- Yunjin is still waiting for an off-field Normal ATK character. You're wasting 100 stacks of her Burst every time you use it (C4 Childe is the only one who can use it 💀) - Dori is coping that Co-op becomes a relevant endgame content since her Burst scales with the number of player on field. Either that or release a character that can summon a "2nd player". - ALL Physical DPS are waiting for a proper Physical Sub DPS. - Freeze needs to be reworked so that the Aura doesn't get deleted off the planet when against bosses. It doesn't matter if the Boss can't be Frozen... please just keep the Aura 😔. This alone will buff ALL Freeze Archetypes (Freeze, Shatter, FreezeMelt, FreezeVape, Fridge, HyperFridge)
I got so frustrated when I came back to genshin only to find cryo fell off abysmally… my whole account was centered around cryo, I have all the cryo 5* other than wrio and built supports specifically for my cryo teams 😭 I really hope it makes a comeback in the next region
Yeah I always thought not applying cryo when you "freeze" the boss is stupid. Like it makes it impossible to swirl, and the best cryo artifact set loses its usefulness. PLEASE Hoyo, fix this
freeze should be still applied on boss, but its just slowing them down, or a mini stun, so it freeze shatter again and again so cryo can utilize em more i think it can be a bandage to freeze
Dendro, Marechaussee Hunter, Furina, Xianyun, Chevruse, Bond of Life really are the most gamechanging factors and now we are heading into Nightsoul, and Off-field pyro meta that isnt burst reliant like xiangling, thoma. Here's hoping mavuika won't disappoint us.
For the Lisa pairing with Neuvi, I’m pretty sure Hakushin Ring is better than P-Amber, same thing with her Alhaitham support role. 20% damage bonus is really good and the ER substat makes her a lot more tolerable to build.
P-Amber's raw energy refund is also really good. Hakushin Ring is bad for Lisa because she is an off-field support and Hakushin's effect can't be activated off-field (unfortunately, forever sad about it) and its duration is a measly 6s.
I would have added kokomi to the list, the introduction of nilou teams really bumped her up and dendro really made people value the hydro application she provided. Also with furina, she is a decent mono hydro driver. Even Sigewinne was released and people feared kokomi was going to be powercrepted but her hydro application saved her. I think there is recency bias having units like Mona, candace, and dehya on the list which only help mualani (you need c6 Candace which isn’t accessible to most for arlecchino). I would say by that metric, you could just put on xinyan as well even though it’s not really their kit that’s good it just enables mualani to get a huge vape off and with speculations of pyro MC and archon, that role can be easily replaced. Of these characters probably only dehya is justified because her e range is large it can hit everyone so it has aoe scalability and she has some interruption resistance when cast which can help. I also do not agree with Lisa being on the list. It’s like people throwing Gorou on Navia teams at the time for sucking up crystallizes, geo res, and some crit buffs with c6. It works and it was good, but it’s not like it made Gorou next level, it’s really just a budget option for if you didn’t have chiori or zhongli. Now units like kachina and xilonen can blow Gorou out of the water in Navia teams. I think the other electro units especially keqing more-so deserve a spot on the list. I also saw another comment if you’re adding Emile you should add chiori.
I’m still relying on Kokomi every day. She’s got massive range, she’s got healing, and she does surprisingly good damage on-field during her burst. Non-negligible for sure. Together with Baizhu, the team is literally unkillable.
I build candace because I really like her. Since her debut. I dont really care about meta but recently she pop off and I am so proud of her. Recently my candace did 70k dmg. I was so impressed 😭 Thoma is the second one that I really like.
Love Gacha Smack. Awesome that you shouted him out. Hope you do an "aged like milk" episode as well! (edit: made it to the end. can't wait for the goat milk episode)
Gatcha smack is the most obnoxious person I’ve seen exactly what we outside the states think of when we think ‘American’ Loud, abrasive and cruel for fun
I feel like Emilie is far too new to be on this list, especially since she started with positive reception anyway. It would probably be better to have Kokomi take that slot. The negative reaction to her lack of crit damage meant she started with a poor reputation day 1. On top of that, people were comparing her to Barbruh. She healed better but that was pretty much it back then. Now she has dendro and furina and maybe other stuff that I'm missing.
I’m sure this is just a personal experience thing, but I saw a lot of Emilie hate on release, people did not think she had a place on too many teams and was hoping she would do more for burn-melt. I think Jello’s take is reasonable if seeing this hate was his experience on release even though it was a really fast turn around.
I feel like the response to Emilie was split between people who doomposted her and people who saw her potential. The one thing people seemed to agree on is that her full potential would probably be tied to Natlan characters, most notably Kinich. Given how well she works with both Mualani and Kinich, she is technically aging well. She was great on release, but the new teams do increase her value. Mavuika or pyro MC will probably give her a good off-field pyro alternative to Xiangling(/Dehya/Thoma/Xinyan/...), maybe even an upgrade
I agree, I think Kokomi deserves to be here more. Emilie literally got better the the next version after she was released. Meanwhile Kokomi was deemed useless for moths, then people realized she was good in freeze, which even back then wan't the best and everyone pretty much said that she's worse than Mona in freeze. Only after almost a year after release when dendro came out did the public opinion start to change more.
Hu Tao aged as fine wine for me. She went from hitting 30K per charged attack when I first got her in 2020 to hitting 150K with the help of Furina. She’s really a power house and goes neck and neck with my Alrecchino in terms of power level.
I concur this. She really gained more and more damage over time. With MH being her artifact upgrade on top of all the new teammates she gained over the years.
@@ubelmensch new charas also have the benefit of using improved artifacts/good supports. the overall damage floor has increased for every chara, old or new :D
Great fun video. Personally I'd say that ranking them from their lowest point compared to now is better than comparing release to now. The game was so different in 1.0 that a ton of bad characters were considered 'good'. Disqualifying Jean for that reason, while not disqualifying Diluc seems pretty random.
yeah she was considered the first 3 star character on release, but I guess it's because he did a whole separate video on her already, talking about all that.
That would only make sense if she was bad on release, which she wasn't. Its more like people imagined her to be bad and only later realised how useful she actually was. On the other hand, someone like Shinobu truly wasn't that good until Dendro
Kokomi fell off tbh, but not because she's bad or anything like that, but rather every abyss since the release of Furina is just not that good for Kokomi, except for that one with all the pyro shields
Good list but Mona is a quite coping, sry. Her only value is as a showcase character. But even that has become invalidated with Furina and now definitely with Xilo. She got worse with time if anything. Emilie and even Jean were never bad. So shouldnt had made the list. Other than that, good list!
Yanfei's homing normal attacks and splash of aoe damage just makes her straight up better, even if Yoimiya has a higher damage ceiling. But I will admit I absolutely love Yoi in a Raiden Chev team. I picked up Raiden solely to play her in Chev teams for Yoi and Chev (Lynney's fun with it too).
I beg to differ, but Yae and Keqing should be ranked higher. Keqing pre-aggravate sucked. Keqing post-dendro had a higher skill floor before Yaoyao came out, and even before Baizhu came out. Then Xilonen helped Keqing tremendously, especially in ST, allowing comfortably slotting in Nahida as the dendro teammate. Yae also was a sidegrade to Fischl on release. Aggravate helped her a lot, but Yae is also tremendously valued in overloaded, with her random targeting allowing a spread of the res shred caused by overloads to apply to many, and she has a wider range of attack than Fischl. She also gains much from energy provided from C1 Chevreuse. I can only think Yae would gain a lot from Ororon in v5.2. Would like to add Itto to the list too. Itto has always been solid, but his teams have improved and recently, became more flexible. So after Gorou, his teams got added edition of Chiori, increasing his team dps floor as Chiori is far more consistent in dps than Albedo whose construct snaps like a twig on being tripped on. Then came Kachina who can buff his defense with her C4, apply off field geo with unbreakable geo construct, and especially use the Cinder City set. And then the largest Itto savior is Xilonen. Breaking off Itto's shackles to mono-geo, she restored Itto teams and introduced him to new team compositions, inclusing hypercarry Itto with Furina + Bennett or a double hydro Itto with Furina + Yelan, and it additionally meant he could use Marechaussee Hunter, a far more resin-efficient set to farm and spend resin on than the domain Husk lies in. Could even lend Itto a DEF goblet from the sheer amount of dmg bonus he'd get from Cinder City, Furina's fanfare, geo resonance, Marechausse 2pc, and Yelan's A1 passive. Thats like 180% dmg bonus for Itto's Charged Attacks with Furina's fanfare maxed. Personally, my Itto build on MH is ER/DEF/Crit DMG since Xilonen is only geo teammate and her geo ans fav particles arent being directly funneled to Itto. May need to fav Yelan if using DEF sands on Itto.
@@ISMythix he was never bad, but he was pretty mid at release - for skilled players he was a Nahida downgrade, for less skilled ones maybe a very slight Yao Yao upgrade. His value and strength significantly rose with introduction of Furina, primarily as a defensive utility for Neuvi and in quickbloom teams.
@@anyanP I agree he got a huge upgrade with furina but saying he was a slight yaoyao upgrade is kinda wild when he healed a lot more, gave a refreshing shield and also buffed every dendro reaction in the game, while also having decent dendro application
Baizhu definitely went up a good bit. He was always a good healer and a decent bloom sub DPS/buffer, but with Sacrificial Jade he became a good Aggravate sub DPS healer/buffer and with Furina he became an excellent buffer. Still, it's really hard to sell those teams. Especially pure Aggravate, no one ever talks about that, so it makes sense he didn't get mentioned. Compare that to Emilie who had to be built around and now instead is a sub DPS to support main DPS's who are already built around the same mechanic. Aggravate didn't see a huge change because of Baizhu, he just sort of became premium for it.
LOL, it's funny, you're Top 3 are chars I plan on building (I haven't started yet since I am working on other chars and I don't want to overwhelm myself). For now I am just putting them in my teapot for now to chill and get extra stuff from them.
I think we should also include how easy it'll be to get constellation for standard banner 5 stars because of the yearly selectors. Dehya shoots up immensely for me because of how much improvement she gets as a character with higher constellations
Another great video from Jello. On fire lately with these vids. I've been trying hard to get both Noelle and Ninguang work on my sub account. I didn't pull Xilonen on my subact cuz the 4 stars she was paired with. With Furina and Goro, Noelle and Ninguang are still tough to use. Even with the current Abyss 2nd half favouring Geo, I couldn't full star clear with Noelle and Nin. I had to go Kinich Emilie Bennett XL for a comfy clear. Will try to get Xilonen on the subact once she reruns.
Will you make a list of characters who aged like milk? Also, 6:45 yanfei was already competing with klee on release because her range was better and less clunky Also also: love that you used the splash arts instead of just the smaller heads. Shows the element better and the art is just beautiful
cool af jello. id want to see the video you made months ago like "if you here this 5 you beat the game", it'd be really really cool to see another video like this with chasca release
Emilie is really really good (i have her and I love her, she is my favorite dendro character by far) but she has only been released in 4.8. I think she shouldn't be on this list yet. We don't know yet how good she will age. Time to measure this is to short and she was good from the start. And from her release, it was already expected that she would be even beter with the release of Nathlan characters.
8:16 Thoma really is an amazing unit now. My only gripe about him is 2 things: 1. His Burst cost is dang too high at 80. It should have been 60 or below if you asked me. 2. He should have scaled off with EM & HP (just like Kuki), instead of Atk & HP. This would make his Burgeon do more dmg. I’ve always looked at Kuki & Thoma as Bloom support counterparts. One is for Hyperbloom, the other for Burgeon. but Kuki’s access to trigger Hyperbloom is so easy compared to Thoma with Burgeon. Kuki uses Skill which doesn’t need energy and has 100% Skill uptime with proper constellations. and she heals too! plus she scales off EM & HP. EM is perfect for a Hyperbloom trigger. Thoma, on the other hand, is not exactly built for Burgeon but that is his best role and does a good job with proper EM built + sufficient ER. His access to consistent fire application to trigger Burgeon is not as accessible as Kuki’s access to consistent Electro application. Thoma has to activate Burst to trigger Burgeon consistently. But his Burst is so heavy at 80 energy. and no part of his kit inherently scales off EM. You sacrifice the strength of his HP-scaling shield to give him lots of EM + ER. ER is so crucial with Thoma. if Thoma can’t Burst every rotation, your Burgeon will not happen. Thoma for me is by far the most challenging to build if you wanna use him for Burgeon. He wants tons of ER (for Burst), EM (for Burgeon dmg), HP (for Shield) and Crit Rate (for Favonius Lance). So many stats to consider. I like Thoma a lot, but he wasn’t fundamentally built for Burgeon just like Raiden for Hyperbloom. Thoma is really great with Burgeon, but we need an actual Burgeon Pyro character that inherently scales off EM, and either has low Burst cost for pyro application or has Skill with 100% uptime with constellations just like Kuki’s Skill.
Personally I'd put Xiao in this list because while he was strong for the time of his release, slowly having the replacements for his original team with Bennett, Zhongli and Albedo, getting Faruzan then Furina and lastly Xianyun made him from like B tier in single target, A tier in multitarget, to having no weakness (except against Anemo immune enemy).
The problem I have with these videos is they're all geared toward Spiral Abyss. I understand that it's an important part of many people's game and it's what people come here for so you're doing good work. The fact that can I still go into co-op rooms with rank 60 characters and we all wipe out on the Narwhal or in a domain and everyone rage quits means that I think there's a need for a good co-op channel.
You mean guides abt co-op or what?? But if so, what do you need a co-op guide for...I mean, you're already getting help from other players in co-op like that's the point of co-op so where exactly do you mean there's a need for good co-op channel? (idk if my question sounds rude or anything but I'm genuinely curious) (Also, if you meant that you just want to see how ppl may interact with other players in co-op, there are plenty of channels that do that already...) And idk what you mean by rage quitting...if you mean they get mad at each other for no reason and then quit, then you're probably just rlly unlucky with co-op players unfortunately.
Bruh, the only way you team wipe in co-op is if everyone is selfish and nobody picks the healer. Like 95% of the time I go ahead and do it myself because I know that at least if I'm the healer I'm getting my drops no matter what.
Noelle deserves to be higher. Her usage rate in the abyss increased by sooo much. Also my Noelle plunges for the same amount of dmg your Diluc did in your Video with Xilonen. So yeah i don't see why diluc is that much higher
true and top of that diluc in early year of genshin are top tier dps, its hero to hero lol keqing need to be higher, she is the worst dps back then, and using usage rate on keqing are just criminal, almost everyone have her, of course it will be low and wtf with lisa, its too niche and not even bis
Idk I’d say Yae Miko is one of the most improved characters since her release she’s had many team and passive upgrades through furina, nahida, xilonen and Chevy overload she’s very good in her current state compared to her release
yeah, a lot of people talk about dendro, but her current BiS artifact set also came out with Sumeru. Both of which took half a year after her release to come out.
The Ningguang part felt completely clueless. Ningguang always had good damage and didn't need Xilonen for that. I cleared the current abyss using a team of Chiori, Zhongli, a barely built Mona, and Ningguang and you can even find a guy on here soloing the first half of the current Abyss with her. So Xilonen isn't necessary at all. Simply looking at the numbers she does around 4000% scaling with lots of damage bonuses built in from herself and her BiS set in a span of about 5s and easily does that every rotation thanks to low cooldowns. Now for the real reasons Ningguang does deserve to be on this list despite all that. 1 - The introduction of Navia and Furina both were huge for her. Both came with artifact sets that were perfect fits for her when she just didnt have a truly good set before. Nighttime is great for more classic Ningguang teams and Furina + her set opens her up to more comfortably actually taking advantage of Ningguang's good scaling. 2 - Ningguang has historically always struggled most with seeing 4-5 enemies at a time due to her extreme single target focus. The Abyss just isnt set up like that anymore so pretty much every Abyss is a perfect for for her now. 3 - Shields seem to be more of a focus for the end game these days and she's one of the best at brute forcing her way through them. Even without a dedicated shield breaker for any element, Ningguang teams can usually break shields anyways. 4 - The amount of options for a second Geo character is way better than it used to be. A lot of people are trying out Ningguang again and going "WOW Xilonen did so much for her!" when the reality is that the game has just slowly become more favorable for her over time and people just didn't realize thanks to her being written off as clunky early on. Its years worth of improvements being credited to one character lol.
I think that if Emilie gets to be on the list that Chiori deserves mention too. She is a unit who has also gotten better overtime since her release. Between Kachina, Navia and Xilonen shes got a bunch of teams that she can fit on whether shes C0 or C1. Shes also had consistently high usage rates. I would also say that Noelle should be higher on the list. She was great in version 2.0 with Gorou, Redhorn, Husk but went dormant for most of 3.0 but post Furina all of those teams have gotten much better. She also got another bump with Xiloen. Noelle in 1.0 vs today looks like a completely different character.
I don't know if I can say Chiori aged well, only new character who she work with out of boy is Kachina. I would say instead het she was always good just people slept on her because she is niche, little like Emilé.
people were talking about Xilonen being powercreep for her, I'm glad it was the opposite, they work so well together that it really pushed her potential as an off-field dps for so many teams its crazy. I pulled her c1 in the last banner and I'm only regretting it because its TOO good lol. Many of my best dps just want chiori, Xilonen now to get their best performance. But I love that units like Yoimiya and Ganyu, who I've had since their initial banners but just haven't used in years since they don't keep up in performance, I'm stoked that the geo duo truly elevates them. My yoimiya team with chiori, xilonen, yelan out-damages my hu tao plunge team in single target now, which was honestly unbelievable to me since my Hu Tao is top 100 in the akasha leaderboards for deathmatch furina double hydro.
@@stephenlittle332 had the exact same experience. I remember seeing stuff like 'Xilonen will kick Chiori out of her only team!'. With her C1 though (also got it last banner, just for the Xilonen combo), they play together so perfectly its kinda nuts. Chiori became one of the biggest heavy hitters on my account overnight. I think Chiori+Xilonen with either Furina or Arle should be my strongest team now, though I just like to play them with whatever duo comes to mind most of the time because anything else is usually just overkill. One thing in particular I appreciate is how much longevity and flexibility they should have together. I dont really see a world where Chiori+Xilonen+Mavuika+ wouldn't be an amazing team and with a hint more copium, I'm also secretly hoping for a Chiori+Xilonen+Citlali+Shenhe All that said though, I dont think Chiori should be on this list because it does take her C1 to really capitalize on Xilonen in particular.
@@reactiondavant-garde3391nah, Chiori did age pretty well. Pretty good with Navia and mono geo to begin with, but Cinder City and Xilonen buffed her a lot. The best double geo core now is Chiori (c1 especially) + Xilonen. Can pretty much flex it everywhere. We don't have any better off field geo dps, so Xilonen's geo res shred isn't wasted on non-geo dps teams with the case of Chiori. She also had Kachina as budget option buffing her through Kachina's temporarily or Cinder City.
Yea I'm going to have to disagree on Dehya and Yae. Dehya should be a few spots higher if nothing else for being the most hated character in existence, to the point of causing major player burnout, increased levels of toxicity, and game droppage, and still ended up becoming such a flexible unit that's now meta in several teams, and only improves with relatively easy to get cons. She's good in burgeon, great with the last 2 patches of carries, invests well with Chev and any electro dps. Lisa, as much as I love her and had been waiting for this month's shop to c6 her, shouldn't be above Yae. I know electro as an element is very "interchangable" between it's units, but Yae is literally a one stop shop for ypur electro needs. On fielder damage while off field, and scales better into reactions. She does more damage as Fischl, and saying otherwise is someone either not playing her right or forgetting that Yae can use Golden Troup too, along with directly scales with EM and is multitarget. Keqing is good from being a safe investment, but she's very much still power crept by Clorinde. Yae meanwhile can be placed alongside your Clorinde/Navias and other shorter duration dps. Like an electro Emilie. Or just be the dps herself. Especially when paired with Tighnari in a perfect rotation or various Chev teams (I loved her with Yanfei even before Chev). I'd also keep an eye on her in a Childe/Ororun team with the EC buff. Kokomi still deserves a mention too. Even with Furina and how good Yelan supposedly is. Kokomi being a role consolidation and good in so many teams, I don't care if she's got less damage or freeze is currently poor. Cryo will come back to being useful, and she's always been a good Tenacity and Thrilling Tales holder. She's only going to stay useful the whole time.
baizhu was released with neutral to negative impressions, but now serves his role as the best furina quickbloom healer cyno was so bad on release but has skyrocketed in terms of damage potential with the release of his quickbloom core (furina, nahida, baizhu) i think childe is also a consolation place, because he has withstood the test of time. he released with many criticisms because the playerbase had yet to understand the meta, as well as not having invested into his best team core, the international team core (benny, xiangling, kazuha who was released later). “you will continue to shine like gold…” as said by zhongli, childe has found his place in the meta and become deep-seated, even though he is a 1.X character
Gacha Smack and Jello are so different in their form of expression, but so similar in the quality of their final product. Both possess good analytical skills, without losing their own bias towards certain characters and play styles. Gacha Smack reaction videos are what I like most :)
So glad I got Xilonen after missing out on Furina, Kazuha, and Yelan. I will wait for those three to come back and in the meantime, make sure to get Zhongli, Neuvillette, Mauvika, and Citlali.
Shenhe, Ganyu, Wriothesley, Ayaka and Kaeya will all be on this list next year when Tsaritsa gets released. I can see melt improving slightly in the upcoming months but not for the characters I mentioned. More like for pyro main DPS characters to pair with Mavuika and maybe Citlali. But the true cryo renaissance will be in Snezhneya.
I love to use Dehya and Emilie together. I always pull based on how much I like the character and worry about finding a team for them later, so I was thrilled that I could take these two somewhat-sidelined characters I adore and put them together for a new core. Unfortunately, I don't like Kinich, so I'm hoping either Mavuika or Pyro Traveler make me want to add them to my in-progress burning team.
I need to dust off my Mona. She was my first 5*, and I got her on the Noelle banner in my first 10 pull on it. Her alternate sprint was so nice to have in the early game. Jean and Deyha were staples of my alt account's c0 Neuvi team and hard carried that account for a long time until I picked up Chlorinde as a second main DPS for the account. And I appreciate the audible for Emilie. I even went all in and got her weapon (got me an Aqua for my Fischl in the process...). She straight up rains green death down on everything. Instantly became a part of a new favorite team of Furina - Xianyun - Hu Tao when she was released. Then used with Mualani. And now on a new team I'm really enjoying with Xilonen - Arlecchino - Xinyan. Emilie is such an amazing character. I really like lists like these. It is always nice to hear characters other than just strictly "meta" characters or new characters talked about. People often don't seem to realize what they actually have value-wise in characters on their accounts since they have no idea what sort of teams they can use older and off-"meta" characters on.
I think Dehya deserves a way higher position in terms of glow-up because of her synergy with Neuvillette (in hypervapeburgeon), Emilie, Kinich and a few other teams. Her quick E, low field uptime and capabilities in holding various supportive sets (because she does no damage but disregard that) makes it so that she's a great support with much less ER needs than her other two options (Xiangling and Thoma). I would put her above Diluc under Thoma in terms of glow-up because compared to her initial disastrous reception she has just gotten so much more usable--I've probably completed more abysses with Dehya as a support than I have with Diluc as a DPS personally
Diluc right now has only one meta team. Plunge Xianyun. Otherwise he just isnt that great. It pains me to admit how bad he is as someone who got Diluc from Noelle banner in the first hour of my game
@@lucifermorningstar8387bro be grateful half the dps in the game don't even have what's considered a 'meta' team but dilucs premium team in single target is putting up some insane numbers I was shocked when I saw how high it was on gcsim
I agree. Even though really never BiS teammate by her own merits, she is a very strong and easy 2 use flexible alternative. Others like Xiangling or Thoma, you'd have to spend more effort optimizing builds or energy, and the existence of wayob manifestations is gonna be the bane of all those burst based pyro applicators. Dehya just does her job without energy problems. She is strong alternative for Lyney, hyper-burgeon Neuvillette, better comfort option for overload Clorinde than a pre-c6 Thoma, and even burnvape Mualani teams, as well as for Kinich. Don't know how well Dehya would hold her position over Mavuika though. Probably gonna be a Xingqiu vs Yelan situation, deciding between comfort or offensive power.
I use the most premium team for hutao, being hutao - yelan - furina - xilonen. No matter how much arlechino hits better but hutao is the reason I started playing genshin. Thanks
I disagree with multiple fronts and take, especially with Ning and Lisa aging better compared to Yae and Keqing, Aggra/Spread had always been there and with Xilo Aggra is getting a healer instead of no healer before as well as unlocks hypercarry modes. Yae was almost everywhere since Chevy was a thing, be it with Arlec or Raiden, a simple youtube abyss search could give you all the infos you want, There's so many better choices now then to try to build a 280ER lisa even if she gets close to ZL's contribution, the inclusion of Xilo only makes it worse for Lisa to be used.
To be fair, if you use Lisa correctly in an aggravate team you don't need mind bogling amount of ER to burst off cooldown. But I agree with the Yae take, like, she not just used in aggravate teams anymore, she used in spread and as you said Chevreuse teams as well and then we should nto forget thet she still good in tazer type of teams as well. (EC will be buffed as well so her EM scaleing will be even better)
I think its fair, simply because Lisa and Ningguang were garbage characters 🥶 (sorry, not sorry) Lisa and Ningguang are version one characters with underwhelming kits, therefore they had a larger room to improve, just like Dehya for example. Yae or even Keqing on the other hand are Electro main DPS units who were never as terrible even before Dendro released. Its not a large gap though
"Aggra/Spread had always been there" well thats just not true, we had 2 years of a non dendro meta, and the only good electro chars was raiden and fischl
@@umtaldeamaral You're not interpreting it correct, by your logic then Kuki souldn't even be at the top of the list, since she was regarded as garbage healer before Hyperbloom. The topic was how they age overtime Yae was seen with Raikou/Taser comps while Keqing with hypercarry comps, both aged nicely and gotten a nice boost with the existence of Aggra/Spread even when Clorinde making an entrance both still holds their own, the door is even winder after Chevy, Furina and now Xilo. Lisa and Ning appearance went into the Twighlightzone even after Sumeru. Lisa became a cope option for people that doesn't want to use ZL in Nuevi's tean and the reason we don't see her appearing enough even till today is because to build a Support Lisa you have to give up damage, had to cope with "Holding E (horrible gameplan)" , need to pump above 260ER or have R5 Protoamber/Codex with at least 240+ER, some even want to skip her E hold entirely and that is only possible with double Electro/Raiden or end up having 280-300ER. Lastly Lisa Mains will just use her as Dps so all the ER issues becomes less of a problem but we aren't talking about that here anyways. Overall she's still at most a side-grade for nuevi, so what makes her evolve better?, most of my friend's tried and still sticks to ZL for Nuevi or people are going to tell me go hyperinvest in Neuvi cons so that one could make use of Lisa? 8D for me Xilo made Lisa obsolete is more like it.
I don’t understand the choice to not include Hu Tao and Xiao. Fine wine doesn’t necessitate using only poor wine early in the process of its fermentation. “Zero to Hero” would’ve been a more appropriate video title 😅 Edit: you allowed Emilie even though she started good and has been around for so little time! WTF? Lol😂
Sorry but Yanfei isn't "just better" than Yoimiya. She has more AoE, of course, but loses in ST in basically every team, which is what Yoimiya is made for.
i'm a Jean simp, i just love her. she was my first when i had no idea what i was doing and she's carried me well even though she cant help me 36 star since i have no game play mechanics just mashing.
Maybe you can help me answer my question about the end game plan playing Genshin. My quick background is that I've been playing games for decades and many MMOs. I started playing Genshin about 60 days ago as a value player (I didn't pull for any 5 star). I'm at AR 44 and all 4 of my characters are lv. 80, weapons lv. 80, talents level over 6. From reviews, AR 45 is actually when Genshin Impact combat starts because 5 star artifacts unlock in domains. Also, the insane amount of resources to ascend anything from lv.80 to lv. 90 is equivalent to ascending a single character from lv.1 to lv. 70. The gacha or main enjoyment in Genshin is pulling your favorite character. There are now 89 characters but that has over saturated character market. After 4 years, 90% of characters are considered bad/useless/not optimal because another character can do [insert whatever] better. My dilemma is that if new or old players don't care about pulling new characters, how will Genshin content provide a reason to continue playing? The characters given free/awarded can carry any players to all 8 regions through the archon quests; however, the criticism is that the process is the same and repeated in every region. Combat style, daily quests, material gathering, and Abyss is the same. The catch 22 is every region contains specific materials for a character/weapon ascension, but there would be little to no reason to explore new regions because no need for new characters. AKA Dragonspine region Genshin suffers from the same issues as other legacy MMOs but I didn't realize that I have hit my end game plan with Genshin so soon after only unlocking 3 regions.
For a fairly long time, nearly my entire first year, and abit into my second Yanfei was my best on field dps, then it wasn't until I got raiden that she finally fell out of my main two teams. I might not use her often, but she's one of the characters that shows up during Imaginarium Theater that I feel is reliable to use for a boss wave. This being said, I did have yoimiya for a while but just hated her play style too much to build her.
Yanfei in Burning team together with Emilie and flex with 2 Pyro / Dendro character is awesome , currently I had a team with Emilie and Yao Yao to give Dendro and support , and Xiangling and Yanfei doing the off-field and on field Pyro
Mona seems kinda out of place, but I'm not sure what tier she should be in. She was niche at the very beginning, then became good for a while, then there was a LONG drought of no teams wanting/needing her, and now she's useful again for a couple teams. Maybe like the "broken clock" tier or something? She doesn't have a high quality kit per say, but eventually enough characters come out that 1-2 of them will want her specific upside and she becomes useful again.
In terms of falling off, I can only honestly think of the Kamisato siblings. Both Ayaka and Ayato just aren't good picks anymore and on release they were at least T1. Basically every other character is still good or never was in the first place
Cyno definitely belongs. Because despite the fact that he was having a quit strong team in 3.1; which’s Beidou aggrvate. But after Furina; he got way way stronger. Yes he suffers a bit; with multi waves; with his premium team; which: “Cyno, Baizuh, Nahida, and Furina,” but he’s still very strong. He and my Arlecchino carries me on Abyss. He was also able to kill the three Magu Kinkis in the event; quite easily.
We're not close enough to really have a solid kit. Just some questionable guesses. And the overall prayers of changing up the pyro character meta. The main ideas would be the things Bennett + Xiangling offer (off field, buffing, heals, etc) would be split between Mavuika and pyro traveler. A really safe bet for a Mauvika kit going forward would be assume Dehya, but flip her burst and skill, and trade the tank aspects for buffing.
You can't place Diluc in Zero to Hero since he was considered the best dps on the first months of the game. Zhongli on the other hand, went from low tier to godlike after his buff... Klee also got a huge power up with Furina, since her high pyro application can finally be useful. She is decent in burgeon team too.
yanfei is always pretty good as she is a good driver for XQ and YL and she has the range and auto hits... diluc in 1.0 is like top meta.... mona also in top meta team with morgana in 1.x...
Don’t think Mona and Diluc belong on the list Mona didn’t start out bad she was meta on Morgana teams for a while. Diluc started as a top DPS and fell with each new patch until plunge made him slightly prevalent again. Id put Keqing on the list. Keqing is one of the original characters that went from zero to viable once Dendro was released.
@@Richkero1995 You don't trust the people that do the math? Cause it's her numbers that made her weak, and also the fact that she didn't work with Yelan and Xq so she couldn't vape. She's pretty good now but I'm saying that at her release she was trash
Weird for one of Mona’s points being people can choose her from standard but not used for dehya. Even more weird she’s not zero to hero when she was hailed as the first 3 star character yet furina made more than half this list useful. Furina making dehya a main dps and even one of the stronger standard units with cons while also being good for multiple teams for her slow pyro app and interruption resistance. Ganyu neuvillette mualani etc. Definitely much bigger glow up than everyone in this list. Same for Candace from never used and nigh worthless in everyone’s eyes to being useful for mualani and arlecchino teams now if people can get her c6 at least.
Ngl, kokomi not being on the list is a crime. She received a very similar amount of trash talk as dehya when she came out, and became considered a great option once shenhe came out. Also diluc (from what I remember) was meta from release (literally) so I'd debate xiao being a Much more fitting candidate due to him dropping I dare say even farther than diluc level, but then rose much higher after xianyun came out compared to diluc.
I Know this list is based on popular demand, cause most of them seem to be too universal and perfect for new players. But as a veteran player, I think EMILIE is Slept on so much. I haven't seen ANY character, including Furina...have precise...AOE off field damage like her. Granted its burn focused, but that doesnt mean she can't do hyperbloom too for a couple of seconds. My account before and after her has been shifted. and I have 80 characters. She's incredible. Also a well built Diluc is actually pretty amazing, I love my Diluc and still use him.
I am planning a Dehya, Emilie core w/ Dehya on Mountain King and Baizhu as the third. I'm stuck on if I want Furina since she'll canabalize the burning aura for vapes, but will proc blooms for burgeon. Or, Xianyun for VV shred and plunges. The idea is a Burning Dehya carry so I think Xianyun is the smarter option? Either way, seeing Dehya slowly inching up in value does my heart good.
@@amandaslough125 Who would he replace? Emilie is big burn dendro nuke, and Baizhu doubles burning/burgeon damage. I don't think melting the burn with Chongs infusion would bring more damage than Xianyun/Furina would?
I immediately see that you picked neither Kokomi nor Baizhu, and I’m confused. Both work amazingly with Furina, but Kokomi also got buffed earlier when Dendro released. How are these not even considered?
Imo Noelle started off at a much worse state than Diluc and is now in a much better position. Diluc started off being dominant in the meta whereas Noelle remained irrelevant (even with Zhongli buff and Albedo) until 2.3 when Gorou and Redhorn Stonethresher was finally released and even then she remained under the radar until Furina AND EVEN THEN despite being one of the better carry (and driver) options with the Furina synergy she was still unpopular because of her element. Xilonen and Xilonen C2 now makes her arguably the strongest beginner unit which is insane given that she has so many things working against her (geo, no skill particle generation, claymore, needs lots of investment, not a real support unit).
Well, she did age much better. The releases of Chevreuse, Furina, Emilie, and Kinich have given a big boost in relevance. She is a great co-dps with Raiden, even fine enough herself as the pyro dps in overload teams, and with Mualani, she just fits like a sock with Emilie. Emilie + Dehya is just so good of a combo, you get both dehya to use deepwood, Makhaira Aquamarine for atk buff to Emilie, and Dehya's dmg mitigation on the burning dmg reduction Emilie has, so burning just tickles you.
Top 10 units that aged like Cocogoat Milk 🥛 ruclips.net/video/VMycBdFCHhs/видео.htmlsi=TjTDBTePV8XA0umz
Osmanthus wine is eternal
but those who share the memory aren't
Yeah, if osmanthus wine tastes the same as it did, then it necessarily does not improve in flavour with age!
"Top in 5" in Thumbnail and top 10 in title.I am bamboozled
Lol same 😂
He changed it lol
A top 10 list inherintly includes a top 5 list...😄
It says top 10 in thumbnail
And a top 3 in the end. 😂
- Yunjin is still waiting for an off-field Normal ATK character. You're wasting 100 stacks of her Burst every time you use it (C4 Childe is the only one who can use it 💀)
- Dori is coping that Co-op becomes a relevant endgame content since her Burst scales with the number of player on field.
I got so frustrated when I came back to genshin only to find cryo fell off abysmally… my whole account was centered around cryo, I have all the cryo 5* other than wrio and built supports specifically for my cryo teams 😭 I really hope it makes a comeback in the next region
wait yunjin has the stacks independetly for everyone?? shed be so fucking op with an offield NA character wtf citlali trust
Yeah I always thought not applying cryo when you "freeze" the boss is stupid. Like it makes it impossible to swirl, and the best cryo artifact set loses its usefulness. PLEASE Hoyo, fix this
@@florlscntSheznaya is on the way so don't lose hope! Ayayaya
freeze should be still applied on boss, but its just slowing them down, or a mini stun, so it freeze shatter again and again so cryo can utilize em more
i think it can be a bandage to freeze
Thanks for all your hard work! I got my first 36 star yesterday thanks to your advice 🎉
Considering Childe is from near-launch and is still the linchpin in one of the best all-purpose teams in the game, I'd say he aged well.
Dendro, Marechaussee Hunter, Furina, Xianyun, Chevruse, Bond of Life really are the most gamechanging factors
and now we are heading into Nightsoul, and Off-field pyro meta that isnt burst reliant like xiangling, thoma. Here's hoping mavuika won't disappoint us.
Lmao, that was fast... I remember when I voted on this poll
Hakushin Ring is bad for Lisa because she is an off-field support and Hakushin's effect can't be activated off-field (unfortunately, forever sad about it) and its duration is a measly 6s.
yeah hakushen is great too
I would have added kokomi to the list, the introduction of nilou teams really bumped her up and dendro really made people value the hydro application she provided.
I think he's way off with Mona.
She fell off since Furina was introduced, who basically does everything she does but better.
As a Kokomi enjoyer, i have to say she is past her prime (which was at about Furina's release).
I’m still relying on Kokomi every day. She’s got massive range, she’s got healing, and she does surprisingly good damage on-field during her burst. Non-negligible for sure. Together with Baizhu, the team is literally unkillable.
She already have freeze back then
I build candace because I really like her.
Since her debut. I dont really care about meta but recently she pop off and I am so proud of her.
Recently my candace did 70k dmg.
I was so impressed 😭
Thoma is the second one that I really like.
Thank you for showing Candace love!!!! I’m building her rn cause i have her C6
Been playing Yanfei ever since her release, Furina definetly made her better, especially with hunter set and Neuvilette's signature
Lisa surprised me positively in last month's Imaginarium, so I'm planning to build her better soon. Always nice to see older characters shine :)
Love Gacha Smack. Awesome that you shouted him out. Hope you do an "aged like milk" episode as well! (edit: made it to the end. can't wait for the goat milk episode)
Gatcha smack is the most obnoxious person I’ve seen exactly what we outside the states think of when we think ‘American’
Loud, abrasive and cruel for fun
@@TheRoleplayer40kFr though
I've been using Emilie with Mono-Pyro Lyney, and I gotta say, she hits hard.
I think Jello did a really good job with his criteria here. Cant wait for the Cocogoat milk video!
Diluc was top DPS at one point, and for that he should be around Jean in the list. Good list otherwise
That's where I'd put him too honestly
Hu Tao aged as fine wine for me. She went from hitting 30K per charged attack when I first got her in 2020 to hitting 150K with the help of Furina. She’s really a power house and goes neck and neck with my Alrecchino in terms of power level.
Of course Furina is good but could it be possible that you happen to have obtained better artifacts during those 4 years?
I concur this. She really gained more and more damage over time. With MH being her artifact upgrade on top of all the new teammates she gained over the years.
@@ubelmensch new charas also have the benefit of using improved artifacts/good supports. the overall damage floor has increased for every chara, old or new :D

Furina yelan xilonen literally almost doubled her team DPS , add that yelan can use elgay , furina cons etc
Nah, her hameplay is auwful
bro forgot razor, he went from 4* physical dps to 4* hyperburgeon dps
Great fun video. Personally I'd say that ranking them from their lowest point compared to now is better than comparing release to now. The game was so different in 1.0 that a ton of bad characters were considered 'good'. Disqualifying Jean for that reason, while not disqualifying Diluc seems pretty random.
Was hoping for more than 10 seconds on Dehya seeing as she was once considered the worst 5 star
yeah she was considered the first 3 star character on release, but I guess it's because he did a whole separate video on her already, talking about all that.
Kokomi is the staple of “characters that aged like fine wine” can’t believe she wasn’t mentioned lol
I mean she was always a good healer enabler
That would only make sense if she was bad on release, which she wasn't. Its more like people imagined her to be bad and only later realised how useful she actually was. On the other hand, someone like Shinobu truly wasn't that good until Dendro
Kokomi fell off tbh, but not because she's bad or anything like that, but rather every abyss since the release of Furina is just not that good for Kokomi, except for that one with all the pyro shields
More like aged like milk
People thought she was bad because of stupidity or laziness, same way as they thought Bennett was bad because they compared directly to Diluc
Good list but Mona is a quite coping, sry. Her only value is as a showcase character. But even that has become invalidated with Furina and now definitely with Xilo.
She got worse with time if anything.
Emilie and even Jean were never bad. So shouldnt had made the list. Other than that, good list!
7:06 "Better than yoimiya" crying as a yoimiya main 😢
At single target she’s definitely better.
+ Sethos >>>> Yoimiya
Just joking. 😂❤️
Its not even true, but CCs always clown on Yoimiya
May need to fav Yelan if using DEF sands on Itto.
really fun list to watch! also i just wanna say i love the 8bit music u used in the outro! 🥰🔥
Emilie is too new to have aged at all. Also, to not include Zhongli in an Osmanthus Wine list? Shame on you!
Bro forgot Baizhu, he was pretty mid pre-Furina and improved significantly with her
He was never mid it's just that ppl thought he was
He was never mid.
Probably Raiden too, with overload and taser teams, she's doing better than ever
Tighnari about to be at the top of this list when Iansan is a spread/aggrivate buffer / sub dps ❤❤❤❤
That Ningguang gameplay was rough
Will you make a list of characters who aged like milk?
Also, 6:45 yanfei was already competing with klee on release because her range was better and less clunky
Also also: love that you used the splash arts instead of just the smaller heads. Shows the element better and the art is just beautiful
I have been watching for a long time and how did I miss the Mayday Parade and So Wrong, It's Right in the background 🤣
cool af jello. id want to see the video you made months ago like "if you here this 5 you beat the game", it'd be really really cool to see another video like this with chasca release
My only gripe about him is 2 things:
LFG finally Mona is good! She’s really fun to use with navia. She lets you make some crazy screenshot numbers with navia skill
Forever below Tao. That's where he belongs...
@@clementwg3477 why? Do people hate Xiao?
@@th0r0shvener52 because he's an emo
(idk if my question sounds rude or anything but I'm genuinely curious) (Also, if you meant that you just want to see how ppl may interact with other players in co-op, there are plenty of channels that do that already...)
And idk what you mean by rage quitting...if you mean they get mad at each other for no reason and then quit, then you're probably just rlly unlucky with co-op players unfortunately.
So yeah i don't see why diluc is that much higher
true
and top of that diluc in early year of genshin are top tier dps, its hero to hero lol
keqing need to be higher, she is the worst dps back then, and using usage rate on keqing are just criminal, almost everyone have her, of course it will be low
and wtf with lisa, its too niche and not even bis
Noelle's actually cracked. She's been best girl since day 1.
Noelle Xilonen Furina Yelan is like the best version of Unga Bunga team right now. Between Noelle shields and her healing you just cant die
I dont really see a world where Chiori+Xilonen+Mavuika+ wouldn't be an amazing team and with a hint more copium, I'm also secretly hoping for a Chiori+Xilonen+Citlali+Shenhe
All that said though, I dont think Chiori should be on this list because it does take her C1 to really capitalize on Xilonen in particular.
She's only going to stay useful the whole time.
baizhu was released with neutral to negative impressions, but now serves his role as the best furina quickbloom healer
cyno was so bad on release but has skyrocketed in terms of damage potential with the release of his quickbloom core (furina, nahida, baizhu)
i think childe is also a consolation place, because he has withstood the test of time. he released with many criticisms because the playerbase had yet to understand the meta, as well as not having invested into his best team core, the international team core (benny, xiangling, kazuha who was released later). “you will continue to shine like gold…” as said by zhongli, childe has found his place in the meta and become deep-seated, even though he is a 1.X character
Cyno requires crazy investments but his premium team obliterates everything. And he feels engaging to play with his qte skills.
Strange to not even mention Dori. She have suprising amunt of teams now and all of them pretty good. (C6 assumed)
I wanna use Dori soooo bad but no one ever talks about her 😭
@@yaoipurpleheart Are you own C6 Dori? If yes I can give some advice how to build her and what teams she good in.
Emilie and Chev both boosted Dehya significantly.
I’ve never been so early keep up the great work jelloooo!!!

I think its fair, simply because Lisa and Ningguang were garbage characters 🥶 (sorry, not sorry)
Lisa and Ningguang are version one characters with underwhelming kits, therefore they had a larger room to improve, just like Dehya for example. Yae or even Keqing on the other hand are Electro main DPS units who were never as terrible even before Dendro released. Its not a large gap though
Yae and Keqing were never complete garbage though 😅
Jean has always been A tier, and I think that's harder to do than always being in s tier or f tier
Allow me to introduce Childe. A great dps and hydro applier but a tier below the hydro pump dragon
Nah, Jean was A tier on release, then fell to as low as D or C tier throughout Inazuma and Sumeru, and rose back to maybe B or C+ with Furina.
@@yerriff8115she was good in Inazuma because sunfire mechanic was discovered during that time iirc
Baizhu should be on here. Before furina I never see him on spiral abyss but not he always on in the top 10
I don’t understand the choice to not include Hu Tao and Xiao. Fine wine doesn’t necessitate using only poor wine early in the process of its fermentation. “Zero to Hero” would’ve been a more appropriate video title 😅
Edit: you allowed Emilie even though she started good and has been around for so little time! WTF? Lol😂
Sorry but Yanfei isn't "just better" than Yoimiya. She has more AoE, of course, but loses in ST in basically every team, which is what Yoimiya is made for.
Her lack of single target damage makes up for the fact she can flex into support roles better.
i'm a Jean simp, i just love her. she was my first when i had no idea what i was doing and she's carried me well even though she cant help me 36 star since i have no game play mechanics just mashing.
Lisa, Kuki, Dori, Dehya, Candace and Jean for me some of my favourites is the game 🙌🏽
AKA Dragonspine region
Genshin suffers from the same issues as other legacy MMOs but I didn't realize that I have hit my end game plan with Genshin so soon after only unlocking 3 regions.
YAY! NEW VIDEO, LOVE IT❤
A broke god once said: "Osmanthus wine tastes the same as I remember... But where are those who share the memory?"
Mona seems kinda out of place, but I'm not sure what tier she should be in. She was niche at the very beginning, then became good for a while, then there was a LONG drought of no teams wanting/needing her, and now she's useful again for a couple teams. Maybe like the "broken clock" tier or something? She doesn't have a high quality kit per say, but eventually enough characters come out that 1-2 of them will want her specific upside and she becomes useful again.
nah u ain't gonna make me watch Gacha Smack of all channels💀
Ong 💀
Ong 💀 not about to give rev to the big drama 3
who?
Kokomi aged like kokomi milk.
I will lmao if when szeniha drops and everyone starts maining qiqi
Let's do it!
2:08 Regarding ningguang, what are her best teams with xilonen?
Most likely xilonen furina bennett
The core team
ningguang - xilonen - support like furina, yelan, etc
@@mlodydepres Bennett furina xilonen
@mlodydepres start the rotation after furina lowers the party hp then u swap to xilo then Bennett to fully stack fanfair
So is there already information what role and kit Mavuika will have, as hes talking like he knows her kit? (replacing Thoma)
Zhongli is overrated tbh.
yanfei is always pretty good as she is a good driver for XQ and YL and she has the range and auto hits...
diluc in 1.0 is like top meta....
mona also in top meta team with morgana in 1.x...
Kuki #1 I pulled for her simply because she was an electro healer when the chasm released. Even before dendro she was really strong.
Don’t think Mona and Diluc belong on the list
Mona didn’t start out bad she was meta on Morgana teams for a while.
Diluc started as a top DPS and fell with each new patch until plunge made him slightly prevalent again.
Id put Keqing on the list. Keqing is one of the original characters that went from zero to viable once Dendro was released.
it's true I forgot about morgana for mona. diluc was only perceived to be a top DPS so i'm not sure about tha tone
lot of Mondstadt divas on this list
I feel like a lot of players underestimate “Tome of the Eternal Flow;” it’s actually quite a strong choice!! 7:18
Dehya always been good, current event stage one is great to test overbugeon team.
No she hasn’t, people thought she was a joke at the start…
@Slixix04 so original
@@Richkero1995 Idk if you just didn't follow any youtube during her release, but she might be the worst 5* on release during genshin history
@@Slixix04 meh i don't trust youtubers about this stuff, still rocking Dehya in overburgeon team.
No baizhu mention either, yet another character nearly 0 to hero cause of furina pulling out from the grave even if he was in some cyno teams.
Ngl, kokomi not being on the list is a crime. She received a very similar amount of trash talk as dehya when she came out, and became considered a great option once shenhe came out.
Also diluc (from what I remember) was meta from release (literally) so I'd debate xiao being a Much more fitting candidate due to him dropping I dare say even farther than diluc level, but then rose much higher after xianyun came out compared to diluc.
that title is so goated haha
What about Chongyun so you can melt your own burns?

@@Cajun_Seasoningexactly she’s gotten so many good uses in teams now I don’t why people she’s totally useless
I mean, objectively speaking, she has gotten more value, but Mavuika will prob end her.
Diluc is "from hero to zero to plunge-hero".
Yo Klee ahould be here! Furina and Emilie brought her up and we could see something interesting with Citlali if things go well 🤔
