Holden, you have become an inspiration to me. This channel and all the content like this that you have made on your main one continues to affirm to me that I can still enjoy pop culture and still find the God I serve in it, even if it wasn’t made expressively through the lens of Christianity. I love that you actually base your knowledge and points from the Bible’s words and through what is shown and told us in these things. I hope to continue to see this channel grow so that more and more people who love these movies and TV shows can be shown the true nature of Christ. May God bless you and your family and use you for His glory.

This scene right here has always stuck with me. I know I’m in the Minority when I say this, but I enjoyed Jesse Eisenberg’s portrayal of Lex Luther Jr. and this scene solidified that performance. There is conviction to what Lex is saying to Clark here. It felt like he truly believed Superman is a fraud and, while irrational and insane, Lex projects his anger of God not being there to protect him from his Father’s “Fists and Abominations” on to Superman. Now when he says:
“I figured out way back, if God is all Powerful! He can Not be all Good and if he is all Good than he can Not be all Powerful! And neither can You be?”
This was his plan to prove to himself and the whole world that Superman or “God” was not all powerful or all good.

I love these sorts of discussions, and the way you approach them is awesome. Instead of speaking the "Christian language", as it were, to people who are watching these videos, you deal with all of this very practically and with a very "here are the facts" sort of attitude. Truly something that has been needed in this area of RUclips.
Also a little sidenote, and it's mostly just a guess but based on the way you're talking about all of this I'm assuming you're nondenominational, just taking God at His Word and removing all of the human tradition that many denominations like to make up.
You have earned a subscription and I'll stick around to listen to more of these 😄

I am a believer and deep Christian, so this question does not come from a place of gotcha or Belile. Let's take Luther's father as an example, he chose to beat and abuse him yes, he should and will be punished yes, like you stated he will be. Now what happens if Luthor's father, apart from Lex's knowledge repents, and turns and walks with God, he turns his life around in his dying days and Lex never knows. Lex is still justified to want justice no? My Christian brain likes to think that if he is truly repented he deserves to go to heaven, however, the argument presented says he will be punished because God is a just father. Does his father still get punished? or what happens then? Is it justice if the murderer truly repents and gives his life to god, becomes a doctor, etc etc, and because of this the judge doesn't send him to jail? This video brought that question to my mind and I would like to hear anyone's thoughts on this. God Bless!

Sin isn’t just an action, it is something in the heart. Here’s an example, let’s say there is a guy who punches another guy, and the guy who did the punch, tries to justify himself, and say that it was the right thing for him to do. Well, in that case, the real problem is his heart, his heart might be tainted with the sin of violence. Sinful actions are just a product of a sinful heart. In order to fix the sin in your heart, you must realize what you did was wrong, and turn from that way, and accept forgiveness.

@@bendu8282 I never said we don’t belong to God? I said God isn’t everything. Also, modern Judaism isn’t really what they used to believe. The Old Testament condoned things like the trinity , saying “The Lord will send the Angel of the Lord, who also is the Lord” while after second temple fell(just as Jesus predicted) the Pharisees took over the religion, and they really wanted to separate themselves from Christianity, so they took away beliefs like that. Now, you can be born into a Jewish family, and you can worship some pagan gods, and they will still call you Jewish. But, if you worship Jesus, your suddenly shunned, and called “not a real Jew”. Hebrew philosophy also has some pretty bad ideas, like the idea that everyone’s minds are born as blank slates(which is not true). I also find it funny that you can pull verses that say “God created the world”(specifically; The Father created the world, through Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit) and then say “that means God is the world”. Never have I seen the argument that God is absolutely real told in such an objective way before. Love it.
Of course, I don’t really believe in free will. Though if God and the Bible express that it is real, then it just means that I have to live with the notion that it does exist. In my opinion an evil act is an evil act someone chose but what causes someone to choose evil? If free will exists and we are naturally born good where does evil come from? Ourselves? The temptation of the enemy? If so then that’s not free will. If the enemy didn’t exist then we would be forever good. Adam and Eve would have never broken their promise to God and would remain in the Garden of Eden.

But in your example of pedophillia why did the pedophile choose to start molesting children? The only options are that the pedophile himself was molested at a very early age and chose to start molesting children because of the experience in which case we're left with an infinite regress or because they were born without the ability not to molest children in which case labeling them evil is like labeling a natural disaster as evil. Now we can say that the pedophile had a responsibility to not molest children regardless of trauma but then if trauma can never excuse an action then the entire field of psychiatry serves no purpose.

Trauma is never an excuse for actions, it can help you understand why people made an indefensible act. But let's say you were born on the extreme end when it comes to antisocial personality disorder where you don't just show signs. You act like what psychologist used to refer to as psychopathy and sociopathy in regards to DSM-5. If you end up killing people, maybe you might avoid the death sentence, or maybe you end up in a very strict secure mental hospital for the rest of your life. You still are ultimately responsible for those actions. Even the most extreme believers of there being no such thing as freewill, not in a predetermined universe by a cosmic being sort of way. But because your brain is biologically wired to do whatever it is that you do. They will still make moral judgements as in regards to even less extreme bad behavior.
I might not be a believer, but I've never been able to take that leap in regards to free will. And I always find it silly that according to religious people I can't believe that there is anything such as good and evil. I might not think that the good and evil is the cause of invisible entities that want to help or cause harm depending on as a believer in God where you stand in regards to angels and demons.
Just because the universe is random doesn't mean that there are things that are not just subjectively but objectively worse actions for me to take. I can't stop a hurricane from destroying countless homes, if I started harming the people who was taking shelter from it I would objectively making a bad situation worse. I have more reasons not to do it but just from a selfish position I wouldn't do it because I wouldn't want a person to do that to me.

“Objective morality” is a nonsense term. Even if there were a god, and he could burn you forever for doing such-and-such actions, that wouldn’t make said actions “objectively wrong,” that would just mean a supremely powerful force has its own subjective morality that it can back up with threats.

I hear this one a lot from Atheists. 3 things: From an Atheistic relative moral worldview, slavery isn't even evil. It's only subjectively evil. Whereas from the Christian worldview, it is and has always been objectively evil. To be a consistent Atheist, surely you wouldn't claim slavery is absolutely evil outside of your personal preference.
2nd thing: this is widely misunderstood segment of God's tightening down on immorality and was never intended to be the final say on slavery. It would be like reading the terms of the 3/5th Compromise in the United States and concluding THAT was the end goal of the Abolitionists. (Christian Abolitionists I might add. It wasn't the Atheists leading that charge).
3rd thing: have you ever talked to any black Christians about this issue? I hear some Atheists argue that their culture was taken from them and replaced with Christianity. It's wild to think so little of a black person that they couldn't think these things through themselves. Plus, Christianity was in predominantly black nations before coming to Europe.
There's a wonderful book by Booker T Washington called "Up From Slavery" about his life growing up in slavery and becoming one of the most influential black authors in American History. Also, devoutly Christian and speaks on the issue of slavery. His words might be worth more to you because he experienced the horrors of slavery and found freedom in Christ.
