- The new 2013/2014 BMW R 1200 GS - it certainly is more powerful, more comfortable and more technically advanced. 125 horsepower and 125 Nm make it the most powerful and the fastest GS ever. Please watch in HD.
And indeed - the new R 1200 GS is fast. Faster than ever before. Throttle response seems a bit improved but the biggest difference I found was in the way ESA works in the new GS. Now it really does the job - giving a wide range of adjustment and really noticeable changes in the way bike's suspension works. I believe that the soft setting gives much more pleasant ride than before. Legendary GS' ability to turn without any effort is something people love about all members of the GS family and it's no difference with the new 1200. The way it handles curves makes you smile every time. Fancy LED and projector (à la new Mercedes-Benz CLS) headlamp gives the bike a unique appearance. Another thing you quickly notice is BMW's comeback to traditional indicator switch located on the left side of handlebars. However, it is too far to the right so that some of us will have to reposition the hand while trying to reach it - that's the issue I faced during the ride. The seat can make you slip to the front and end up very close to the tank. It is not as big of a problem as in Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 but annoyed me and I would suggest choosing a touring seat if BMW sells some. Other than that - the bike is very close to being perfect. I honestly love its new design. I liked the previous generation but it seemed a bit too rough. Now it's quite pretty - especially looking from the side.
Thanks to Liberty Motors Łopuszańska 36, Warsaw for providing the bike.

I love it too :). Great bike!
beautiful city V-Told!!!!. First time I saw this video
Thanks for mentioning and the city can be both cozy and quite exotic in some places.
@@VToldsMotoShow I bet.
Great bike! :)
Please read the despription ;). Unfortunately, I cannot help you with finding an answer to you question about GS' behaviour in deep sand or off road simply because I haven't ridden it in such conditions. Anyway, some of the feelings may differ between riders but I'm sure you know that.
But your comment made me think about making reviews in addition to such general overview. Thanks! I'm currently working on such thing with '13 R 1200 R.
PS: It doesn't sound that great - listen to my DL 1000 ;)

MIKROBI219 Dzięki i miło to słyszeć! :)
Nice good video, love the colour, had my BMW GS1200 TE now for 18months love it, a few flaws but can't see me getting rid of it as it has all the good bits from every bike I've ridden and put it into this one fantastic machine. keep up the great reviews.
I really wanna try it so much..
Jezdzilem nim w zeszly piatek na dniach otwartych BMW w Krakowie. Chyba juz wiem co kupie :D
I love bmw
BTW nice bike I hope one day I will have it in my garage. Did you had good time in Poland?

hello, whats le name of music?
That's an interesting story because in fact we became friends with the cops and later arranged a test ride on the new GS for one of them. That guy rides Africa Twin, so they were interested in what we were doing and at the same time - probably had to take our details. But we didn't get any tickets :)
whats your opinion on the ducati srambler, can you do some videos with it? I'm thinking to get one and it is going to be my first bike, just love the way it looks.
+pr0gi The Scrambler is not my type of bike and so far I haven't even seen it in person. Therefore I cannot really tell. Perhaps I'll manage to get it for a few days this year and see how it does.
I guess there's not much to complain about with the Concours 1400. There's still a lot of the old GS in the new one. At least it seems so!
Still waiting for Adventure model.....
your town is very pretty , where is it ? poland ?
Yes, it's Warsaw - the capital city of Poland. It was a while ago and it's significantly more crowded nowadays with a large influx of people.
I've had this bike for about 6 months, same color and everything, except mine is the 2014 model. It's extremely agile for a bike it's size. all that weight is so low that it feels like you're riding a super motard, and i'd know because I rode one for 10 years just before I bought this.
Though it's not all sunshine and smiles- The power is a little disappointing and the gear ratio's are a little short, so you have to shift a lot. It's a comfortable bike, but the seat camber is bad and forces you into the tank. I'm still looking for a way to fix this.
It will no doubt put a smile on your face each time you ride it (or even look at it) as it is a gorgeous looking bike (and a pain to keep clean) but it's by no means as perfect as they make it out to be.
Right, your feelings about the GS are almost identical to mine. I think the center of gravity that contributes to being so agile is because of the type of engine - much of cylinders' weight goes to the sides instead of going up high. But yes, the experience you get is as if you were riding a much smaller and lower bike. Also, I find the seat issue to be quite annoying. The only solution is to replace of modify the seat. But it's not as uncomfortable as Super Tenere's "sliding seat".
V-Told A sliding seat! That is very novel. I'm glad to see it's not just me having issues with the seat. I was beginning to think it's my bad posture on the bike, I always find myself shimmying back and lifting up my bum lol.
It doesn't really cause pain, it's more of an irritation. If you ever get your seat fixed, please share on what was done and how it feels, I will likewise.
You're not alone in that battle. If I find something that doesn't suit me, I immediately blame the bike. Never had such issue on anything else except the Yamaha so it must be the case of a seat design too. Now I believe it's better to take the seat to someone that knows what he's doing and let him work on it and customize it. No need to buy an aftermarket one as you'll spend a lot of money and still may not find the right one that would get on with your bottom. Perhaps some more foam should be added at the front part to move it upwards a bit to prevent sliding. That's my guess :)
V-Told As far as I can tell, more foam in the front would only provide more cushion for the inevitable slide forward- the real problem starts at the back when your bum compresses the foam down to the "bad" angle of the base plate which in turn makes you slide down.
I think you would have to put some really hard foam in the front (extending to the middle) to counter it. The ideal solution would be to chock-up the base of the seat on the tank side imo.
From a very young age I have always ridden far up on the tank- it's actually supposed to be the proper way to ride, but when the seat forces you down to where you are not just "hugging" the bike but constantly forced into the tank. It's a real pain because when you are riding on highways, you don;t want to be tank-hugging and you need to relax a bit.
It looks like. You're The Greatest. shake grin What's your opinion about
+Harry Robertson Opinion about the R1200GS? Very good, stable, easy-to-handle big bike that looks fantastic as for my taste. I'd only exhange the boxer engine for a deep-sounding V2 or a nice and powerful inline 4 engine.

So in conclusion....
It sounds good, it looks good, and foreigners love it.
How does it ride? how does it do offroad? in deep sand?
Pfft, who cares? because it sounds grrrrreat!
The new GS has "stolen" the sound of the KTM....
i had a 700GS in driving school. In my opinion these bikes are too heavy. also the are rated as enduro bikes but i cant imagine going off road with such a heavy bike.
+Gilliboy I checked the 700GS and BMW claims that it weighs 186 kg, which for a street bike is not much at all as for my taste. Of course there's no comparison with true cross/enduro bikes that weigh barely over 100 kg. Then yes, this is a huge difference.
V-Told 186 is dry weight. 209kg says wikipedia. I have a MT07. It feels MUCH lighter and is not so huge (maybe another reason). It weighs 182 (with gas and everything). Also Im not the strongest guy.
Is that a Playmobil bike ? And what's that horrible sound ?
