When I saw the pieces separately I was like “they’re cute on their own but I’m not so sure about the combinations” but when I saw her clips I was just amazed by how good the outfits looked. She was already gorgeous but she looks so elegant and elevated now, even on comfy clothes it really looks sophisticated

In the video in which Mia thrifts a capsule wardrobe, which came out like 10 months later, her Mom is briefly talking about how much she loves the idea of a capsule wardrobes and is also wearing an outfit out of the items from this video. Not sure when that video was filmed, but since they are wearing masks and stuff there should at least be a few months inbetween the videos
Thanks for this tutorial on purchasing and styling a capsule wardrobe. I love that you used your mother as the subject. I'm in my 50s and found that the focus on her was helpful to my age group.

She had such a cute reaction to you getting rid of her clothes! Usually when doing a capsule wardrobe people will go through their clothes to decide what they need to get rid of and what they need to add, and put aside everything they are getting rid of for a bit. I think this method of just starting from 0 worked for your mom though

AAWW I love Mama Maples! She's so sweet and cute. The look of pure joy on her face when realizing she was the one getting the new clothes. You can tell when she really loves the clothes. Every outfit looks so cute! she matched the pieces really well. So adorable. I want a few of those pieces for myself. Especially the grey motto jacket and the mom jeans with the cute belt. Also love the tan jackets she found! That jumpsuit though! YESS she rocketed it.

The 30 piece wardrobe looks like it would be great for putting together outfits to go out to dinner, an appointment, running errands, or going to church, but what about just being at home-doing housework or such? You two are so cute together. I really miss my mother watching this. We used to have this much fun together. I tried to do a capsule wardrobe about two years ago, and got ride of a lot of clothes and bought basics, but never was able to get my wardrobe down to 30 pieces. And now my closets are full again. This reminded me that I really should try it again and stick with it. You are so very generous to do this for your mother.
I was sceptic because at first sight it was all basics and there weren't any eye catching pieces. But at the end all the outfits looked really stylish and well put together! Mama maples looks great!

I think the hardest part about choosing a capsule wardrobe is the color scheme. You want everything to go together but you also don't want exclusively neutrals and you want the colors to suit you. You did so well on that! It's a hard task especially when you are buying everything brand new and don't have the opportunity to lay everything out and mix and match. The only thing I didn't like was the shoes on this capsule list, too many heeled options for everyday use.

I’d try to make a blanket out of those clothes so they still have the memories but it’s not taking up space but you’re also getting use out of it

I actually cry 😢 sometimes bc that’s something I wanted my whole life! I have 3 older brothers but I almost don’t even consider them family bc there basically strangers! (I see them maybe 1-2 times a year 😭) I know my neighbor more than I know my own family 😿 😢 😭
