    Sorry but it was a bit annoying how you kept pronouncing 'premier' as 'premiere'.

    Fast track security would seem to be the biggest difference between classes - given that seat, meal and lounge are all available with Std Premier and Amex Platinum. Once upon a time they used to include a free fast track pass when you joined Club Eurostar.

    • @FlyManYann
      @FlyManYann  Год назад +2

      Fast track makes a huge difference, especially in London. You can get it with Carte Blanche too but that requires a fair amount of spend. As much as I hate queueing, I don't think I'd spend the extra just for the fast track.

    agree, Standard Premier is the sweet spot. If you book in advance, it's worth it. Last minute booking gets very £££. As well, the waiting area in St Pancras is ALWAYS packed because of the train before yours. Once they board, then it's empty again, so if you don't have a AMEX Platinum (for the lounge), don't arrive too early.

    • @FlyManYann
      @FlyManYann  Год назад

      Yep exactly - booking Standard Premier in advance is the key. The first time I tried Business Premier was on a booking made a few days before departure and the Standard Premier price was only £30 less.

    My first trip to London, and I thought about paying for the business class because of the long lines. My legs are not as young as they used to be and I do not want to waste my vacation waiting around for three hours on a line and willing to pay the extra money. Life’s too short. Great video!

    Hey man, first time watching a video of yours. Love your attention to detail and sharing this back with us. You make sure to cover most questions people will have. Would like to see more videos in your style (something like “48 hours in Paris’ where you could cover hotel, transportation, restaurants etc). Back to the video, I felt standard was fine for me when I took Eurostar from London to Paris a few weeks ago. I stayed at the connected Renaissance which was super convenient and ensured I got breakfast covered so I didn’t need to eat on the train. It’s only 2 hours so it goes by quick. Luckily I got a seat at the waiting lounge.

    Great video. Poor forlorn Yann waiting for the cocktail bar to open. 😬 Looks like a great trip, though. I've been on the Eurostar to Brussels, and can agree that the waiting area can get really crowded. Thanks for your video. 🌟

    I travel to Brussels once or twice a month and always go with Standard Premier. I've never had a problem changing dates as long as it's not on the day. Until you reach Carte Blanche the queues are annoying but not double the ticket cost level of pain. The on train experience is almost identical. The St Pancras business lounge is often packed and very cramped sadly.

    'm really torn on this... Yes, BP isn't cheap, but I think you're underplaying some of the benefits. It's fair that the overwhelming benefit is the flexibility. Okay. I may be a niche audience here, but I find the lounge access really worthwhile (particularly in the hell that is known as the 'Hall Londres' at Gare du Nord. I am also a fan of the free-pour champagne.

    For me, it’s not worth the upgrade for this trip because it’s fairly quick. I must’ve gotten lucky because when I took the trip, the queue for security was virtually empty. I traveled on a weekday evening, so that probably explains the difference in volume. I was in standard seating and I was very happy with what I got for the price. The seat was comfortable. I brought my own food and water. The Wi-Fi was solid. I was able to charge my devices with the power sockets.
    If you’re looking to save money, just go for the cheaper option and bring your own food. It’s an absolute steal to be able to country hop for as low as £39.

    Is there a tsa security like airports with xray on luggage and people passing through scanner and belts and all metal stuff?

    • @FlyManYann
      @FlyManYann  8 месяцев назад

      Yep exactly, you have to go through security - bags through the x-ray machine and humans through the metal detector. No liquid rules though, you can bring big bottles.

    212 miles? It is not 212 miles, more like double that in km. By road and through the tunnel it is 450km, in no shape or form it is 212miles by train.

    That's an awful lot of alcohol for a quick Paris train trip, man. You might want to change something here.

    • @simonnicklin1313
      @simonnicklin1313 9 месяцев назад +2

      👍 Absolutely. These vloggers knock it back like it's going out of fashion. For health conscious times that we live in, Airlines/ First Class rail vloggers seem not to understand the dangers associated with binge drinking or drinking this quantity in general. That much alcohol raises red flags
