      If I could have only one bike, I'd go for the interceptor. With the meaty torque, cruising on it would be a delight even with luggage and a pillion on board. The vast service network would come handy even in the most remote locations. However, RE needs to prove that this isn't following the same build quality story which the Himalayan had to.

      @aamir.khan.1991 5 лет назад +13

      Not really, no. With a pillion who knows how to weight-distribute themselves and handle pillion dynamics, the D 390 is still a major hoot to ride. The corners are still that much more fun, those mini wheelies in low gears still happen with ease. The bike is still more dynamic than the other two. The tft dash, brilliant USD forks superb metzelers still remain intact with the pillion on board. . The exact reason why people who buy the D390 do so. And for the right pillion, the D390 is still a decently comfortable place. The fact that all three are mostly enthusiast's machines and are more frequently ridden solo than with a pillion further diminishes your claim.

    As someone who's ridden 125s, 300s, 650s, 900s, and owns a 500 - there's NO replacement for displacement. The KTM and Ninja need to stay high in the rev range to provide any sort of power. Haven't ridden the 390, but the Ninja is a real screamer when you go above 11K RPM.
    If you wanna pretend you're Rossi on public roads - get the ninja. If you wanna tour - get the Interceptor. 47 bhp is more than enough to keep you entertained. (this is coming from an owner of a 17 year old Suzuki GS500)

    this is exactly the three bikes i have in my mind. i previously owned a 2003 karizma. that was a perfect bike for me, had nice low end torque, can scream to high rpm if needed, looked sport yet a very comfortable bike. ninja was my dream bike all the while until i rode it. while its an amazing sports tourer, im more a city rider and love to have all the torque at low end. ktm 390 obviously became my next dream but with the heat issues, and at this price i wish it was a twin, interceptor seems to tick all the right boxes for me.
    PS: another main issues that keeps me far away from the Kawasaki is there astronomical spares cost, disc rotor cost upwards of 18k, sprocket, pads and other wear and tear will cost you around a lakh by the end of 2-3yrs.

    I would pick the interceptor simply because it’s so versatile (it’s comfortable and boy it has more than enough power) and also has a timeless design although it is heavier.
    I’d like the S&S exhaust on the Interceptor 😎 it would sound fab.

  • @tamilturbo2647

    I would choose KTM RC 390 instead, this version of Duke 390 has some issues with its digital display, Ninja is said to be expensive to run, RE is still too new to judge about long term reliability and service quality.

    Still the KTM for, considering the fact that i am a tourer, riding pace matters the most in longer rides. Slap on a Ride-on-Air, get a simple extended windshield, and the KTM could catch up with the big boys on our motorways. Apart from riding pace, the sheer control the KTM gives you, coupled with the Metzelers under wet conditions, it's unmatched for this segmet.
    Sorry RE.
