    9:20 _"Not on your _*_original_*_ Capital's continent."_
    Presumably that means the capital doesn't change for the purposes of these policies when playing as Dido.

    • @Marbozir
      @Marbozir  5 лет назад

      It does. Dido is an exception and this is one of the best strategies when playing her. (the devs themselves used it on a livestream in fact)
      "Non-original capital" applies to a situation, where your capital gets conquered.

    • @jamma246
      @jamma246 5 лет назад

      Also, funny thought-experiment:
      What if Dido's capitol was captured and moved to another city on another continent. Then would the above rule hold, so that those policies only apply to the original continent? Or perhaps they move automatically (which is what I would think should happen, but bet won't, because you won't have completed the project). Or perhaps the "original contient" stays, until you change your capitol with the project. If so, and you want your "new original capitol" to be in the city which already is the new capitol, are you allowed to complete the project to make that "official"? I can guess how it _should_ work but I don't have much faith that it's been tested to work how it should.

What wonder gives engineers a +1 charge? In my experience land units are the way to go. Air and Sea are really bad. I mostly play continent maps though. If you get 3-4 land units with upgrades and a battering ram and/or 2 seige units, its over.

      In Gathering Storm, trade routs get a 'transportation bonus' for going over certain tiles, potentially up to double if the entire trade route is over such tiles. Early on that's only water, to illustrate that its easier to transport large amount of goods by ship (and that's another reason why you might build canals), but railroads and mountain tunnels also provide the bonus. In this particular case where all his cities are coastal and his trade routes probably mostly go over water anyway, the only reason to build railroads is likely strategic, but for a landlocked empire it might seriously boost your trade routes.
      All this is how the devs said it worked on stream, some details (like the precise amount of the bonus) might change by release.

    • @thetwistedoak1
