Hi, I think the Beowulf? Sounded the best. Everyone is different though on what they like. Actually, the New Jeckle and Hyde Cans sound the best that I’ve heard. They have a Button at the Handle Zbar you can push, to go from Quite, 50/50, and full open. They don’t Void the Warranty either. I really like the way my R1200Gs Sounds Stock. I’m a Disabled Veteran and grew up Racing. I think the quietness of the GS Stock keeps me from wanting to go as fast as I used to. I actually like being able to hear Nature and just enjoying the Ride. To each his own though. It’s all about what makes you the happiest. I hope everybody has a Great Year on their Bikes. See you on the Road.👍👍
In the real world with cost, and removable baffles, the most budget friendly, nicest sound for me would probably be the beowulf can. £700 for a can just seems a little much!
Great test! Really enjoyed the video. I would like to ask you if there would be any problems fitting the 1250 Akrapovic Euro 5 (the 1st one tested in this video), on a GS 1200 LC (EURO 4 or EURO 3 model)? It fits OK mechanically, but would it cause any temperature problems (different diaphragms) or it's only about emissions and DB sound? Needs any ECU AFR corrections? Thanks in advance!
I've got the 23/24 R1250GS and a pretty good set of speakers on my Laptop. I still think the stock pipes on mine sound better than most of those which sound choked or breathless by comparison. Maybe there's a different standard between UK and New Zealand and we're allowed louder here. Overall I wonder at the point of the test without the baffles removed which will be the way most owners will have them - or they wouldn't buy an aftermarket exhaust would they.
Midlands Motorbikers it would have been awesome advertisement for them to be compared with "normal" exhaust systems but at least you tried contacting them 🙂
Great video. Considering the video, for me the stock exhaust is the best sounding of them all. However, theres one i would consider changing to, the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde exhaust. Its the best exhaust in terms of sound i ever heard on any GS.
can't quite figure out how the same rider has to look down at the gear lever before selecting a gear, then looks over his shoulder before riding off - on a narrow one way road where he's already stopped in the middle of it. Another point is that the comparo suffers from a different lever of throttle opening and RPMs when shifting, he's quite soft on some of them, on others, he's flying.
@@MidlandsMotorbikers I have a new 1250 on order coming within the week and cannot decide on can. I would agree the SC sounded the better of the bunch. And real life will be even better I guess. It’s just a strange noise out the box . 😂😂
@@MidlandsMotorbikers Regardless of cost, I think Fuel sounds the best, AND it’s the easiest to remove/replace the baffles. Have mine on it’s way over to Tennessee now.
My Dr Jekill and Hyde sounds deep, throaty and fantastic! Unfortunately it costs twice what all these do and is electronically tuned to the EMU for three different sound modes- Jekyll, Hyde, and Dynamic. But beautiful piece of kit.
Thrilled with my Dr Jekill and Hyde exhaust. Sounds much better than all tested but will put a deep hole in your wallet. Of these I would likely choose the Remus.
Excellent comparison video James. A pleasure dealing with you and thank you for including our Termignoni and IXIL Exhaust options 🙂
Thank you for being part of the video!

Thank you for the comment and we love the Jekkle and Hyde exhausts also - it’s a great concept!
Wow dude, what an exceptional review! Thanks for all of the effort and knowledge!
Very welcome and glad you enjoyed it :-) please subscribe for more videos coming soon
Well done on the video James. Thank you for including us in your comparison. :-)
Thank you for being part of it - it’s a stunning exhaust and sounds lovely
I would choose the Fuel exhaust as I love the look and the finish. Also sounds great
@@nigeltankard6977 thank you! ;-)
Great video guys. Surprised that you didn’t include the Yoshimura and the HP Corse in the comparison though.
Thank you but they didn’t wish to be involved
@@MidlandsMotorbikers Thanks. Look forward to more videos on the GS
A great overview and has helped me make the decision! I think I'll give the SC Project a go!
It’s an incredible exhaust (now the baffles are out)
Nice review! I have the Remus 8 in black with the baffle out. I’m looking at the Vance and Hines High Output for my next slip-on!
Thank you for watching and let us know how you get on with the Vance
Termi or Beowulf. What a great review bud, best one I've seen for sure!
Wow, thanks! Really appreciate the feedback
Agree with your verdict, for the short term until I've saved up the pennies drilled some small holes in the backing plate of the standard can.
Thank you Eric

TBH the stock exhaust sounds the best, but it could look better.
It is true, the stock exhaust does sound very good, but everyone likes something a little different nowadays
Really enjoyed your video. Where did you get the SC-Project exhaust?

Very good review. Lot's of info,, thanks for posting!
Glad it was helpful!

No issues at all, it’s all the same fitment and fitting and only based on emissions regulations and if the baffle is removable or not
Tremendous video!
Well thank you very much - don’t forget to hit that mighty subscribe button
For me the two UK cans were top for sound time would tell what holds up the best of them all
I will actually agree that they have the best bark for the bucks
The lower baffle on the SC Project looks like it's trying to remove itself at 7:11
Well spotted!
I have the Akra on mine (it came with it) but I would prefer the SC since it has a much nicer chape and size.
Very much agree
Also I do know how to type shape ;-)
Really interesting vlog, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it

Check out the cobra exhaust middle of the rd for price titanium comes in at 600 and it sounds very nice
Great video keep it up
Thank you for the input - we will check it out!
have you ever reviewed PRO Race
Pro Race Titanium Oval Exhaust for BMW R1250 GSA 2014-2021?
Hi Stuart unfortunately no we haven’t yet will be looking to do another video in the future
Which one works best as a rain gauge when the bike is parked out side in the rain
That’s an interesting question….. please explain what you mean?
Jekkyl and Hyde is missing from the list unfortunately :(
Otherwise Remus is nice. Gote one myself on my F800gs Adventure
We did reach out to Jekyll n Hyde but no response :-(

Termignoni for me as it look mega on my bike 😁
Suited your bike perfectly mate
it’s a really hard bike to get sounding good .
Honestly, the SC project and the Fuel exhausts were the best for me and make it sound awesome

I’m glad to hear this, mine gets fitted wednesday!
How much did it cost?
I liked the SC Project but I didn't care for it at idle.
In this video I will agree - Sounds a lot better with the baffles removed
Fuel sounds best for me.
It does sound great!
Can you fit euro 4 sc project to 1250 from 2021 ( euro 5 ) ? Do you think error will pop up ? I prefer the euro 4 version because of removable baffles
Yes you can mate with no errors
No full Arrow 🙄…go on, do a stand alone with full Arrow, headers, link, the whole shahbang 😜
End can comparison video, not exhaust. Akra headers, gets rid of the troublesome flap, stock silencer = best sound...
Thank you for your opinion :-)
Akrapovic of course….
It’s a sweet can
Acrapovic has nothing to do with a wig. It’s pronounced Akrapowitch.
There are so many other ways to pronounce it lol
Stock is the best, extra noise is for teenagers
That’s the great thing about these different models and options - horses for courses
