k Ultra-HD resolution.

    Fantastic video! Although there are no more those extensive manifest train like Q616, 667, 676, 675, 614, … and R, S type trains but your catch is still great with strong and beautiful engines.

    Thanks MBMars you started of at my favorite location Howie siding. A couple of times when the horn blew you could hear an echo I liked that. What was on the cars at the end of the video unusual to see just three cars. Home from work not feeling well. I appreciate your videos

      @mbmars01  6 лет назад

      You're absolutely right. The echoes at Howie are simply awesome. It's definitely one of my favorite sidings on this line.

    NE Harper siding looked a bit uneven like it was gonna roll the engine...yikes! at speed that would be risky..loved the last train..JJ Abrams style lens flare :)

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  6 лет назад

      Speeds are low in the sidings, looks worse than it is. Yea, I knew that a W993 was coming, but I didn't know what loads he had. I like these depressed cars with transformer loads.

    It's rare to see a high-and-wide train on the CSX Abbeville Sub, right? Also, I not have much time to involve at home tomorrow as I have to go to Oxford Learning. Anyway, this train is W993-27 (E. Savannah to Stilesboro), right?

    how many trains should I expect to see in Austell a day

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  6 лет назад

      If Inman Yard in Atlanta isn't clogged, you can see 2-3 trains per hour in Austell. Afternoons can be a bit slower at times.

    Awesome footage as usual! Could I ask about the average length of Q610/611 manifests? Sometimes they look relatively OK, but often they are just a bitter reminder of the former traffic on the Abbeville Sub. Great catch of the transformer loads! Have a happy & safe 4th of July!

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  6 лет назад +1

      Q611 is often very short (10-20 cars), but its length varies depending on the weekday I guess. Q610 is of rather typical manifest size. Don't ask me why their lengths are different, but it's probably because they switch several yards between NOLA and Hamlet. Enjoy the 4th, too!

    • @mbmars01

      This is the CSX Abbeville Subdivision stretching from Atlanta, GA to Abbeville, SC. The locations where I filmed are always mentioned in my videos and easy to find on Google Maps.

    Is this the first time you caught Schnabel cars?

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  6 лет назад

      These aren't Schnabel cars, but depressed flat cars. Schnabel cars have way more axles and can, therefore, carry far heavier loads.

    • @Nojaru
      @Nojaru 6 лет назад

      mbmars01 I thought I saw eight axles on each car

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  6 лет назад

      That's right, but the American version of the Schnabel car has 36 axles...
