They must've had a very short deadline And they must have been cheap, so they thought that having four working together was better than one working alone
I've never seen Madame Web, but the way you summarized the movie actually sounds like a really interesting premise for a psychological horror. Imagine getting bestowed with a super power, but not realizing what it is, so instead of going around saving people, you end up going insane.
So...funny enough, I think the writers and director did want to make it (or at least thought they could make) a psychological thriller, but then it seemed Sony did what Sony does best and interfered with "Spiderman but not Spiderman". Who knows though?
Filmento made a video about Gods of Egypt even before Morbius came out, calling it "one of the worst movies he's ever watched" which is wild because I'm a long time viewer and he usually doesn't say that. He's just reviewing the good and the bad parts of a movie and makes suggestions on how they can become better. There's something fundamentally wrong with these writers, I think.

I actually love the idea of a villain having a vision he's going to be killed by someone so he tries to kill them first and that's what starts the process where he dies in the end. It's like a Greek tragedy.
How did she get from Peru to New York (when she was a baby)? Who raised her? How/why was she not picked up on the face sensor when she went back to Peru? Who was the pilot? Why were they willing to transport a wanted criminal (presumably to & from Peru)? How lomg did all that take? Why did no one report the stolen taxi with no license plates driving around the city? How did she learn to use her powers? Why did she get reperted but not the Spider guy beating up officers in a train station? And so many more questions they didn't even bother to think about.
Let's start even before that - if you want logic - with who flew a pregnant women in the third trimester to Peru? Or has she been there for months? Why did she think looking for magic spiders in her condition was a good idea? Yes, she wanted a cure for her daughter, but i think she could have waited until the baby was born. And how in the hell did Madame Webbing come to the conclusion her mother hated her? I can understand that she could have developed negative feelings towards her mother if her childhood in foster care wasn't that great. But she seemed to know her mother died during childbirth and she had her mother's notes all that time ... notes that showed her mother loved her. But we needed that conflict for the scene where she met her mother in a vision - awesome writing.

I haven’t seen it but no one is mentioning the spiderman suit, this video mentions that the bad guy “has a spider suit” and points out that’s silly but what IS the explanation for that? Like, in the comics? Because this is set before Spiderman was born, yes? And Spiderman designed his own suit, didn’t he? So is it explained why this guy also has a Spiderman suit?
In the comics, Ezekiel Sims doesn't have a suit. And he's also not Algerian.... Nor was he bitten by a spider.. Basically, the only thing this character has in common with the comic character is that he goes barefoot and attempts to kill someone to save his own life.
I feel hilariously bad for Dakota Johnson. From the recent press tour of this movie, you can just tell that she looked so absolutely done with the movie to the point that she didn't even care anymore. 😂
I don't. She's a terrible actress and her performance in this terrible movie further underlines just how bad her acting is. In a movie with so many things being subpar, her acting managed to stand out.
I feel bad for Dakota Johnson, too. For starters, she actually _can_ act! She was in the remake of Suspiria and was great in it. Second, she doesn't actually attack any of the audience or fans, which considering she's a third-generation nepo-baby and lives in Hollywood, is more impressive than you'd think. Third, she revealed in press tours she really didn't want to do superhero movies cause she doesn't see herself as heroic or right for the genre, but her agency lied to her about it being a Marvel Studios (MCU) movie, and it clearly wasn't. The script then had several rewrites once the director was brought on board and the director wanted to turn the movie into a 2003 thriller that had nothing to do with superheroes. And to top it all off, she was then contractually obligated to do press tours for the movie she knew was bad while filming it. It's literally filming someone humiliating themselves, then making them publicly show off the video to everyone. And again, Dakota Johnson hasn't once said anything negative about any fans or paying customers, unlike much of Hollywood. So yeah, she deserved much better than this. I'd honestly tell her to quit Hollywood now and just start a RUclips channel or make her own independent films or something, cause you can tell she genuinely loves the industry, but thinks Hollywood is all there is to movies and acting.
She can act. I find hard to take her seriously because she looks EXACTLY like who you get if you crossed Don Johnson with Melanie Griffith - her actual parents! She’s beautiful but she looks ridiculously like them.
I have no sympathy for her. She should have known better than to accept a superhero role to begin with, she's the Fifty Shades girl, and she made her money. Whether she can act or not I don't care. As a woman I find it insulting to have the Fifty Shades girl be presented to me as a person I'm supposed to see as a hero, of any kind. Never going to happen.
Reminds me a lot of that willy wonka experience like a week ago. I couldn't stop dying of laughter when THE UNKNOWN randomly shows up. Each of the movie scenes feels so disconnected, like something new is happening but for an entirely different reason from the last scene.
Madame Webb: Spiderman, I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate. Peter Parker: *pause* What's that make us? Madame Webb: Absolutely nothing. (Definitely not a scene from Spaceballs.)
I'm pretty sure at least in the beginning the Spiderverse-movies were only seen as a little side-project by Sony. Yeah, let those guys that are really into the comic books make their animated movie, who cares. Will probably not make much money, not as much as our great non-Spider-Man cinematic universe ... But Madame Web - that one will bring in the big bucks.
VENOM had the writer from 50 SHADES OF GREY (who is also directing THE LAST DANCE) MORBIUS had the writers from GODS OF EGYPT (Who are also behind MADAME WEB) And KRAVEN THE HUNTER has the writers from TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT AVI ARAD ruined everything again And he isn't even involved in MADAME WEB But he is behind BORDERLANDS though
And to add insult to injury Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney thought that they were going to join the MCU, instead they joined a different MCU: Morbius Cinematic Universe.
I overheard a lady talking about this movie while at a DMV. She described the plot as "a movie about a side character that no one wanted that does nothing with the spider man movies". That hit me hard, coming from a state employment office known for a lack of common sense or intelligence.
In the comment section of the trailer for this movie, some guy who was part of a test screening actually revealed how the movie ends in a reply to my comment (I tried to predict how it would end based on the footage in the trailer) on that video and didn't seem as enthusiastic for this movie as you would have expected. When the movie actually came out it explained a lot of things.

I don't know why but the feeling I had is that, in this takedown, especially with the rapid cuts and simple exposition, you make the movie sound like more interesting than it actually is
This movie is the most textbook example of a director who tries to copy what other, much better movies have done without understanding even the slightest bit about how or why those other movies did those things. What's so incredible about it is how this ineptitude permeates literally every aspect of the movie, from the cinematography, to the editing, to the line delivery. Lots of people contributed to this trainwreck, and they don't necessarily get a pass either, but the ultimate responsibility falls on the director. That said, the writing is exceptionally bad. The villain has a premonition of being killed by these teenage girls, so he decides to hunt them down. The only problem is, Madame is a useless husk of a human being who only gets motivated to get off her sorry ass when she sees visions of him coming after the girls, who are themselves anonymous nobodies. So the initial action he takes to save his future is the only reason his life was ever in jeopardy in the first place. Up until that point, Madame hated her mother and never would have known that he had killed her if he hadn't started hunting down these girls. The logical inconsistencies throughout this movie are mind-boggling.
I didn't love Madame Web, but I didn't hate this movie, & I didn't enjoy it as much as the Venom movies, but it was more enjoyable than Morbius. The problem is Sony is still trying to make a live-action Spider-Verse without Garfield as Spider-Man, & instead they are making movies about the villains & side characters.
Nah! The main problem is that they make every project there with the same superhero staple, the Venom movies are at least entertaining, but they'd treated both Madame Web & Morbius in the same way. Morbius would be better if not the best if they make it a R-Rated Superhero Gothic-Horror or if they'd treated Madame Web as a paranoid thriller this would be way better if it explores different genres.
@jessetorres8738 Here's my theory: Madame Web is very entertaining _if you didn't pay actual money to see it._ (I sure waste money for this.) If you actually paid $15 to go to a movie theater and watch this, I can legit understand why you'd would be angry watching it. Then again, they knew what they were getting into it. This movie is so incompetent, you'd almost think it was made by a master director intentionally trying to make a bad movie border on coherent and incoherent. But nah; it's just that incompetent to where even film school freshmen on their first day can do better than this (at least they'd care and have some passion behind their work.)

What he's trying to explain is their hunger just comes out of thin air for the purpose of the plot moving forward. There's no reason for them to be hungry other than, well, it's the most logical thing to happen. Films are meant to be stylised, not realistic.
The villain doesn't know why he had a dream about TOTAL STRANGERS killing him; yet, his first and only rationale is to kill them first? Maybe. . .just maybe, if you don't give these TOTAL STRANGERS motivation to want to kill you, they'd never know you existed; they definitely wouldn't have YOU TRYING TO KILL THEM as motivation to seek revenge and kill you 🤷♂️🤷♂️

Parker since I'm a big fan of pretty much every version, and the idea of Spider-Dad, I'll make Spider-Man/Peter Parker win a victory over his true arch-nemesis: Marvel Editorial, and Jake Johnson's Peter B. Parker is my favorite character in those films, a film continuation of Spider-Man The Animated Series, Spider-Man The New Animated Series, or the Spectacular Spider-Man (because sadly the rule is that whenever you make one of the best Spider-Man shows it can't get a proper conclusion), Mr. Ditkovich the movie, Silk, Spider-Boy, Spider-Gwen, Agent/Anti-Venom (whether it be Eddie Brock or Flash Thompson), Mayday Parker/Spider-Girl (or any of Peter and MJ's other children in the comics), Ben Reilly, Kaine, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-UK, Spider-Punk, Spider-Ham, Peni Parker, Spider-Man J, Spider-Bitch, and Spider-Man 2099. So is it explained why this guy also has a Spiderman suit?

What he said. You're only going to hurt yourself.

This was an old black and white version of the spiderman suit
@@markiangooleywhat does looks have to do with her lack of acting skills?
I have no sympathy for her. She should have known better than to accept a superhero role to begin with, she's the Fifty Shades girl, and she made her money. Whether she can act or not I don't care. As a woman I find it insulting to have the Fifty Shades girl be presented to me as a person I'm supposed to see as a hero, of any kind. Never going to happen.

Madame Web is a movie with characters that takes place in a world.
I was not expecting a Ovechkin reference in this video but I am here for it lol
The editing has leveled up in this vid 😂👍
I didn't love Madame Web, but I didn't hate this movie, & I didn't enjoy it as much as the Venom movies, but it was more enjoyable than Morbius. The problem is Sony is still trying to make a live-action Spider-Verse without Garfield as Spider-Man, & instead they are making movies about the villains & side characters.
Literally side quests💀
@jessetorres8738
Here's my theory: Madame Web is very entertaining _if you didn't pay actual money to see it._ (I sure waste money for this.) If you actually paid $15 to go to a movie theater and watch this, I can legit understand why you'd would be angry watching it.
