Yeah, the main reason Dana white threw Silva into this fight was because he believed Silva was slipping, and he believed Griffin was THE guy to wake him back up, because of his amazing track record. I mean, he wasn't wrong, but boy oh boy.
jesus christ. this fight is the greatest performance from a fighter in ufc history. when people have the “goat” conversation, if we’re talking about PRIME, no one comes close to this. his movement was simply other worldly.
Thank you. I swear people act like because Anderson lost a few times way past his prime that he isn't somehow in the goat conversation. I think it matters what you did, when you did it and how you did it. And taking all that into account imo Anderson is hands down the GOAT
although griffin got knocked out and silva said "lets go" they both still showed so much respect in the fight. He was already done the first time he dropped, I dont think it was embarassing at all. He looked really hard like he couldnt properly control himself anymore, thats also why the relative light slap brought him down.
This is the highest quality of MMA. Nobody has ever bossed an MMA octagon like Silva did that night. He made Silva look like a kid in his first sparring session...🙇🙇🙇
Silva was my favorite fighter but rewatching his fights i appreciate the composure. This dude stands right in front of these guys. Slides just out of range, uses his shoulders and forearms to block, grabs the lead hand, slips and pulls back. No unnecessary movements. Then when he does throw its the same principle. He's so measured in the shots he does throw. Extremely patient and technical fighter. Anderson was a gift man. Excellent fighter and its the small things that made him so great. Spider was good but he reminds me of a cobra or sniper. Wait, wait, wait....killshot
After what happened during his fight... a total humiliation, we have to understand him... That was so embarrassing... Not a good move but as a human-being... Rather get out ASAP!

@@willyoueatmypussyplease3549so real talk, when you get more skilled at striking, the placement and timing is litterally 90% of striking effectiveness, big wild strikes are not needed for knockouts, he had a small wind up and threw at the perfect time, the force of him moving into his moving fist was probably similar to a full power hook, if you don't know it seems really strange but the difference between hitting something moving away and something moving towards your strike is huge.

It's the momentum principle. Forrest was in the process of lurching forward with a punch , and Anderson connected as he was coming forward. Perfect timing.
Although Jon Jones is probably the GOAT, there was just something special about Silva that no one has ever replicated. Closest to him is Demetrius Johnson. Prime Silva had an air of invincibility about him.
