Just got this machine a few weeks ago and I am loving it! Easy to use and clean. Only downfall is you can not adjust the amount of liquid it dispenses.
I had a DeLonghi ESAM 5500, very similar to this. It ran for years until the hot water generator stopped working. Cons: DeLonghi machines don't get the milk hot enough. I microwaved milk before frothing and that solves the issue. Pros: A very flexible, reliable, very quick and easy coffee machibe to use. They are also very easy and simple/cheap to clean & maintain. Half the price of a Jura with similar features, so, it's a win win. Parts are repairs are also much more cost effective.

Love the flat white feature! Pro, adjustable and simple button for fancy drinks. Con is maintenance, 😢 such is life, with anything worth having, you have to apply effort
Just bought this machine and it is quite good. I have an Saeco one at holiday home, Nespresso and Dolce Gusto at my home and from the 4 machines I prefer this Delongi one
Two questions...I am really bad at cleaning machines on time. How crucial is it to clean this once a week. I know I will forget/procrastinate. Also, can it make just steamed milk?
👍🏼👍🏼. Helped me make my decision after watching your reviews for this, the Smart and your comparison....LOVE my Flat Ehites - so know which one I'm going with. Thanks for the help!!
Hey! Nice review. Just one question as I saw you also tested the Jura ENA Micro 90 some time ago. Which one would you recommend? Especially as far as the milk system cleaning is concerned. We like a good capuccino before going to work but do not want that to become too much of a pain... (We are using capsules right now but beant-to-cup is so much better).
The Delonghi does automatically clean itself and you can store the carafe in the fridge between uses. This would be a good choice especially when you are on the run out the door in the morning- quick and easy!
thanks for the heads up.... tbh I wanted a Saeco first. Well, there is the PicoBaristo Deluxe [ this has a coffee chute sensor issue ] , there is a Series 5000 [ this is very cheaply done, it's horrible , there is the Lirika OTC [ the boiler is awful / faulty on almost all ]. So yea, been a super fun journey so far. I'll try to call up more and more services to find ONE SINGLE machine that can make coffee/cappuccino and does not break on me within a year. the service guy at one shop told me look into DeLonghi, that's why I am here. but it sucks then.

For a slim second I thought the "Beep" menu item said "Beer" (which would have resulted in an instant purchase). :)
haha amazing!

Cheers! Glad to hear!
Now after 3 years how is it doing? Costco has a big sale on these today.
Hey Gail...what happened to Latte Laboratory?
Can these do a standard crema coffee? I.e. a ~350ml mug of coffee with nice thick crema.

Can you not alter the temperature of the milk?
