- The UX gets some big changes from Lexus for 2025. On the outside you will notive a new front fascia, black painted roof, 18in wheels and painted fender flares. On the inside you will be greeted by an update interior, 12.3in infotainment system screen and digital gauge cluster. Under the hood is a 2.0L inline-4 hybrid setup. Is the 2025 Lexus UX 300 F Sport a BETTER car to BUY than a Toyota Prius?

Bought the UX 300h F Sport HANDLING two months ago in Ultra White. Love it. Styling, handling, size, interior, displays, exterior and Lexus quality in full display. I've bought 24 vehicles in the past 6 years. This is my favorite. I'll not buy an EV only plug in, or plug-in hybrid. This is perfect.
comparing to the 2012 CT200h that I drive, things like rear passenger AC vents, touch screen infotainment and digital cluster, electronic tilt and telescopping steering wheel, more HP and AWD are absolute luxuries. Thanks for the review, Joe!
Thanks for that ownership input
Sounds like sarcasm. I hope it is, for it is. 😂
My 2012 CT just died on me, so I'm thinking about buying one of these. It was definitely elevated compared to the CT in terms of features.
Your videos are always fun to watch
Thank you for taking the tone to say that
The Red knocked my glasses off after it popped.
You can say that again!
I drive the 2022 Lexus UX250h and love it! I think the UX300h has some nice changes! Great Review…
I got this car today from my dealership as a courtesy car( love Putnam Lexus, CA!). I loved this car right from my first trip from the dealership to home.
Mine car , which was left for diagnostics , is the Lexus ES350 2007, which was announced the best car of 2007 year. No complains about mine, for 15 years now, and I still love it ( white pearl color exterior, and beige interior) ❤❤❤. I did speed up hard lately to get out to the freeway, and my car got “check VSC” warning in the dash monitor.😢
Bought one of these in premium trim in March. Phenomeal car and experience. I came from a CX-30 turbo and I don't miss it. The electric motor give it just enough scoot to feel punchy. Highway passing is a treat as the electric motors give you instant torque. This wont blow your doors off but it is plenty for those worried. Great video as always, I was waiting for yours! Iridium color with Palimino interior on mine looks great!
Purchased in the Ultra Mica blue for my wife. Her smile when she gets in this car is worth every cent.
Im jealous to your wife…🤭
I had a red UX250h AWD for about 4 years. I didn't get the F Sport because the seat bolster were too narrow for my bulky body. I enjoyed the car and drove it everywhere. I replaced it with an NX450h+ which I love. I had a chance to drive the UX300h I could not believe the improvement in performance. It's a worthy daily driver...
Luxury Lexus with mark Livingston sound system, at 40mpg such a perfect deal
I upgraded from the 2022 Mazda CX-30 to the 2024 UX 250h last year. It was paid off so it took about $24k off the price of the Lexus. Lexus financing is 8% APR so I would recommend getting a 0% credit card and doing a balance transfer.
I was looking for a hybrid made in Japan and it was the same price as a Toyota Crown I was considering, but I preferred the styling of the Lexus.
The gas mileage is great (43mpg) and it has been reliable so far.
The blind spot monitoring on Mazdas felt safer and more useful, but after getting a bad wheel bearing after only 15k miles, I lost faith in keeping the car long term.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
My next purchase will be a ‘24 Lexus ES 350 F Sport. (Wish I could pick this color though.)
Sounds like a plan Brandon!
Get the mark Levi u won’t regret it
Great spec! I like generally like Lexus and the UX well enough, but in this color and trim it's a truly cool, desirable ride. Wish the wheels were even one notch more aggressive - and I don't usually love super aggressive cars but this one works.
Love your videos man
Thanks Nick! You are the best man!
It's not exactly the smallest Lexus. They have one called LBX and lately they have a GR-Powered version just released. Unfortunately it's not available in the States.
would definitely take this over Mercedes entry SUV
I believe you can turn off the fake engine noise.
All we know is we love our 2020 UX. No issues in 50k+ miles.
That is so great to hear! Thanks for sharing that great ownership input.
Great job Stephen.
Appreciate your reviews over the years . Just a heads up i think if you check with the dealership the one drove was not a AWD. AWD would have had the badge on the rear and also the battery charger status on the screen did not show the rear engine . Also the ride is even faster and better i think it is about a $1875 upgrade but worth it . Things I would have mentioned : Pull up storage bins in the boot area there are three of them , the break hold button is fantastic at stops and lights you can take your foot off the break , it truly is one of the safest SUVs out there 9 your insurance cost is peanuts) , there is also a wave your foot to open the rear hatch door , the car in cruise steers and drives itself hands free even around bends , it uses regular fuel and a tank can take you about 440 miles on ten gallons , you can drive pure EV for about 16 miles and no need to plug it in to recharge . The Premium version UX300h AWD with a lighter interior is probably the way to go and get the larger touch screen and wireless charger . I have owned BMW , Mercedes ,Caddy , 2 Alfas , Saabs many other brands and of all the 25 + cars I have owned and driven this is my favorite for the smooth ride , quality and fit is just perfect but recommend trying the AWD Premium loaded up for a rest ride !
You should start your own channel up 😂🤡
Thanks for that great feedback.
I think that is a great idea Tony.
Well, Joe, I remember when the UX came out for the 2019 model year, it's was quite striking at the time. Through the years with Lexus having redesigns and refreshes in their lineup, this UX just kinda lost its appeal for me.
Yeah I know how you feel Chris!
Love this car. Wish I waited for the 2025. I just about paid 45k for a premium model.
Reminds me of my Toyota Matrix, which was a great car.
That is great to hear!
You can turn the fake sound off by pushing the button that’s just to the left of the left turn signal. Edit: it says ASC
Thanks for the heads up!
Good - hopefully they drop that sound in ‘26!
Love your car video
Thanks I can bringing it to you!
Love Your Channel Keep up the Good Work !!!!
That video game engine sound would be a deal breaker for me. Can it be turned off?
If this awd trim had closer to 300hp id be at the dealer right now. Its a beautiful car but underpowered for the price.
Id test drive it honestly. I came from a cx-30 turbo and I don't miss it, its is enough and I'm having fun trying to get great mgs. i drive mostly highway and I'm able to get 45mpg on my last tank with warm weather and summer gas
@@zepharus2 me too, coming from 2021 mazda 3 gt hatch with turbo....i like the sound, 250hp and torque of the mazda but the ux300h is sufficient and an overall upgrade in all areas..oh and seeing only using 6L/100km is amazing as opposed to 10L/100km in the mazda
Great review. Pumping engine sounds through the speakers is just silly, embarrassing really. It’s just not like Lexus. The backseats are cramped, and if you want to synch the inside temperature you have to go digging through the screen; it’s not a toggle switch, which it should be. The price is a little high. If you can get through all that it is a fun car to drive with a proven powertrain.
Great work Steven. Except for the red perforated seats thing. You dropped the ball there 😂
Thanks for giving Steven the feedback.
@RaitisRides Steven is great and I had to give him a hard time when you mentioned it. Love your channel and look forward to more "on throttle here we go"
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
Thank you my firiend!
Can there be at least one mainstream vehicle produced that doesn’t look like they have a super glued an iPad in the center of the dash? None of these screens look integrated anymore.
It doesn't seem that way anymore.
@@RaitisRides at least Jeep makes seem like it is integrated. Grand Cherokee is good but the Cherokee is Best!!!!! By the way, big fan! Subscribed to you for a while now! You’re the embodiment of the Motor Trend Auto Show! I’ve gone almost every year here in Las Vegas but it’s hard since most vehicles look like ctrl+c/ctrl+v
Test drove this car about 6 months ago. I found it underpowered ,cramped and overpriced for what was being offered. It actually felt a bit cheap inside as well. The CVT was absolutely sub par in my opinion ,especially for the price that wanted..
Awesome mate thank you so much for such a detailed review 👍 And what a gorgeous Lexus love the red with the black roof. Can’t wait for them to arrive in Aussieland 🇦🇺 Keep up the awesome work champion 👏
You are so very welcome! Thanks for watching from down under.
@@RaitisRides pleasure buddy and just subscribed. Love ya work 👍
do you have a review on the Lexus hybrid plug in?
It’s unbelievable that a luxury SUV still doesn’t have a 360-degree camera after six years. Parking is going to be a nightmare. It seems like all the focus has been on aesthetics rather than functionality.
Joe is simply the best in his field....
That means the world Steven!
That color is 🥵 😮💨 🙌
It really pops well!
It's nice. It's Lexus with a very low total cost of ownership.
I think you are right!
Sod it. I bought a UX250h in April. Wish I had known they were bringing out the UX300h the next month.
Lexus should redesign this ASAP. Or make it loaded under 35k.
Lexus needs to add this tech and stuff to the IS 300 and 350
That red color looks faaaaaast! 🤣
Hey Joe, for me this car/crossover reminds me too much of the Mercedes Benz GLA 250 from the driver, passenger doors back. If it wasn’t for the front end and the interior I would’ve still guessed it.
That is a very good point!
Yes of course Joe & I will buy this as my daily.
I knew you would like this one.
I like it but I wouldn't pay that much money for a vehicle this size, especially if you only need it for going to work or school.
How much would you pay?
Hope you get your hands on a 2024 Lincoln Nautilus® SUV soon.
Just saw an add, and the interior looked really unique. The way the info screen stretches around like a space ship. Very cool.
i assume this is F Sport Handling?
I Think This Is A Much Nicer Than The Prius🤔💭👍👌🚗!!!
I am glad that you like this one.
I chose this over the Prius. I love my UX.
Is Lexus just done with sedans or what ?
$45k for....that ... yikes.
The base FWD non F version starts at 38K.
@@mlim82480 even worse!
Yeah too expensive
What do you think the price should be?
Good point!
I think this would be a better comparison for this and a Toyota RAV4, but let’s see how this goes!
This is smaller than a RAV4
45k is a weird price point...so many overlaps between the NX, RX very close in range
On 22" wheels that thing would look killer.
That would be interesting
45/40 mpg is terrible for a small hybrid. The prius gets 57/56, Insight gets 55/49, Civic Hybrid gets 50/47. 40 mpg on the highway is almost the same as a non-hybrid Corolla or Civic
Thanks for sharing those numbers.
But you are not as comfortable in those other brands plus the 2024 Toyota warranty is only 36 months or 36,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage and 60 months or 60,000 miles of powertrain coverage. .
Lexus
The 2024 Lexus warranty includes 4 years or 50,000 miles of basic coverage, 6 years or 70,000 miles of powertrain coverage, and 8 years or 100,000 miles of coverage for hybrid components
@@scottmccullo all true but all that equipment doesn't add much weight, that thing only weighs a bit more than a Prius and has the same amount of power
Why don't they put ambient lighting in this vehicle
Looks like they couldn't take any more zonks for the gloss black finally
You are so very right about that!
Gone are the days you could get a bulletproof reliable 3 liter v6 for almost half the price producing more power.
No spare tire?
45k thats toyota grand highlander hybrid price
I see what you did there!
Now thats a Cute Ute
I think so too.
Really need your advice Joe…compare to crown signia what do you think
Crown Signia all day long!
I had one of these for the day literally a few days ago as a courtesy car. It's a nice little car with a very nice ride, all the new tech was mostly a very nice upgrade, but I found the digital tachometer very laggy. Also, I didn't really notice the small bump in torque/horsepower over the the 250h, but I'd say it has adequate power now. They need to remove the dreadful fake engine noise, and the paddle shifters are very ineffective. Good handling yes I have to agree with that. Last zonk was the Mark Levinson sound system, very disappointing, really lacking bass, the 10 speaker system in my IS300h is so much better.
Did have ux250h, same exactly dimensions. It is not very spacious hatchback not crossover.
So would you rather go with the Prius?
Is it made in Japan 🇯🇵!!!!!!
Yes it is!
Not me.. I DO CARE about 0-60 which is the big problem with most of these (non Plug in type) hybrids.. although the new Civic Hybrid may be something.
Looks like a nice car, but I can't understand why Lexus would put an F Sport tuned suspension on a modified Prius.
Literally same. I have the F Sport CT200h, and it literally does nothing. When you still get smoked by Civics and Kia’s 💀
@@MiahV007 Thanks for your post
I know where you are coming from with that!
Just get a UX300h Premium AWD the seats are really perfect
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm choosing the Prius.
I know how you feel!
Aren't these Lexus bit over priced for what they offer ?
Yes
What do you think the price should be?
You need to review new model 3 performance
I would say that a better comparison is the Corolla cross instead of the Prius
Exactly. A different category , but maybe some of the same potential buyers … I’m more impressed with the 2025 Civic hybrid hatchback . IMHO It’s a better vehicle in every way. More power , better mpg , nicer interior and handling … less 💰 💵 💰💵💰 . Even in Canada I don’t need AWD in this size . Snow tires do it for me . Also … a CRV Sport Touring (hybrid) is much better value .
Well corolla cross looks like a proper crossover. This ux looks small and more like a raised hatchback just similar to the hatchback prius
@@bunmeng007 lol @ proper crossover
@@bunmeng007 but I do see how the Prius hatchback can be a good comparison
You are not the first to say that.
Wouldn't this be more comparable to the corolla cross hybrid?
Yes & NO
Yo Raiti, how you gonna make excuses for the giant hood of the QX80 saying I need to see it in person when you literally tower over this toy car lol.
It isn't a problem when you are behind the wheel.
50k lexury car with no hood struts kinda sad
That door panel is about as interesting as a prison cell wall. Not that I would know how those look 👀
I know how you feel! Great analogy!
I can definitely say yes.
That is wonderful to hear!
I like it
Edit: not at 45k … interior is a let down imo
That do you think the price should be?
@@RaitisRidesmax 40k and even that is too much in my opinion
@@keeprisingmb yea 40k for this “ Top trim “ sounds right
What other vehicles are you comparing this to?
@@ViciousFirearms base Mazda cx30 msrp is around 25k- 29k top trim carbon edition … Audi q3,BMW x1, Volvo xc40 and Mercedes GLA are around the same price… all of which I believe you just get more 🤷♂️…. I’m a Toyota fan have only owned Toyota ( and some Acura ) so trust me when I say I’m unbiased I love Lexus
I want to ask a question Which car is more better in terms of Luxury and Comfort The Range Rover Autobiography LWB or the Maybach ???
I just go for 2025 toyota camry XSE fully load
That sounds like a good plan!
Raiti’s garage update?
hmmmm… this is a great car not just up to par with it’s price tho
I just had a 24 RX350 F Sport as a loaner and man did that car suck. It did look nice on the outside and that was it.
What was suck about it?
Thanks for sharing that experience that you had.
Great question.
@@tony2tooth661 Interior quality, slow, weird ac positioning, very disappointing overall.
Raiti do you think its more value to buy the Crown Signia over a new UX?
Crown Signia all day long.
These cars that are 45k, and modest in performance and dimensions are starting to be picked off by the EV competitors. Toyota is on fire in 2024, but one issue i see happening is that too many of vehicles are bunched in the 40-50k segment, and although they are winning big because they have hybrids when the other mfrs foolishly tried to go EV and failed to deliver on time at the original target price, Toyota has raised their prices so high that the core middle class customer on which they built their fortune is being squeezed out of the new car market. Here in California have a 10% sales tax, and reg fees in the first year are considerable. So a 45k car is 50k out the door, with perhaps $1k reg fee, and then sky high insurance rates.
Insurance costs are so high in CA that it is hurting EV sales; the Avg Tesla insurance bill is over $2k/year. That's a lot of money.
Thanks for sharing your insight on this one.
Put the GR Corolla’s engine in this.
Comparing a Lexus to a Prius is wild. We live in an interesting time lol.
Have you seen the new prius?
it looks like my 2016 HRV
Nice, I just don’t like the cvt… or electric motors…
It does help get the better MPG.
Good review , not impressed at all. Better off getting a new civic hybrid hatchback in touring trim. Better handling, quicker , better gas miles and cheaper. It’s a no brainer.
Thanks for that great insight!
This car is HALFWAY to being good. Almost there, Joe!
No it’s not half way. It’s more like a quarter way there
@@naveenthemachine I can agree with that
Thats a hot shade of red. Probably get burnt if you touch that thing. Slap a Lexus badge on that baby and charge top dollar for it. Nice stradegy Toyota. I dont think this will be their top seller. Just sayin. 💙
It really pops for sure! Trust me I agree with you!
It should be compared to a Corolla Cross, not a Prius
That is another option.
This should be at least $38K
Thanks for your sharing that price point insight
The Toyota version of this is the Toyota Crown Sport.
Only if you want to pay more to insure it
Why would that be?
If it ain't Mazda...it ain't red
I see what you did there!
Mazda got their red from Lexus...matador red mica has been used long before Mazda started using the metallic red lol
@@lauraoglesby7950 ummmmm did you see matador red mica?? If you put that color on a Mazda it will turn it into a Subaru. If you put soul red crystal metallic on a Lexus, it instantly turns it into a Maybach.
Mazda red is the best...looks like im not the only one to notice
He enjoys his munchies🎉🎉
You know me well.
Not a fan of the UX styling, especially towards the rear, & in-general it looks more like a (over-styled, fugly) station wagon or hatch than a crossover. I would rather see the Lexus LBX available in the USA in terms of smaller crossover offerings.
I won't buy it if I can't get the 360-degree camera system in it. Simple as that.
Thanks for sharing your honesty on this one.
14:35 snatched right out of a kia 😂
I see what you did there!
While this is definitely a nice car, I can't understand what consumer base this fits. Take for example the now discontinued CT. That vehicle was a hot hatch with Prius power, something owners constantly complained about. This vehicle should be getting a better powertrain for the money, because the Prius gets close to the UX for far less. Lexus would fare better with a UX300 F-Sport Performance. Then perhaps they can justify that strange engine audio that's pumped in. Great review Raiti!
