I'm traveling to Asia next year so I went looking for this flight, but sadly it's 1000 usd on any date :(

The Qatar business class has always been excellent even 20 years ago, but I am not a fan of the Q Suite since you feel boxed in like a confessional box and it’s rather dark and dingy. The 787 is more open and spacious as is the A380 business class.

I think most budget carriers now require that you purchase speedy boarding in order to bring an overhead bag, which would be why so many people also had it. I personally find the planes are normally quite uncomfortable, and I've been stuck in the tunnel before the plane too, so I normally wait in the pre-boarding area until I see people walking onto the plane. Makes boarding feel much smoother, but I also normally just travel with an under-seat bag

I thought Ryanair were larger than easyjet in the UK

Honestly that first Class hard product is a competitive business class at best

The first class went up in price as I was waiting for my gf to make her mind up so booked 2 business class return flights for £900; first class next year

Fantastic Review. ***WARNING****. With the QSuite business class tickets I've just booked from Vietnam to Brazil I'm being asked to pay $200 USD per family member ONE WAY just to sit together and enjoy the experience. Factor in these costs if you are travelling with your family or just avoid Qatar (which is probably a better option). Not family friendly.

The 2 things I've noticed since flying for years is that online check in used to be easy and no queues but now lots of people do it so no longer an advantage and the same with easy loading used to be only a few people but loads do it now so only an advantage to the airline not the customer. This is one of the best comparison of the budget airlines I have seen but are no good to me because I want a flight that gets me from my local airport at the time I want and arrives there the same doesn't matter how much it costs within reason.

Great review. So question if traveling in BA first but leaving through T3, are we not allowed to use First wing at T5 and use concorde lounge there? Follow-up if staying at T3 but BA first, is CH first lounge better or Galleries first BA? Thanks in advance!

Last time I flew I looked at Ryan Air and Aer Lingus. I realised if I paid for all extras at Ryan Air, the things already included in Aer Lingus, price was more expensive than Aer Lingus.

Not bad for 350£ , I booked one to cologne for that much Eurostar business premier .

Brought some sunshine to my day! A couple of ideas for enhancing that "first class" experience; 1) (Carefully) pack a real glass champagne flute in your carry-on bag that you can bring out with a flourish and pour the Prosecco into, 2) consider "harvesting" small packs of high quality toiletries from hotels, department store free samples, etc, that you can pamper yourself with in the bathroom (or even buying some if available) - it's the small luxuries that count. Also, if you're really going to adopt the 1st class mindset, you need to stop worrying about what the person across the aisle thinks when you deploy the caviar!😀 With regard to buying the extra seat, I did wonder if it might introduce a possible ethical dilemma. What happens if the guy in 1C, noticing that the middle seat is empty "by luck", decides to monopolize it by dumping his laptop bag / newspaper / empty drinks bottles, etc on it? Do you "claim" it as your seat, having paid for it? Or do you just put up and shut up? Or do you monopolize it first and run the risk of your neighbour calling Foul, then explaining that you bought the extra seat, then watching the look of bemused disbelief spread across his face?🤨 ETA: We took the Luton - Warsaw flight with WizzAir once and had priority boarding. Having "priority boarded", we were shuttled into a glass-sided corridor to stand for 20 minutes and could watch the "non Priority" passengers continue to enjoy the relative comfort of the seated gate area! Might be gate-dependent I guess.

It's a good product for sure - definitely a big step up from the old BA Club World. I'm not sure it's so much better than the new BA Club Suites. As for other airlines, well BA First is nowhere near Etihad, Singapore, Emirates, Qatar. The Concorde Lounge is really wonderful.

You were robbed.only good thing was the extra seat .I'd never fly Easyjet after the first time . same for Ryan air. Not impressed by any of them. You aren't going to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear so I'd just pay for the extra seat and that'd be it.

Apart from the selfish a holes that hog the overhead storage I don't see much point in priority boarding because at the end of the say the flight aint gonna leave without all passengers waiting to board. So only the selfish a holes who want to hog up all the storage with their stupid luggage is what its for. Same goes for reserving a next seat which someone else could have booked, that option should just be banned.

I recently booked business Class London to Abu Debi via Phuket. I seen when you book the plane you fly with is the A380 two days later they changed the flight to this more outdated aircraft so be aware

If ALL an aircraft's extra leg room seats are that way because they are exit row seats, then they will be narrower than other seats, due to tray tables having to be housed in one of the arms. If it already tight for you, that matters. It matters even more on a 737 compared to an A320 family plane. Its something surprisingly missed by aviation bloggers. Wizz are an example of only having extra leg room seats that are narrower. TUI are an example of an airline that does have extra leg room seats that are so simply because the spacing was made so ( they have a mix of both types ). There's another restriction involved - that those who need an extension safety belt will be disallowed from exit row seats. You can also be deemed unfit to assist for other reasons and denied. With some airlines, seat pitch has declined to such a low level ( e.g. Wizz at 28 inches ) that some people will feel compelled to seek an extra legroom seat, but if all such seats offered are compromised or restricted as to usage as I have described, it is possible that an airline may be off limits to you n practical terms. So it is in my case with Wizz, whereas with TUI I could get by, with planning. It becomes further complicated with different aircraft types or configuration versions within an airline. Then what if they substitute a different aircraft than the one that you banked on ? I do wish more airlines would sell more extra leg room seats that are so simply because they made the spacing that way by deliberate choice. A word about Ryanair. It used to be the case that you could reply upon a Ryanair flight to give you a standardised seat pitch of 30 inches. This is surprising given that nowadays BA's norm is 29, with a few examples of 28. However, since Ryanair introduced the Max variant of the 737, they have been tempted to densify and on these aircraft pitch is more typically 29 and in a part of the cabin actually falls to 28. Good luck trying to see that displayed on their website or get to speak to a representative who actually knows what they are talking about ! 30 is bad enough for some people, 29 was pushing things but 28 is just downright unacceptable i.m.o. Remember also as these aircraft join the fleet in increasing number, unexpected substitution may occur and your banked on 30 may go puff. I used to like Ryanair because of their consistency even though I have never flown with them. Now, there is uncertainty and not only that they seem to be shy about admitting it. I wish airlines would be more consistent. Including BA by the way, as there is one of the types of 320's that has a mix of 30, 29 and 28, depending where you sit. On the Embraers of subsidiaries CityFlyer and EuroFlyer, 28 is going to become a norm for many of the economy seats ( whereas previously it had been at a premium level ). BA's Club Europe up at the front can actually be good value, particularly if bought with Avios. Plus of course you usually get the neighbouring seat blocked, a lounge, decent food on board, etc. Whereas, attempting to make budget carriers function as a kind of quasi business class can be really expensive, particularly if a lot of luggage is involved. Its highly variable of course but it can work out terribly. If I was looking to book a quasi business class experience on budget carrier in Europe, I can think of two particular worthwhile ways for me, or anyone else of plus size. Try to get an extra leg room seat that has extra space simply because the airline spaced a small number that way and sell it for a premium. TUI are an example. Failing that, I do like the idea of paying for a vacant adjacent seat. However, rather than try to sit in an exit row, sit in an ordinary row a bit further behind and forgo the long legroom. Then there is not compatibility issue for big people. After all you can stick your legs under the seat in front to an extent. I can see myself doing this on EasyJet with its standard 29 inch pitch, which equals BA's usual economy pitch. Being an Airbus the seats are a tad wider than on a 737 family plane by the way. With Wizz as I stated before, they have just gone beyond the pail with their seat pitch of 28, so that's out for me. But yes, EasyJet does look a good prospect. I hope my writings help some folks sort out wheat from chaff and help those of plus size to navigate things.
