- We drove to Pontone and parked. You can walk into the Valle delle Ferriere from there. It can also be accesesed from Amalfi, near the paper factory or by walking down from Minuta near Scala.
Stefano's pesto recipe:
80g basil leaves
50g parmigiano
30g pecorino cheese
30g pine nuts or skinless almonds
1 clove of garlic
salt to taste
1 1/2 cups olive oil (In Italian this was simply 1 1/2 measures of oil. I'm not sure if a 'measure' is equivalent to a cup so maybe just start with a cup and then add more if necessary!)
Blend the nuts, garlic and cheeses in a blender until crumbs. Add the basil leaves and oil and blend. Add salt if needed. Freeze or use immediately!

You guys are amazing. This video, along with many that you have done in the past, is a true reflection of the amount of work and time that you both put in making videos for all of us to enjoy. Where do I begin. The early rising, filming during a heat wave when most of us would be seeking shade or too tired to carry anything let alone film. Even after a storm that made a huge mess on your property you still wanted us to see how your family made pesto. Thank you to Stephano for allowing us to see the process. All of this before you headed off to work Nicki? Wow!! To make matters worse, after a productive morning of filming and stair climbing, you then discovered damage to your scooter and your belongings were all wet and you haven't even left yet to go to work. You're Amazing!! My day would've ended there, if not sooner. 😂😂
I hope many of your viewers, me included, will be blessed with an opportunity to visit Positano one day and it's surrounding areas. What a delightful way to begin the video. The entire globe is suffering in this horrific heat wave. I felt my temperature drop just watching the water as it dropped and cascaded down the rocks. Thanks for making it an early trip. The sight of others would have ruined the ambience nature created in this beautiful spot. What a refreshing way to begin the day with the heat climbing and climbing.

They did put the panini in a big thick brown paper bag. The sound of the paper bag, the smell of the freshly baked panini......so delicious!

Yes you and Carlo were like kids just enjoying the beauty and water, looked cold but refreshing!!! Practicing for elder years decades in advance...one must be ready ...haha!!! Such a fun day!! In my youth we'd leave the city go to the "country" walk down gravel roads to the big bridge go underneath and follow the sandy ground until we found a pond of water...I remember black moccasin snakes joining us and it was still fun, just shortened the swim. How my cousins could run barefoot on gravel roads and I could barely walk on them without shoes. Thanks for sharing such a great day and the always beautiful scenery of your lives!!!😎💫🥂

Mio Dio, che bel corso d'acqua fresca e fredda! La cascata era così rinfrescante. Buon per te e Carlo, e per i bambini che se ne vadano e si godano in un'altra calda giornata.
Grazie per avermi mostrato quei sacchi di foglie di basilico fresco, mio Dio mi ha riportato alla mente dei ricordi. Mia madre lo coltivava nel suo orto e ogni giorno raccoglieva diverse foglie, e con un pestello schiacciava l'aglio, e le foglie di basilico e poi e olio extravergine di oliva, formaggio (il migliore) e pinoli, a volte lei userebbe le noci. Quanto mi manca mangiare quel pesto! E il mio preferito sugli gnocchi, tutti fatti a mano, arrotolati su una forchetta e cotti in meno di 10 minuti. Delizioso. Mi hai rallegrato la giornata! Spero che la tempesta ti abbia portato un po' di ristoro. Grazie ancora!
Just got back from Abruzzo ..this was the most INEXPENSIVE TRIP in Italy i have ever had ..just unbelievable ..10 course meals for under 25 euro's with wine and aperitivo ..what an amazing trip ..can't wait till next year .

I enjoy all of your videos, but as someone who loves to garden I really look forward to the garden/food related videos. I love how it’s a extended family affair when it comes to the care and processing of all the gardens bounty. I grew up in a small city with a lot of Italian immigrants and most had two kitchens in their homes where they would make wine and can tomatoes and sauce.

I'm surprised because her breed loves water generally (my Border Collie absolutely loved to swim, and my two Texas heelers love any body of water...particularly mud puddles).
