Yup! Whenever I wanna straighten my hair, I run my fingers through my hair with conditioner to detangle it and I don’t scrunch it. After it’s dry, my hair is somewhat less curly and little more on the straighter side. This helps me whenever I wanna blow dry it.
@A What you are doing is bullying and harassment of others. I know you think you’re “quirky” or some shit but seriously, it doesn’t matter. It’s disgusting that you even go out of your way just to hate on other people when they have done nothing to you. I’ve already reported you, as your actions have occurred on more than one occasion, go on taunt me. You know I’m right in the end ❤️
your hair was halfway dry, it needs to be more wet. I personally use mousse the same way I would use gel. I pat it first lightly instead of raking and then I scrunch.
In Poland many wavy/curly girls is using mousse on wet hair by scrunching it just a little bit, then adding gel and then scrunching still wet hair A LOT. It really works on wavy hair.
When I went to the salon to do my hair, the lady took small sections and ran a little bit of mouse though it. Then she rapped it around two fingers and held it with a bobby pin and told me to leave it until it’s completely dry. The curls turned out BEAUTIFUL.
Apply to sopping wet hair(actually dripping wet) upside down, scrunch in more mousse than you used here, no raking. Diffuse for as long as you like, no touching until 100% dry. Spritz/scrunch to refresh. I have amazing 2a/2b hair days doing this!
*TIP* I have pretty wavy, almost curly hair, and I use a mousse like this every time after I shower, but the trick to it that I find very helpful is to flip my hair over, and scrunch the product in all at once. This allows me to evenly spread it while also coaxing the curls to form nicely. Then i flip my head back over and lean to each side to scrunch it more. Hope this helps!
Apply the foam to a damp hair then twist & curl it with your fingers then hold them with a hairpin after that use a hair dryer and let it cold for 20 minutes then enjoy.

Hello! I noticed that you mentioned you often have to wear your hair up on day 3 and 4. I believe we have a very similar conundrum. My sister(a curly) told me to start just conditioning my hair when I can't wear it down any longer but it's not my wash day. This has drastically improved my definition in my waves. I hope this helps and thank you for continuing to show how your journey is going! Much Love!💛
I LOVED what this product did for your hair (1st and 2nd day)! I’ll say it: best thing you’ve done with your hair. BOOM. i said it. I love the slightly messy, wave/curl it gave you!
mousse works much better if you smooth it over your hair and then scrunch up. i find raking it through like that makes it super stringy and just flat and gives it a cast (not the good one, the bad one that wont go away)
I use mousse and got the best results after using a very small amount of Boots curl creme. My favourite look was after scrunching LOADS of the mousse in while totally wet and then scrunching out the cast when dry. I, like you, have given up with the CGM on my waves because I never feel put together but on days when I just want to let it air dry, that gave me my favourite results. I'd tried so many different products but that combo worked best for me.
I have something u should definetly try. I am doing the curly girl method for 2.5 years now. More or less. I only use the "health" things and only use stylers on special ocasions, because i am way to lazy. So my goal is to make my hair look good only with a leave in and such. And a year ago i bought an aloe vera, because everyone said it was so good. So i bought one and let it grow for a year. Last week i first tried it. I took the gel of a leave blended it with a teaspoon of coconut oil, and used it after shampooing as a hair mask for about an hour. And than i rinsed it out with warm water. And my hair was sooo shiny, bouncy, had a little bit of hold despite having no styler or what ever that could give hold, litterally so little frizz etc. It was amazing i never had these results without gel or something, and even with gel i would have considered this as a really good hair day. So i tried it yesterday again. And its the same. So good. I woke up Today run my fingers through my hair to detangle it a bit, and it looks really okay. Of course nothing like a refresh with a bit of water and leave in. But for doing nothing to my hair its more that i ever dared to ask for. So its definetly worth a try.
Isabella I have to say I looove your hair, its so pretty, straight and wavy! I dont understand all the hate. I personally like to use a lot of mousse on my curly hair when its very wet and scrunch the mousse in. Just a little advice, it doesn't mean you have to do it. Love uu! Pls stay the way you are, don't take the hate of the others. Ps. Sorry for my bad english I am from Germany :)
I have very curly hair naturally and I use a leave in conditioner. I have just recently tried putting extra virgin olive oil to seal the leave in conditioner in. That had been working amazingly and had my hair so shinny. I feel like it's very normal( atleast for me) for curly hair to lose its curls after 3 days or so usually I would just carefully comb it out and wear it in a bun or different styles until it's my next wash day. I recommend that when your putting products in... have that hair wet like realy wet like almost dripping. That will give you the best results. If your hair if even only a lil dry the hair will not curl as defined as it would if it was realy wet. I recomend you use a leave in conditioner to help with frizz and reapply when you see its fizzing up agin. Afterall I suffer with bad frizz aswell because I live in a extremely hot country. Hope this helps anyone who were looking for advise.
I don’t know why people are being so nasty. This video was not instructional, it was Isabella trying out a new product for the first time. If you read this Isabella please keep on going and don’t listen to the haters- I love your channel because you are so human and real! We all make mistakes, that’s how you learn and grow xx
I tried mousse just last week after 2 years of going back and forth from cgm gel (good-ish in the summer, completely insane in the fall and winter) struggle to don'twannadealwithit blow drying... mousse for now is the best for me, i have fine 2c hair. tweaking the amount of product really helps as well, i need much less than I thought. and drying time is so little it's not even comparable to using gel!
I think we have sorta the sam hairtype, and my hair gets stringy like that from mousse if I apply it in damp hair rather then soaking wet. If i use it on wet hair I get much better results! I also like the combination gel, mousse, gel :)
so I'm a 3a-3c texture and I've tried MANY methods. these days I use a combo of a curl crème and a mousse. in the morning when I wake I soak my hair in water, then (depending on hair type with waves use a small amount to much could weigh the hair down and make it appear greasy) apply through the hair focusing on the ends (because that's where frizz usually is the most common) doing a scrunching motion with a towel/shirt and drying it that way. I apply mouse once its no longer dripping but I still have water through out the hair. I do the scrunching with the towel then my fingers because the towel can make it frizzy. I also through my head over to scrunch and apply the products so that it helps create volume. (I'm not a professional but I'm sharing what I find works best FOR ME everyone has different hair types so if it doesn't work for you don't be discouraged keep searching. If the mousse doesn't work still try your gel when I use the gel I apply directly after wetting the hair then scrunch with a towel. Also try hair masks those are good and many exist for what problems you have)
Your hair really reminds me of my own! such a unique colour, love it💕 I find that Palmer's coconut leave in conditioner spray as a refresh on days where my hair has a bit of frizz is an excellent way to help redefine waves and banish frizz! 😁 Just spray a bit onto hands and gently run through the mid to end sections of your hair and you can reuse as often as you want throughout the day, conditioning for your hair too👌
Please Isabella most of your subscribers ars here for hair videos... dont give up on that. We don't want you to feel trapped in this series, but we enjoy those videos so much!!!!
I have fine, wavy hair, and I like to scrunch in a cream while my hair is soaking wet, plop, and then use praying hands to carefully place the mousse all over and scrunch the ends. I find this gives me definition and lets my hair dry pretty fast. If you're looking for more definition, I would recommend trying this method. :) Love your videos!
Isabella have you tried oil on your hair? I recommend to you the Green Tea Oil from the brand Chi. It leaves my hair super soft and eliminates the frizz. You can reapply the oil on the next day and works fine too! You might like to try it 🥰! I suppose mousse leaves the hair sticky? The green tea oil is really nice and does not leave the hair oily at all 👍
Hi isabella! I honestly enjoy your videos so much because i have struggled with hair for years as well, and its so nice to see someone show their real honest self, love the vids!💖
I also have a thin wavy 2A hair type (similar to you). When I want to style my hair quick I just towel dry the hair after the shower and then scrunch in quite a lot of foam. The hair should feel kinda wet with product. Then I just let it air dry and it looks voluminous and wavy by the end. I love that it is easy and don't mind that the hold is less than with a gel.
i like mousse but i use it differently: on decently wet hair i put alittle bit of mousse all throughout my hair, comb my hair then take a little more mousse and scrunch it in, a light leave in helps with the rough feeing, hope this helps :)
hii Isabella :) you should try the overnight curls with the bathrobe belt method. I have very similar frizz and hair texture now as you do and this method gives me beautiful curls until the next wash. Just remember not to pull it in the beginning at the top of your hair/near to the roots, because you will end up with weird hair.. if you start loose and than later tight it a bit more, create a bun, secure with a hair tie and sleep on it, the results are much better. I do this method once in a while and I am really satisfied. you can find a lot of videos here on yt. good luck! :)
I've noticed that we have a very similar hair type so I want to tell you a few things that work for me! Use lightweight styling products, apply right after a shower (like when I do it I'm literally still in the shower) on soaking was hair, then just scrunch it in until you get rid of most of the excess water. I've also noticed that brushing your conditioner through before rinsing helps a lot with frizz. I use the tangle teezer. To keep definition I plop my hair in a t-shirt (I do it in a way where it's pushing my hair up to my head as if it were scrunching it). I also really like the brands verb, not your mothers, and Eva nyc :) hope this helps someone!
I've heard that mousse freezes the hair where it's at more than adds curl, so I scrunch first then add the mousse for a light look. but I like doing it hardcore in the shower with gel first then mousse on top and yes it does take 5 hours to dry if I don't diffuse.
we have similar curl patterns and what I do is wash and condition my hair then with my hair still sopping wet I put a little bit of curl cream and rake it through then scrunch until a good amount of water is out but still very wet, then I put mousse or foam in by using praying hands then scrunching, then micro plop with a t-shirt. my hair always comes out so shiny and not frizzy at all when I do this, but I also just let it air dry
I personally start off with wet slightly drippy hair and add a tiny bit of gel and then use mousse that way the gel kind of tames the frizz and gives a little more hold in the mousse does but then the mousse keeps it light and fluffy :)
Personally I use mousse on wet hair. I rake in the mousse then scrunch out all the excess water to help drive the product into my hair. I also prefer the Not Your Mother’s curl talk mousse because it’s still a soft hold, but it gives a stronger cast.
I always apply mousse on my damp hair and then braid it. Leave it overnight and you will have gorgeous waves! (Don't run it through! Scrunch it right in!) :)
Hey Isabella, I am curious on your thoughts on wearing wavy/curly hair now. I remember when you first started I felt like your ideal hair preference was straight. Also, heres a tip, you can mix products, when I went to Paul Mitchell we used to put the mousse, with a touch of serum, literally a drop or two and small pea size of gel, then emulsify it in out hands, ones its all combined start at the ends then work up to the mid shaft and roots , so next time if youre feeling upto it, try it that way? Dunno, but you look great! Happy holidays :)
You probably get tons of product recommendations but maybe you haven't heard of those brands: Calia (especially the hydrating series, natural products, hands down the best I've ever tried, holistichabits uses them and that IS a reference!), Briogeo avocado and kiwi mask, The Innate Life Rose Hair Elixir. All natural, free of silicones. 😻😻😻
Your hair looks really good! Not sure if you have tried it already, but try applying the mousse onto wet hair, then blow dry with scrunching motion with your hands, after it's dried, you could even use a round brush with the heat from blow dryer to curl it even more. But applying the mousse onto wet hair is key, at least from my experience.
I hope this gets to you. Since i have the same hair type as you . I recommend putting the mousse in your hair while it is soaking wet !! So comb it and then put the mouse in your hair and then put it in the tshirt to soak up some of the water then after 10 or 20 mins . Let it air dry but DO NOT touch it. Then it usually looks nice .
I have the same hair type as you. I use baby shampoo, hask macadamia oil conditioner and john frieda frizz ease serum. Since then my hair has been totally different. So if you like, try it out.
When I use mousse. I do a dry refresh, just apply the gel directly to the dry hair. I use mousse on those lazy days where I dont feel like diffusing the gel dry bc I don't like the wet sticky gel hair on my skin.
I suggest scrunching mousse in when you're hair is a bit more wet! (not soaking, but still wet) and combining it with gel or another product. For myself, I love the effect mousse gives but I find it doesn't give enough hold/definition on it's own. For me it works best when I combine it with a gel, but if your hair is on a drier side it might help to use a cream first :)
You should try finger-coiling your hair or doing it with a Denman brush. My hair texture and curl pattern is similar to yours and it really helps at defining the waves/curls! Also, for mousse there is a Garnier one that won't leave your hair stringy, it's called "Garnier Sublime Mousse" and it has like a creamy consistency to it. Kisses 😘😘😘
Praying hands and scrunch with is the best method for styling with mousse with your hair upside down - it creates volume and discourages your hair from wanting to go straight 😉
This stuff works better when your hair is more like wet, also SCRUNSH it in until it hardens, and after a while scrunsh out the crunsh with a little oil and dont get too close to the roots with all of the products.
Your waves look really soft and pretty. When you were applying the mousse, I noticed that you really didn't take it all the way up to your roots. You would probably have more wave near the top of your head if you did that.
Try to use a light leave in conditioner just on the ends of your hair before the mousse. It will help you out because the leave in conditioner is gonna bring you some sort of treatment/hydration and the mousse is gonna give you the wave definition you need and the hair is not going to feel weird in your day after. The best one for me is Moisture Kick from Schwarzkopf! Very hydrating, hair feels really soft and shiny, protects from heat/sun and is not greasy. It feels like you just aplied a deep conditioning hair mask.
I gave up on mousse entirely. Of course it depends on your hair and the other products and as you say you can do the same thing and get a different result every time. For me, mousse gives a softer result but also by the end of the day I have frizz. No matter what products I use I need to completely wet my hair (and condition) on day 3. I couldn't wear it down otherwise but I can do buns and other up-styles. I'm still experimenting all the time with my hair and I'm happy to do it.
Loving that you still do this from time to time, like myself ^^ I do feel like you need to scrunch longer and softer, with bigger sections of hair and more up, close to the root. Right now, you're more flippy-di-flopping your hair
Have u tried cantu curl activator cream? It has really worked for me, I have way frizzy hair. It comes the frizz & defines the waves. However, don't use too much just a coin size amount on wet hair as too much can lead to build up. Hope it helps ❤️
when u refresh with mousse u have to put another layer of mousse in your hair not just water> also mousse is supposed to be scrunched into the hair rather than raking through
Yay new video💘💘💘 for me mousse makes my hair stringy and no curl definition maybe it's the one I tried Idk, I think you should try other curl methods with no scrunching at all and maybe give the denman brush a try I have never used but it has a lot of hype 💜
Thank you for sharing this with us 😊 I'm on my hair journey too and you are so inspiring because it really is a long af journey. Sending you love from California!
just a tip, try to have your hair a lot wetter when applying product (you should hear a squelch when applying product) as the hair strand swells when it's wet so it absorbs product better and prevents frizz
Can i suggest you something: So im also doing the CGM ive been doing it since december of 2019,I sometime hate my curly hair and now i had a bad cut and i hate it so what i do i would suggest you also:Wash your hair in the afternoon only with shampoo no conditioner or gel or nothing get out of the shower and brush it then take some conditioner just a little and apply it on your hair but not in your roots, then apply moose on your hair not on your roots, and then braid your hair on the back of your head,Iike start from the back of your neck not from your top of the head, when youre done doing that just go do what you have to do sleep over night with the braid and then in the morning take the braind out and you will have these non frisy waves,Im not saying you hate your curls(I aint callong them waves cause its the same)or anything but sometime i dont like how it looks This whole process is done when right out of the shower with wet hair then it dries over night
I like this idea. I always thought she would benefit at braiding her hair with a bit of product. And I feel like it would make her waves/curls last longer. But thats just an opinion🤗
For my hair, I find applying my mousse to wet hair works way better than damp hair. Also I flip my head upside down and scrunch it into my hair then I grab a t-shirt and keep scrunching with the t-shirt.
I think it looks better than when you apply the gel Maybe if you get a good brand mousse and experience with it more till you find the specific amount suited to your hair and the drying process it will look nice
i don’t know if you’ve tried this yet, but you should try washing your hair upside down, and applying product upside down while scrunching. this really helps my wavy hair form nice ringlets and curls
tip: use a little more mouse and then brush/comb throught it instead of scrunching it. Then let it air dry. I have been using mouse for about 2 years and i have curly/wavy hair
So glad you keep going with the hair videos. You brought me onto the curly girl method and it's been a fun journey. Would love to see you style your hair soaking wet. I find it helps me a lot to get nicer, defined curls/waves with less frizz. Also did you know about Glycerin in hair products and how it can dry your hair or hydrate it depending on the dew point in your area? Also have you tried to scrunch in a moisturizing cream (I use the one from Boucleme) or (leave-in) conditioner (Jessicurl glycerin free Deep Conditioner is what I use) to help with day 3/4 frizz hair? And another product I woulf suggest: Orange Marmelade gel from Ecoslay. Super mosturizing and some people say super strong hold.

:) Love your videos!
oops, didn't realize this video was from a month ago lol
Isabella have you tried oil on your hair? I recommend to you the Green Tea Oil from the brand Chi. It leaves my hair super soft and eliminates the frizz. You can reapply the oil on the next day and works fine too! You might like to try it 🥰!
I suppose mousse leaves the hair sticky? The green tea oil is really nice and does not leave the hair oily at all 👍
I got the notification and I clicked as fast as I could.
I think that your hair turned out really good.
I do this method once in a while and I am really satisfied. you can find a lot of videos here on yt. good luck! :)
You have to do it after washing your hair when it's completely wet! If I don't do it when it's wet you can tell a huge difference
Try this exact routine but you can try adding just a clean product hair oil to tame the frizz
we have similar curl patterns and what I do is wash and condition my hair then with my hair still sopping wet I put a little bit of curl cream and rake it through then scrunch until a good amount of water is out but still very wet, then I put mousse or foam in by using praying hands then scrunching, then micro plop with a t-shirt. my hair always comes out so shiny and not frizzy at all when I do this, but I also just let it air dry
I personally start off with wet slightly drippy hair and add a tiny bit of gel and then use mousse that way the gel kind of tames the frizz and gives a little more hold in the mousse does but then the mousse keeps it light and fluffy :)
Your hair is AMAZING you have no idea 😭♥️
You should try a style with the mousse on soaking wet hair. It holds waves so much better that way!
Try using a leave in or light curl cream under the mousse! It helps a lot with definition and moisture!
Kisses 😘😘😘
Mousse usually works better when applied on soaking wet hair as opposed to damp and scrunched instead of raked🤗
Great result! Good volume on top. Can't wait to try this tomorrow! 7 months into growing my hair here!
Omg your hair is going to be BEAUTIFUL and when you have long hair 🥰
Your waves look really soft and pretty. When you were applying the mousse, I noticed that you really didn't take it all the way up to your roots. You would probably have more wave near the top of your head if you did that.
@Martina I don't have oily hair, so that's not a concern for me.
Ah yes the curl mouse iconic as always
hahahah good one, pretty sure she won't get it
@@lanapena866 that's a bit nasty to say isn't it. It's already been corrected.
@@IsabellaDemarko lol ur such a jokerrr
@@lanapena866 😂😂
@@IsabellaDemarko what a baby
Loving that you still do this from time to time, like myself ^^
I do feel like you need to scrunch longer and softer, with bigger sections of hair and more up, close to the root. Right now, you're more flippy-di-flopping your hair
Have u tried cantu curl activator cream? It has really worked for me, I have way frizzy hair. It comes the frizz & defines the waves. However, don't use too much just a coin size amount on wet hair as too much can lead to build up. Hope it helps ❤️
if you wanted to try a mousse that is less crunchy the cantu mousse is good!
when u refresh with mousse u have to put another layer of mousse in your hair not just water> also mousse is supposed to be scrunched into the hair rather than raking through
I use the VO5 curl mousse and it’s my go to product for my curls, as I find gel makes my hair heavy and flat.
Yay new video💘💘💘 for me mousse makes my hair stringy and no curl definition maybe it's the one I tried Idk,
I think you should try other curl methods with no scrunching at all and maybe give the denman brush a try I have never used but it has a lot of hype 💜
Can i suggest you something:
So im also doing the CGM ive been doing it since december of 2019,I sometime hate my curly hair and now i had a bad cut and i hate it so what i do i would suggest you also:Wash your hair in the afternoon only with shampoo no conditioner or gel or nothing get out of the shower and brush it then take some conditioner just a little and apply it on your hair but not in your roots, then apply moose on your hair not on your roots, and then braid your hair on the back of your head,Iike start from the back of your neck not from your top of the head, when youre done doing that just go do what you have to do sleep over night with the braid and then in the morning take the braind out and you will have these non frisy waves,Im not saying you hate your curls(I aint callong them waves cause its the same)or anything but sometime i dont like how it looks
This whole process is done when right out of the shower with wet hair then it dries over night
I like this idea. I always thought she would benefit at braiding her hair with a bit of product. And I feel like it would make her waves/curls last longer. But thats just an opinion🤗
Your hair looks so healthy in this video!! Hope you can see the difference too
You would look soo good in a mullett
Can you try using aloe vera gel after the shower? I heard it makes more curlier our hair
I feel like ur hair needs a mousse or a leave in mask or conditioner rather than a gel
Pls do consider buying a good leave in too :)💖💕
For my hair, I find applying my mousse to wet hair works way better than damp hair. Also I flip my head upside down and scrunch it into my hair then I grab a t-shirt and keep scrunching with the t-shirt.
I think it looks better than when you apply the gel
Maybe if you get a good brand mousse and experience with it more till you find the specific amount suited to your hair and the drying process it will look nice
i don’t know if you’ve tried this yet, but you should try washing your hair upside down, and applying product upside down while scrunching. this really helps my wavy hair form nice ringlets and curls
It looks so good, but wont it dry your hair out if you use it for a longer time ?
I use leave in conditioner before i apply mousse and that seems to help alot with frizz
Would be interested in seeing you try out the hair inversion method!
Loooove your hair videos! The fringe suits you so much!
Try plopping your hair, upside down in a shirt, so the curls fall in their bundels, that with scruncing in mouse life changer!!!!!!!
tip: use a little more mouse and then brush/comb throught it instead of scrunching it. Then let it air dry. I have been using mouse for about 2 years and i have curly/wavy hair
You should get a detangling/gloss spray that's good for wet hair and dry hair. Apply it out of the shower, do the mousse a little wetter, and bam.
Have you ever tried the hot oil treatment? I heard it's so good to reduce the damage!
