My absolute favorite Montale fragrance is Sensual Instinct. I also enjoy Ristretto and Arabians Tonka. However, I'm not a fan of the key thingy on the sprayer.
I will never get tired of ristretto intense cafe. It’s so addicting! I think I may be in the minority on this one, but I actually love Montale bottles and the jangly stopper 😂❤
I love coffee in any form and have enjoyed the original Intense Cafe. I have now put on my list Vanilla Cake, Sensual Instinct, and Ristretto. I do kind of like those bottles -- unique and clever.
OUD TOBACCO is a compliment getter! With Montale, just a few sprays and trigger control. It lasts and lasts. You’ll smell it on the clothes when you wash the clothes, even when you only sprayed your skin.
I love Honey Aoud. I have that & Floris Honey Oud. They are both fantastic. The Montale is more fun & the Floris is more of a classy formal scent. Both 10/10's.

I have sensual instinct because you talked about it before. I really like it and people love it on me. I want Arabians tonka and Vanilla cake. People say Arabians Tonka is strong. It doesn't seem strong when I tried the sample.

Dark Vanilla was my first Montale purchase, and it was a blind buy. It was very off-putting, I even considered selling it or trading it. I gave it a second try a few months later and it really is a stunning scent and very potent.
My all time favorites from montale are ristretto intense cafe and arabians tonka. I also like chocolate greedy for holidays, it smells like chocolate cookies for me (but I know you hate that one). But I don't feel Sensual Instinct whatsoever. I guess that's ambroxan that I can't stand. Same situation with Amber Fever and Her by Burberry. I only smell that note, and the 3 are absolutely identical for me 😢

It all boils down to if you feel fine wearing it it’s marketed and targeted unisex. The only reason fragrances get targeted for men and for women from the designers is because they use a spokesmodel. If it’s a woman representing the fragrance it’s a woman’s fragrance if it’s a man representing the fragrance, it’s a man’s fragrance. So that should explain. 😀
I agree the bottles are cheap and therefore some of the masterpiece fragrances get overlooked. The fragrances are super strong and on a different league to many niche and designer fragrances

indeed, the bottles, visuals and branding is so bad and tacky! They could benefit from a radical image change. That being said, two days ago I ordered my first Montale, the Full Incense :)
I got a sample of Arabians Tonka direct from montale, and the sample must have been spoiled because it smelled horrid on my skin like burnt plastic. I wonder about the quality of those samples. I also got dark aoud, which I liked so i bought a bottle. And i realized the sample I got was only the sandlewiod base, the top of the fragrance was non-existent like it evaporated off and only the base was left.
This niche brand is like 3 steps below a solid designer house like Dior. The ingredients are not high quality, the bottles are weird, the obsession with very fake oud accords is confusing, the fragrances are poorly named and sometimes have no relation to what the fragrance smells like. Not a Montale fan in general. I have yet to try one that I'd buy

I love dark vanilla for winter. My favorites are oud tobacco, honey aoud, and arabians tonka.

I think the intense roses musk is a much better flanker, and quite unisex. Honey aoud & out tobacco are the best for fall/winter hands down.
I have Aoud Melody that I like at this time of the year while it is still very warm at times.

The bottles resemble the containers in which the perfume oils are delivered. It's made to preserve the fragrance. Pierre Montale kept it on purpose.
