Great video..Just changed the door mirror on my Audi..Watching this video made the job much easier.. When i put the regulator back in the door i removed the speaker to gain access..
Thanks man, great video. It is much more work that I expected though... My window makes cracking sound going up and down even after lubricating, I don't should I open the frame to check what's going on inside or not
Select Vehicle Spares this morning it just stuck in the door and doesn't want to come up anymore ☹️ it makes some noises and the motor stops, I'm going to take a new window regulator, hope I can change it thanks to your video
Today I finally changed the window regulator, taking out wasn't so bad but putting back was a hell. I think you need to remove just two out of the three screws on the right side though 🙄
Great video, thanks a lot for it! One question - at 2:45 there is a "hidden" bolt inside the door pannel... is it hard to reach it if it happens to drop into that space between door metal sheets? Another question if anyone knows - I googled this video as my plastic surrounding is loose on drivers side but holds ok on the other... I guess some screw needs to be tightened or some plastic part is broken because of some impact or whatever. What is actually holding that plastic side mirror cover in the right position? I am waiting for the better/warmer weather to try all this by myself.
No, it just drops in to the door panel, so it's easy enough to get if it drops. An extendable magnet helps, just in case. The plastic cover on the rear of the door mirror is just pushed in on small clips.
Good, clear video, thanks. Would I need to remove the door card to adjust window height stop? I have audi a3 8p cabriolet and passenger side looks to be 5 mm too low . Thank you.
So much easier than the A3 8L. The stiff electrical connectors are on the door card. Just removed the drivers door card on mine and their are 6 plugs to disconnect
Great video. How does the triangular plastic toothed drive piece re-locate when refitting? It's got those 3 pins to locate in the holes. Can you get your arm in to align it from inside? Also does that big black plastic panel on the left come out? I only want to lubricate mine. Thanks mate.
Hi Jason. Yes the black plastic access panel can be removed easily, this then lets you get your hand inside the door panel, so you can relocate the window motor drive piece when re-fitting. Thanks.
@@SelectVehicleSpares I concur, it’s quite stubborn and the wiring is fragile on pull. Appreciate the video, wouldn’t have noticed the wiring clip holding it in place, cheers.
Not that we have found, it is difficult due to the location of the electrical connector. You may be able to fish it through, but we have not been able to do this.
Gonna try this tomorrow, When i press the open/close i can hear a clicking sound but as you can guess my window doesnt open. Neither with holding the key on unlock car. As i said im gonna check tomorrow any suggestions? Can you knock on the motor with a hamer or should you spray some spray?
The wing mirror electrics plug was already unplugged when you pulled out the door frame mate you didn't show how you unplugged it before you took the frame out (unless I'm missing something) can you shine some light on that mate thanks
+Brent Lee When you get to the 3:40 mark in the video, you need to undo the 2 fittings at the bottom of the glass, where it locates in to the orange plastic holders, this will release the glass.

Great video..Just changed the door mirror on my Audi..Watching this video made the job much easier..
When i put the regulator back in the door i removed the speaker to gain access..
Thank you. Today I changed my friends mirror after watched this video.
thanks for that, mate. I actually searched for an 8P door panel remove FAQ to change the comfort control as my passenger door is not opening any more.
Thanks man, great video. It is much more work that I expected though...
My window makes cracking sound going up and down even after lubricating, I don't should I open the frame to check what's going on inside or not
Hi, it sounds like it could be the window regulator on its way out.

Can you do a video guide on how to replace the window rubber trim
Thank you, that was perfect
I used this to repair my door for free thereby saving on the extortionate dealer charges.
I'm still shocked that people give you the thumb's down.
Good, clear video, thanks.

@@SelectVehicleSpares Thanks, I tried pulling the access panel but it wouldn't budge, need more force I guess. I was worried I'd break it. Cheers 👍🏼
Thanks for this, great tutorial
Thanks a lot! You're a lifesaver :)
Hi, great tutorial. I'm just wondering can you not remove the mirror after releasing the door card or do you have to remove the frame aswel?
Yes you can remove the mirror bolt itself, but it's very hard to get the wiring for the mirror out without removing the frame.
@@SelectVehicleSpares I concur, it’s quite stubborn and the wiring is fragile on pull.

Thanks so much for this video!
very good tutorial ! thanks a lot
The bolt at 2:34 near top right. Is the bolt important? Mines vanished.
You save my life bro!!
Is there a way to unclip the mirror clips without taking everything out? I’m just trying to take out the mirror and it’s wire and put a new one in.

may all those who gave the thumbs down burn in hell.

It plugs in to the module on the window motor, at around 1:58 in the video.
Can this be done with the glass completely closed?
you are heaven sent
Is this the same process for the drivers door as my driver's window struggles to close
Yes the process is the same for both sides.
Does the window glass need to be all the way up to remove it? Or can it be rolled down?
If you are removing the complete frame as shown in the video then the glass can be in any position.
Good tuto, mate... thanks
Swapped my door panel ls from my other a3 and now bother electric windows do not work any ideas?
How does the glass come out? I need to replace mine. Thanks.
+Brent Lee When you get to the 3:40 mark in the video, you need to undo the 2 fittings at the bottom of the glass, where it locates in to the orange plastic holders, this will release the glass.
+Tom Strange thanks tom!! Do you think it would be the same steps to a Audi A3 2015 model. My passenger glass got vandalized last night.
Does the window regulator need to be removed to Change the mirror bud?
Yes, you would need to remove the frame with the glass and regulator attached to replace the mirror.
how to remove the door handles of 2012 audi a3?
Nice, but you forgot to mention pushing the cable wrap into the door. Left me in a very awkward spot.
Does the top frame have to be remove to remove the mirror!! ??
Yes
