Look at the slo-mo at 6:18. You can see something landing in the water just in front of you as you were backing off the throttle. You can hear a thump when you hit whatever it was (fish? wood debris?). That's when your rudder kicked back.

@@IRONCLADRC What I've been trying to figure out is what the heck the item that flew through the air and landed in front of your boat was. At 6:17 you can see the splash where it left the water and see it flying right in front of the 42. I'll bet it was a fish and the prop and rudder made instant sushi out of it.
There called mullet, juveniles swim in schools, once full grown they swim alone they get up to about 2 lbs.... The bigger ones jump out the water constantly

I use to use the dynimite passport GPS, but switched to the gnss GPS use a piece of hatch tape over the charger port for waterproofing

8mm xl cooling line, I use that same cooling line cut short, then stretched onto the main cooling line to make the retainers

bj 24 on 2s and the lucasoil power boat on 3s should have done opposite power but 24 didnt like the big 3 blade prop and my hands didnt like 40 degress.peace
It was 55 today that's cold in my neck of the woods.

Big B! I noticed you said your front ride pads have some angle to them, on your last blackjack you sanded them flat. Any idea how much angle is on them? Maybe that helps?
If I had to guess maybe 3 or 4 degrees 🤔 guessing here.. I think the flat front sponson on my old boat made it "drift" in a corner. Kinda like sliding around the corner. Pretty sure the front sponsons aren't touching the water in a high speed run and if they are barely 🤔
@@IRONCLADRC I figured you’d use that new fancy angle finder! Hmm, yeah I was mostly worried about the straight line difference , interesting to hear about the drifting though. The middle sponson is lower than the front so I believe front stays in the water even at high speeds
Big B, need your help brother. Your old blackjack hull, you flattened out front ride pads. This new hull you’ve said has a dihedral angle to front ride pads. Could you use that nice angle finder you have and find out how much angle is actually on those front sponsons? You’ve mentioned 1-2 degrees before but can you measure for me? Would be a huge help

Hey bud I am having a hell of a time with my boats leaking at the transon. When ever I ad something it always leaks, what do you do when going through the back.
Which boat? Blackjack 42? If so take your prop off, throw some batteries in and pull the trigger w/o the prop on watch for leaks.. mine leaked at the stuffing tube thru-hull the rubber grommet needed to be glued in

Seam you know a lot about boats. I have a question for you. I have a fiberglass V haul boat and it has an ops45 in it and I want to replace it and run an electric motor but having a hard time picking a motor and ESC. Have an advice?
Gonna need more information, hull length, what you want to achieve with the boat, ovals, speed? Weight may help too
@@IRONCLADRC The boat is 31.25” and 10.25” wide up to Vhual. It weight with out fuel and motor is 7.2 pounds.
Sorry for all the questions lol. I see your strut is all the way up and still has a negative prop angle. In addition to taking some off the stuffing tube, did u bend the tube as well (take some angle off it) to achieve the negative prop angle while having the strut so high?
My current strut is upgraded its a flat bottom speed master strut.
And yes you'll have to bend the stuffing tube to run some down angle
