No Man's Sky Expedition 4: Emergence

- Across the universe, planets have been blighted by the activity of Titan Worms. These colossal sandworms plough through the desert sands, blacking out the sun as they arc overhead, and defiling the very terrain with their cursed dust.
Travellers on this Expedition will find themselves stranded on planet Wasan, a barren world ravaged by dust storms and infested with Titan Worms. It is up to you to locate the Titan Worm impact sites, destroy the wretched Hungering Tendrils, and collect the Vile Spawn that lingers behind. The vessels of the many mouths must be purged!
As travellers cleanse planets of cursed dust and hunt the titanic sandworms, they will unravel the threads of a dark narrative. Complete the expedition route to reveal the history of a dark cult, and ultimately confront the Atlas with evidence of this indelible stain upon the universe.

I loved how we come from "WHERE THE WORM! IT'S NOT IN THE GAME" to "RIDEABLE SPACE DUNE WORM LET'S GOOOOOOOO"

Worm redemption arc
I feel a Dune collaboration as a reward for this expedition :eyes:
This is certenly Dune
2016: where tf are the ripoff dune worms
2021: licensed dune worms

@@AustinAKR people who type their emoji's: :clown:
@@GlitchyTypo Well, licensed is a big word, I would say this is more of a coincidence ;) After all it isn't like Dune owns the concept of Sandworms.
Never have regretted buying this game even in the early years. No Man's Sky has the most continuing value of any game I have ever owned
Same! I enjoyed the game from launch date but I understood the critics. It's AMAZING what they've done and keep on doing with the game!
I'm loving these seasons or "expeditions" too! They're so great!
@@zZAD I feel exactly the same! Had since launch too. One thing I'd say tho about expeditions, I understand the trend about seasons in gaming, FOMO and all, but I wish there was a way to replay the expeditions. Maybe if you do it in the "expedition time" you get extras like quicksilver but you can still replay them and maybe even still get the rewards. I just don't always have the time whenever there's an expedition. :-(
Same here bro! I waited for this game for years to release since the first time it was announced. Then, I played since the moment it released on steam for 2 days straight and racked up like 30-40h and pretty much done everything in the game at the time and stopped playing. Now, years later, I keep coming back and enjoying every single update because this game is just so damn amazing!
I don't know if the most, don't get me wrong the game is fantastic and has grown a lot, but putting it against Warframe I believe they still have a ways to go.
Definitely on the correct path tho.
Pre-ordered this bad boy and never looked back.
Holy crap this looks nuts. They just keep bringing the updates!
You wanted giant sandworms. You're getting giant sandworms.

VFX guy: How many glitch effects should we put in this trailer?
Hello Games: Yes
However, looks rad as always;
Yah those glitch effects are not annoying at all. Really make the new gameplay shine. "off to buy new eyes"
@@bra5081 maybe these effects are part of that dlc's gameplay if you put the difficulty-slider up to "painfully annoying"

Because sound cant travel in space.
Love how Sean always takes us off guard with the updates
I know right I was expecting a tiny update and they are like: New expedition and rideable sandworms!!!
That because they aren’t wasting half their team on pr and media progress and updates. It also helps that they don’t say. Much about the updates until they are mostly ready or ready same or next day
This is because they aren’t trying to sell anyone anything they are just going back and making the game they wanted to make instead of what all of their giant funders pushed them to rush out
Hello Games could have turn this into a paid DLC and I would still buy it.
But instead of following the footsteps of the likes of EA, they made this content as a free update.
Huge respect to Hello Games!
The way I see it, it was an Early Access on launch, and now receiving updates to be a full game.
@@CookieeMonstarr666 There will always be cry babies who'll never be happy, regardless of the endless free content you're not obligated of having. Have another tissue.
@@pieshot you probably need to stop making assumptions on every single person you met. I'm happy with the updates but this is just the way I see it. The updates were necessary and needed rather than new contents added assuming the base was ready, it wasn't.
It was a horrible update meant for 5 year olds, I'm doing a full honest review on it today.
@@CookieeMonstarr666 While no-one can deny the sorry state the game was in at launch. If you think the game is still needing updates to match what was promised at launch, then I think it's more an issue of your expectations. They redeemed themselves ages ago now, unless there are significant promised features still not in?
Bless the Maker and all His Water. Bless the coming and going of Him. May His passing cleanse the world. May He keep the world for his people.
No Man's Sky never die.
More encounters with creatures like this would be great, imagine a cave update where you could hunt and find terrifying creatures in big caves that go super deep into the planet.
About to scale a mountain when it stands up and walks away
Or swimming towards an island that starts moving
Space whales, Krakens, maybe even some sarlac pits

"Here's native 4k 60 fps + Full Ray tracing which includes the following:
- Ray traced shadows
- Ray traced particles
- Ray traced water
- Ray traced objects like metal, buildings etc.
- Ray traced lights in space that bounces off your flying spaceship when it's near a star or planet!
- Ray traced stars, each star has their OWN self emissive ray tracing that reflects and can affect a planets day/night time, cold and heat!
- Added gamma rays that can happen and will kill you if you're within the galaxy!
- Added Super Nova's that can happen when collision between two stars happens!
- Added star collisions
- You can now fire a kamehameha to planets and make them explode!
- You can now make the townsfolk in your city create user generated and procedually generated fashion clothes!
- You can now visibly see stars and go near them.
- If your flying spaceship isn't powerfull enough, then flying into a star will kill you and destroy your spaceship!
- You can build bases near stars and have powerfull spaceships travel through a star, given you have the right materials for it!
- You can mother in this fucking build a base inside the star as long as you have one of the strongest/hardest/best resistance materials in the universe.
- Oh if you have the best materials in the universe you can live in the sun!
- You can create your own live action movie in the game and record it so people can watch those live actions in your own home or someone elses as long as there's a LG CX Oled nearby!"
"Oh by the way, all of that? It's for free!"
Very Good ideas bro.Hope to see them in the future
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually included some of these ideas. Raytracing alone would make NMS look WILD.

I’ve enjoyed all of the expeditions so far but this one has got me really excited because I love the Dune novels. Gonna start it tonight for sure.
The music is SICK! Really love it! Tremors in the sky, that's even more terrifying :D
Amazing as Always. No Mans Sky will remain replayable FOREVER
thank you hello games for the comback of the decade. you have created something very special
I love how eerie this is at points

Amazing truly amazing on the expedition screen right now..lets gooo!!
All right this is some of the most graboid running through the desert not getting slurped into the ground crossover with dune and the spice must flow that I have ever seen this looks to be the most fabulous expedition so far.
Having played this Expedition, I hope that Hello Games can keep some of the elements and shift them over to regular play. I would love to have Titan Worm pits located on worlds with worms appearing. Nothing like the expedition where every world rendezvous planet was infested. Not every planet in the main game has worms (in fact, they are few and far between). It would just lend more reality to the universe, instead of the Travellers and the three races being ubiquitous everywhere, there would be another lifeform that is also present to bring a little more cohesion.
"Usul has called a big one!" Haha, perfect just in time for the new Dune film!
Hell naw ain't no way I'm stepping on whatever planet that is....
(I will for sure, but I won't enjoy it)
My sentiments. I'm afraid this might not be a fun expedition...
TE AMAMOS SEAN!
omg i love playing your game Season4 for second time haha. thanks Sean Murray
No man's sky just keeps getting better, I even liked it when everyone said it was boring. I got the special disk that comes in a case with a small book in it, a short comic, and a book of concept art. Really amazing
YESSSSSSSS FINALLY 😭😭 IM SO HYPED
Exposition 4 is literally the Dune event community exposition. I like these cool cross-over events that NMS does
Amazing game, and optimization of the engine is one of the best i saw.
Game is running smooth on solid 60fps on max settings everywhere and in every situation, this is the way things should be done, there is no one frame drop.
Also constant flow of new content they are adding for free it's unbelivable because other companies would ask more money, this are basically full developed DLCs.
For everybody who's is looking open world space exploration game, there is no better title,No Man's sky is the best.
Keep up with good work guys!
True, i just wish it ran so silky smooth and gorgeous in VR but it's to be expected with my rig considering how much there is to render and keep track of. Most other VR titles are within a contained environment so high fidelity graphics are much easier to achieve.
Even so, i look forward to the day when i have a monster rig to run VR maxed out, and with next gen HMD's in 4k lol. I mean... that's going to be NUTS dude.
This expedition looks crazy!
This game just doesnt stop getting better and better

"You got a real quad to ride a Thresher Maw like it's a horse."

Worm update finally yes!
What's left after this? Asteroid mining on foot? Idk what else tbh.
SHIP CUSTOMIZATION
Wow! I can’t believe how amazing this game is!
As Peacefinder Simply stated below, I love all the updates. BUT, this skeleton of a universe needs some meat on those bones - Lore, History, and resulting things to do because of it. I'm writing a fic on the atlas-65 forums because I'm famished for that kind of stuff. Still, thanks for keeping us on our toes, and so bloody soon after 3.0!
The update is (apparently) mostly narrative driven so I'm hoping there will be some good lore & history.
Otherwise being able to make a lasting difference (from the choices the player makes rather than solely narratively) on the galaxy in some way would be great.
Dude what are you talking about? There is lore and game does have a story. Half the time people don't seem to pay attention to it.
There is heaps of lore and history right from launch but most people didn't play it/learn it, because that involves reading and there wasn't any hand holding. You still get most of it now with newer updates and playing through them.
OMFG!! I can't get home fast enough
Awesome Expedition!
Im getting a lot of dune vibes from this, looks great!
Damn, I will be stuck on this game forever. I like that.
I got a nice Tremor feel from this trailer. Now time to find one somewhere in the galaxy!
