    I just got mine yesterday!! I got mine in white and it is MASSIVE compared to my BJ24!!! I forgot to get EC5 connectors, or my boat would be wet already, but I ordered a few and they will be here today. I'll have a video up soon. Big B you are the best on RUclips and I like how you explain things for me. I have a TBI from the military (long story) and since watching your videos, you have given me an amazing hobby to jump into and it has brought back that spark into my life again, so I thank you for all you do!!

    Awesome boat and great advice. I'm not getting back into the hobby not thinking I don't have to do any tinkering. As a teenager in the early 80's running methanol boats that was all I was doing tinkering to get the best performance from what kit I had with some bashing around too 😂

    Great video. It's my favorite boat now. Last was the mg 36. Now this is a different animal. People definitely need to prep the boat before running or they will have problems.

    Coming back to RC since the mid 1980's I must say you are spot-on. This BJ42 is an amazing product, and yeslike all racing when you push to the limits you find the weak link(s) and make improvements. Like you've said, "What fun is just running a stock setup?" Push it to the max! You Rock Big B!

  • @norcalrc

    Very true bro. All high performance RC’s need to be dialed in for long term durability and performance. Boats are great after you get them dialed in with a baseline setup that you can then tweak to conditions. Getting a boat dialed in isn’t always super easy, they catch on fire , they sink, they shader when you hit stuff. But at the end of the day once dialed in the boats generally come back in on piece. I can’t say that about my bashers! Routine maintenance is key with all RC’s and especially with boats . Run it , pull the shaft and clean it lube it up and you ready to go

    Great video and talking torque is a must on boats and you explained great👍RC boats shaft take all the torque that would normally be on all 4 wheels in a all wheel drive monster truck💪Another point is Servos take that force and has to keep it straight,needs to be strong👍

    right on the money !
    this is a great boat, no one has made a electric cat with this power untill now.
    I dont see any problems in the design exept the batery position, they should of made the trays further forward so it wont fly
    so much. the other thing they could of done is put the second water pick up in the rudder to work with another hose , why leave it with just one working ?
    and the third issue is the small sonicwake prop . maybe a 47 mm would of been better .
    without tunning our rc cars and boats there is no hobby ..you are 100% right.
    the 4-5 mm drive dog distace is a must with this power, thank god you are showing us now before we all start snaping our flex shafts.
    got mine today , its amazing !
    running 2x 4S 7500 mah 100 c
    batts and i am changing the firma esc for a ztw 300 amp beast i have stored , its a heavy esc , so that will help also.

    Agreed with it being tough. I lost sight of a nice chunk of drift wood and hit it about about 45-50. The boat jumped 3 feet out of the water but didn't hurt a thing. I've flipped it multiple times at high speed and the only thing it did was split the foam inside the bow which is cosmetic only. I've also landed this boat 10 feet on the shore end over end with only a minor scuff on the very bottom that doesn't touch the water at cruising speeds. I was coming in hot on my last 8s speed run and was going to cut it hard to the right and let off the throttle to spin it around and stop quick, close to the shore. Instead of it doing a 180 and burring the stern and stopping fast like I had done many times before this time the bow went down and the stern came up prop and everything. At that point I lost my drag and it skipped twice on the water and landed on the bank end over end. Lucked out and learned a lesson.

      Check the motor/stuffing tube alignment, shimm the stuffing tube as needed. Don't spool up the motor and flexcable out of water, if you do the stuffing tube will get hot out of water.

    • @AnthonyM1
      @AnthonyM1 3 месяца назад

      @@IRONCLADRC I am going to try the double bearing idea I have. Remove the stuffing tube and install two sealed bearings with rubber outer seal. Ran it on the bench last night and no heat at all. Next will be the end of an RC shock for rod seal.

    I don’t like Proboat cats because their sponsons have zero deadrise. I have no idea what they were thinking with that. This means that they have to have perfectly flat water to perform - like a hydroplane.

    With power comes problems. But also don’t forget that you get problems with lots of power. On the other hand you can get problems with power, but there’s no denying the fact that with power comes problems.

    I am bug in tinkering amd all that myself I started in the truck l8ne of rcs, arrmas, my granite don't look like a granite no more lol my senton will soon follow suit, my first boat entry is a recoil 2, got the heatwave, don't know what to mess with yet but I'm already thinking about it, I want better turns, hell my first issue and I didn't even get to gun my boat out the box, whiling adjusting my steering, the pushrod connector broke haha its that bolt that holds the steering for the rudder, speaking of which, they sell those in bulk online, but I don't do diameters so I have no clue what to buy for it lol but I want better turning, any links for these would be amazing or a video on the recoil 2 26" boat things I could hop up, tune mess with im new to boats so I'm a freshie lol thanks man enjoy the videos as always!!!

    • @IRONCLADRC

      Parallel 2x3s battery's gives you same 12.6v more compactly........ series 2x3s battery's gives you double 25.2v more voltage. Always make sure battery's are same c rating, mah, and (age) better for battery life

    So we gunna skip the fact that he said he hit a boat at 50mph

    • @Kyletube78
      @Kyletube78 3 года назад +1

      Hit a boat? He said (4:30) "I hit a duck going about 50 miles per hour". I saw the run and it was actually a goose and it killed it. The lane was clear, he looked left then right and during that time a lady walked by with her dog which caused the geese to get in the water. Here he comes at 50 mph and hit one. It was an accident and he didn't have to post the video but did to remind people how dangerous these boats can be.

  • @martybass9727

    I got a question buddy I'm new to this rc boat deal which I only deal with the boats no cars no cracker jack airplanes just boats only lol but i got a 40 amp esc and i like combining batterys to just get the most damn power I can get but I combined 2 2200 11.1v /50c which that's gonna give me 6s and this little peice of shit boat I got I'm not worried if it blows or sinks but I'm hoping I can run it for 1 minute and I hope it shits and gets lol!I know it's not good for it but u think I'll be ok if I run it for say 30 seconds or a minute

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  3 года назад +1

      If the max power for your esc is 6s then yes. But if the esc is not rated at 6s you will for sure blow it up. If esc is 3s max only put 3s to it. 4s max. Max of 4s. And so on.

    • @martybass9727
      @martybass9727 3 года назад

      @@IRONCLADRC appreciate the info bud actually the esc is rated for 4s max so I get what ur saying lol but really in all honesty this is not a pro boat this is one of them knock offs volantex brand and I tell ya I'm not a big fan at all of them boats the parts are cheap and just shitty I'm the type you get what u pay for so all that being said we gonna make it a demolition boat cause you cant build a grand piano with toothpicks but I'll let yall know how it goes!Take it easy
