    I love the Shasta and I'm okay with the design change. The only thing I'm truly upset about is that everything attacks it! Just let it be ignored or add a fear roar

      Agreed, Mosa/Tuso would be logical, and I understand that they don't want the water to be *too* safe... but something this big has no business being mobbed by Anglers, Mantas and Eels...

    God, I don't understand how people play on official rates, life is too short. As far as the Shastasaurus goes, my issue with it is just that to own one requires a big commitment to a undersea base. You can't cryo them (or whatever pokeball mod you use) while they're wearing the saddle and you can't remove the saddle if you've actually built any structures inside of it, which means it probably has to stay out in the world all the time, which mean you need a place to safely park it. No other creature requires so much specific infrastructure to use. I like the creature itself and I like the taming method, absurd official rates aside it's way less annoying than the Faso to tame.

      The Dino Depot mod promotes its ability to capture platform saddle tames and add all structures to the player inventory. I have not tested this myself, but it's worth giving a look if you are wanting this base to work for you. I also love making platform saddle bases. Exited to check this one out! The sub should be on the top. Look weird but I'd rather my beast bashing the sea floor rather than my HOUSE

    I've tamed quite a few of these on official of course only during 3x weekends... for it to be such a large kibble demand I wish they would have it more useable no one wants to swim around at speeds slower than a dunky. They also could have given us a regular saddle option that just allowed you to use the sonar, flashbang, and pulse without the clunky belly portion

    (3:36) Thats not to bad actually. Granted your right, it's obviously not meant to be a predator like the Mosa. But a lot of people do use the Basilo for the underwater caves (especially on the Island map) and if this is true about the Shastasaurus doing slightly more damage than the basilo. Then that would mean you will have some decent protection form most underwater creatures (especially if you put a lot of points into melee damage). 🎚⬆🐋✊💥
    (8:45) Big deal, just try to avoid colliding with any obstacles when your in the depths of the ocean. Yeah it might suck that your creature that was inside the sub like saddle to be outside and be annoying to get back inside. But at the same time I think some players need to be more careful and not just ram into everything willy nilly lol. 🌊🚄🦖

  • @omnivice14
    @omnivice14 23 дня назад

    I think my main issue with the saddle is that it breaks... 'way' too much. Given how much I get attacked with the Shasta, I don't get a lot of time in the water before I need to make critical repairs. So I think they either need to allow the small Tek Transporter for easier back-and-forth access, or make it much... much sturdier. Or... you know... not make it an aggro sponge.
    I could also just be bad at designing the inside, since it seems like it's requires a somewhat self-sufficient build.
    The saddle design isn't my favorite, the terrain clipping does stink, and the speed is... questionable. But like the Oasisaur, I think their main focus was making a moving fortress, which by itself is a 'huge' boon for some people. The problem is... it's in the water. There's a very limited amount of water to roam and hide in for that level of dedication to an underwater base.
    If we had a more official Waterworld-esque or a near full submersion map (with limited sky roof, no fliers, and more dedication to more amphibious and super depth creatures), I could see it being not just a more viable tame, but an invaluable one.

    I just think it should have another basic saddle as a "sub"-stitute. All us players just really wanted another massive water tame. No use making it a pain to use with a saddle that puts you 20 meters below the 3rd person camera.

    • @freynlives
      @freynlives  3 месяца назад +1

      Interestingly if you forcetame it you ride it by standing on it's back, so it's possible there was a regular saddle at some time, or it's a left over from when they tried a top-side one.
      You can also use admin to destroy the submarine while keeping the saddle in tact as well (still drives it from below tho haha)

    The Shasta actually sucks, its base hp is high but it has the same increase as the Mosa meaning at higher levels it’s actually less tanky than a Basilo or Tuso, its base damage is also not too bad but its attack speed, ai and aoe sucks so its still useless for combat, its saddle is way too hard to make and it gets attacked by everything, it has no use aside from the submarine base but its too small to have a proper base and doesn’t allow multiple things that are very important

    • @freynlives
      @freynlives  3 месяца назад

      IIRC all tames increase at the same % per point invested, altho interestingly with the Shasta it seems that it is a % of 3600, NOT 4500 (e.g if it was 10% then every wild health point is worth 360, not the expected 450), but should still be higher than anything else in the end.
      The biggest issue imo is just that it shouldn't get swarmed by all of the tiny sea creatures the way it does.

    • @joeygamingnl2724
      @joeygamingnl2724 3 месяца назад

      @@freynlives I mean like how much they increase per point in the wild or by mutations since the Shasta increases the same as the Mosa while the Basi and Tuso increase more even though they have less base hp

    • @freynlives
      @freynlives  3 месяца назад

      Ahh my apologies I misread (half asleep!) and thought you meant the Mosa overtook it. Yea the Basi seems to be 0.2x per wild point while the Shasta is 0.12x (or 0.18x/0.175x respectively when tamed), so it will eventually overtake indeed.
      You're absolutely correct that the Basi remains the better sea tank then, easier to tame, more HP potential, regen, better saddle availability and even a touch quicker. Shasta has arguably better utility but the question is how much is it necessary. Although I do have one potential use for it, albeit a rare one .. >.>

      Honestly the worst thing about the Shasta is that EVERYTHING in the ocean aggros onto it. Mosas and Tusos I get. But eels, mantas, xiphs and sharks really shouldn't acknowledge it unless attacked first.
      Also, I don't believe it's immune to shock, so both eels and jellies are a problem for it.

    I think its a crap dino and has no purpose it's just a gimick, not only does the saddle look dumb ... it can be broken something that is basically a tek saddle shouldn't have durability especially if you need a tek replicator to craft it in. Other problems are how slow this thing is and how rubbish the attacks are and the attack cooldowns need to be reduced as currently 60 secs is a long time to knockback packs of dino's, wild dinos also seem to attack under its belly so you cant use the basic attacks to kill things without a cycle of using the knockback > repositioning > doing abit of damage it's really bad and I think WC should just redo the dino as currently its not worth the effect to tame, use and breed.

    • @freynlives
      @freynlives  3 месяца назад +2

      The durability was something I looked at during testing, as I noticed it had damage effects when it gets attacked, but it doesn't actually break at 0% (same with other saddles) so theres no danger there.
      The speed I can live with, but I certainly don't think it should be attacked by the amount that it is, Mosa/Tusos only really imo.

    I'll never understand making the most creative game out there the most unplayable mess out there. On console. You are forced to pay $50 a month for the buggy dumpster fire of a remake. The last game was near unplayable. This one is no different. Why not fix the f*cking game? Sure they have single player, and I do play solo. But single player ark is the WORST single player experience to date and I wish I was exaggerating. If you aren't paying attention least $30 a month for a server you are going to have a terrible experience. Single player is so unfunctional it's not even funny. Resources and creatures don't even respawn. There's no auto save. Yet. If you pay monthly. You have no such issues... sure the game is cheaper now. But I already f*cking payed $2000 for this absolute piece of f*cking dogsh*t of a game. So fun. Yet so unplayable... I could make a game that runs better. Why? Cause I'd actually f*cking try

      You're clearly doing something wrong. I've done 5 playthroughs on singleplayer in ASE and am currently doing one in ASA. Aside from waiting a couple minutes for artifacts to spawn and the occasional crash i haven't had these problems.
      Playing with a hibernation mod on ASA also helps with the creatures and resources.
      As a long time console player I've never had as much fun with the game as I've has recently with ASA.
      I really don't understand the "singleplayer so broken" argument.
      Maybe its a Playstation or PC issue. Im on xbox.
