Again, another great video! Using all these Dutch drills with my teammates! Thanks again bud! You're the man! I appreciate you sharing your knowledge, what you learned, and sharing it with the world!
Hey, you are more than welcome, I am really glad you have been enjoying the vids and find them of use in your own training. I really enjoy these drills so it is a pleasure to share!
Great vid. Super clean explanation. I like to often start the whole counter with inside low kick, which is almost always available on the opponents lead leg when they step forward - and then go for the combi’s.
Do you have any videos on basic introduction level tutorial classes for Dutch style? . Such as basic class, or basics of what you teach on the first day with new students, and what do you do with beginners? I’m having a hard time trying to gage. As in basics to intermediate
i dont mean to be off topic but does someone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Chaim Ariel Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and im in the hacking process now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hello, Your tutorials are the best. Can you please start posting some videos about fight strategy and how to prepare for a fight; that is, physical preparation, etc.
Cheers, that is really nice to hear, much appreciated! Let me know what you think of the others when I put them up going forward, I am trying to do them on a regular basis now!
This was nice to watch for details on basics there , imo is more , one that I didn't know about was the long hand to left lead hook, that's great. You get to do it your own way. The rear cross lead hook messes with some people. I like the idea of stepping off most of the time but stoping and changing lines that's a great way to do it! Upper cut. I use enough arts to where creativity is never an issue those are great drills and I love drills. Liked and everything. I really enjoy counter fighting myself. I'm not as good as maybe I sound I don't mean to be overly prideful good content.
Great content! Could you do one on retreating after throwing a hook? It is a little harder in muay thai/mma being at a closer distance and worrying about punches, elbows, knees AND kicks (and takedowns for mma but im more focused on the standup)
Hi, really glad you enjoyed this video! Here is a link to one on this channel from Robin Shepherd and covers Shadow boxing from a Muay Thai perspective. I hope you find it of use! What do you mean by unorthodox striking though?
Stuart Tomlinson i mean being totally different from most common well fighters using different combinations that fighters rarely use for example (1) jab, double cross, hook uppercut (2)cross, jab, cross, jab, double hook
That combination is a recipe for disaster eg uppercut to a rearhand cross is biomechanically inefficient in the middle of an already long combination. No one trains like that because the risk/reward ratio makes it worthless. Plus this is kickboxing - where's the kicks?
there's not alot of content on Dutch kick boxing great vids.any suggestions on gyms over in Amsterdam love to train over there my appreciations in advance :).
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed the vids. You are right, there is not a lot of stuff on the Dutch style, hence why I thought I would do some myself! You will be spoilt for choice if you are going over to Amsterdam. Within easy distance of pretty much anywhere in the centre are Vos Gym and Mejiro Gym. Mike's gym is just on the outskirts going North and is a short bus ride away. Any of these three would be my recommendations in Amsterdam at present. There are other good ones but I know these personally having been to each of them so speak from experience!! Let me know if you need any other help!!
Stuart Tomlinson thanks for the reply one last thing just Chinese whispers but heard the Dutch can be a bit funny teaching foreigners their techniques from your experience is there anything to this much appreciated and looking forward to your future videos ;).
lewis Andrew being Dutch and training in Amsterdam gym, I have never noticed a different approach to foreign trainees. There are many expats that train in Dutch gyms and get the exact same attention. There is a lot of 2-way respect regardless of background. Many gyms to choose from and would personally recommend trying at least 2 or 3 for comparison. It’s important to find the one that fits your preference and style if you want to progress fast :)
I am 100% sure there are people who throw the jab better than myself, I hope you enjoyed the video irrespective of my poor execution of it!! Thanks for watching!!
I love Kickboxing

Stuart, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You're killing the game.
Thank you so much from France. Basics but complete and efficient As you said to cut off your opponent aggressiveness.

Excellent video Stuart like the switching stances and moving at different angles very good!!!
I am just a big fan of movement and countering footwork in my coaching. The feet have to be right in order to be effective in striking!!

You have a multitude of tools that I can apply
perfect.thanks.
Would appreciate a kicking on the retreat tutorial, thanks for this one anyway
Good video
great
If you fast fast hard hands and great footwork from forward like a fast sport car.
Hands and feet have to work together all the time to be effective in combat sports that involve striking!
thanks
You are welcome!

Very unorthodox switching stance
What is really "Dutch kickboxing"? It is just a part of Muay Thai.
jab not executed correctly.
I am 100% sure there are people who throw the jab better than myself, I hope you enjoyed the video irrespective of my poor execution of it!! Thanks for watching!!
