    Great film. Well acted and beautifully shot. Most importantly they had the guts to stay true and faithful to the source material. Danny Lyon's "The Bikeriders".

      @@Boblovesmovies watched twice. I liked the atmosphere of the film. The roar of engines, driving through the city at night, interaction between characters. Then I watched a frame-by-frame analysis of the film by Jeff and Tom at Esquire Studios. I wanted to watch it again. It was great.👍👍👍

      @@CriticlessCast that seems to be pretty unanimous with what everybody has said. I really thought this was going to be a movie full of biker brawls with rival gangs, and it was nothing like that. Which probably made it better.

    I have to agree with a few of the points you made in regards to this movie.
    The filming and making it feel relative to the time period was pretty spot on.. They really depicted what you would have thought the working class living conditions were at the time.
    The acting was top notch.. The main characters all really killed said roles..
    However.. The movie felt disjointed and the screenplay i felt was supbar.. Overall, i think the flow and sequencing in this flim were really lacking..
    I would give this flick a 6.3/10
    Your review was pretty spot on though

    This is actually based on real people and real events. That foundation makes it a slow burn. This is a lot less about a motorcycle club, and more about people’s hearts. It’s about walking your own path and the consequences that come with that. The movie also spans a little over a decade in time, so there are some jumps you need to pay attention to. I was a kid during this time frame, but I grew up in the Chicagoland area. I was familiar with a lot of the “real” stories that make this up. It was very well done. Anyone that is a true rider knows that look in Benny’s eye at the end.

    • @Boblovesmovies
      @Boblovesmovies  Месяц назад

      Yeah, I’m interested to read the book and find out the real life stories that the movie was based on. I enjoyed the slow burn, even though it did drag in a couple of spots, but this is a very character driven movie and I think the acting performances were very good.

      @@RavensOsFan89 I think it’s well worth a trip to the theater if only to help make sure we get more movies like this. I’m so tired of big loud fake characters that these real people being real and authentic was a joy. I hope we never lose the small budget well told stories.

    I’m loved this film, saw it three times already and will see it more. I do agree the new studio marketed it differently than it is. They never told the story about Benny even in Danny Lyons book. I think Benny’s character acted as a bridge between 50’s style Johnny who thought he was Marlon Brando (hence why Tom did that voice) and 70’s style The Kid who had the punk rocker vibe. The film is really a tale about the loss of innocence in reality and with Hollywood beginning its bastardization of the culture. I really liked how authentic this portrayal was, I felt like I knew these people having grown up in the Midwest near Chicago. But the event you alluded to was designed that way as it is also a cautionary tale about pretending ti be something you’re not. I can’t wait to see it again!
