Great video! I'm in the market for a gaming mouse, and I just can't get over the lack of a hump for my palm. I have a Master 3S and absolutely love the support that mouse gives my hand because it tilts up so high on the left side. Unfortunately, there appears to be no gaming mouse on the planet that has this feature. All of them are basically level across the top, at most the section with the left and right mouse button is a bit slanted off to the right, just like the G502 X shown here. I tried a Razer Basilisk V3 Pro the other day, and it is going back next week because it doesn't give my palm any support. Well, it's a bit janky on top, but that's not even the major point. If Logitech had just taken the 3S, flipped the internals for lighter / faster ones and added a few buttons, that would've been my dream mouse. 😢
Aww man that’s rather unfortunate. Yeah, the recent trends have been to slim down everything to be the lightest it can be which I am personally impartial to. Maybe they’ll make it one day!
@@sideoftech Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I guess with size comes weight, and that's certainly against the trend. I can only hope one glorious day, at least _one_ manufacturer will accommodate me. 😋
Fabulous vid. I've stopped using my MX 3 as the lag has gotten extremely bad via the dongle so I've been looking for something wired and this has been a real help. Thanks
The only deal breaker between this mouse and a productivity mouse for me is I constantly switch from my PC and Mac Mini. It this thing had at least one Bluetooth connection as well as the USBc, I’d definitely consider it.
Ive been usiny the MX series since the first and even the anywhere series. Now I am lookiny into the g502x plus. Still on the fence, hope I can test it.
Wired will absolutely solve the problem since it’s the Bluetooth connection that is lacking. It’s something I hope they fix in the upcoming OS since I doubt it’s the actual Bluetooth receiver that’s the problem. Using the gaming mouse has been a much better experience tho, I’d highly suggest you switch if you don’t want to be fully wired!
I don’t believe so, but you can definitely customize the sensitivity to your liking and it’s highly customizable at that point. Maybe you can change it in your MacOS settings or PC settings?
Hey, I purchased g502x, but didn't have time to test right away. After a while I got to it and for me, it often stutters and jumps around. after switching it off and back again, it starts working. It's really frustrating and unfortunately I cannot return it. I've googled for the issue and didn't get to fix it. The mouse is great, but for me this is what happened.
It is! I wish it did have that option but also I’d rather have a super solid connection with the receiver than multiple Bluetooth singles bouncing all over.
As someone that has an MX Master 3 currently and am looking to replace it with something else because of the low polling rate, this is the perfect review for me. I don't game at all, i do audio editing and web stuff. Honestly, the MX 3 is basically perfect in every way, it's just that damn 125hz polling rate. The mouse cursor feels choppy or something, it gives my computer kind of a cheaper experience or something. It's gotta go. The mouse itself physically is awesome, feels premium in the hand, nice and solid (instead of hollow), comfortable ergonomics, amazing battery life (because of the low polling rate), but i just can't deal with the choppy mouse cursor anymore. I've been researching mice for 2 days straight, it seems like the G502x series will be the best as far as button programmability and ergonomics. My only reservation is that it might feel a bit more plasticky and cheaper-feeling compared to the MX3? Few questions if you don't mind: 1. Is the mouse cursor movement on the G502x noticeably more smooth and buttery compared to the MX 3? Is it way less choppy? 2. How is the build quality and materials compared to the MX 3? 3. Do you ever hit any buttons by mistake? 4. How do you find the sound of the clicks relative to the MX 3? Thanks so much!
It does feel more “plasticky” but that’s only because gaming mice are made to be as light as possible. By all means it doesn’t feel cheap. Due to the sensor it is 100% smoother and noticeable especially if you have 144hz monitor like I do. Materials are solid, does not feel cheap at all. The buttons are perfectly placed. It’s one of the many reasons why this design has been around for so long and why people continue to buy it. The clicks are meant to be more tactile and audible so you will feel the click much more compared to the silent click of the MX 3 S. Hope this helps!
@@sideoftech oh okay, thank you so much. Btw my mac is on Ventura 13, so synapse 3 is not available for Venture right? And i cant install synapse 2 either. So basically I cant tweak rgb or custom button or anything :((. You have any recommendations? Thank you
I have the same mouse for my PC, was looking at buying a Mac Mini M2 but noticed the G502 X Plus doesn't have Bluetooth so I'd have to buy another USB receiver or keep taking it out of my PC to my Mac every time I switch between work/play. Do you have the same problem or do you use a different mouse on your PC?
@@sideoftech Thought that might be the case, thanks for confirming. If you had both machines on at the same time, do they only use their own receiver or does one mouse move the cursor on both machines? I know it probably seems a weird question, it's just that the G502 receivers are supposed to be usable on any G502 so if you lost one you can buy a spare and it'll just work, but that makes me wonder if there would be in conflict having one plugged in on each machine?
If both of the computers are running on windows then you could utilize INPUT DIRECTOR software for this purpose, it even supports clipboard sharing I guess.
Funny I just bought this mouse today I have Mac os14.5. I tried using the adapter to use the dongle and it still work. Any info on getting lightspeed to work?😊
Not in this case sadly. You’d have to get an adapter if you use your laptop more mobile. I personally like using the trackpad while using it mobile, and use the gaming mouse on the desk 👍🏼
I tried connecting this mouse to my MacBook m3 pro. No luck. I even used the usb-c to usb-a adapter directly connected to the mouse and even tried that while connected to the dongle (don’t know why). Is this mouse just not compatible? G hub just can’t see it
Thanks for the reply. It finally worked after connecting it multiple times again and again. The dang thing just wouldn’t work right away on the first time. Fine now👍🏽 really good mouse too!
Same problems in wireless. Seems to be a Logitech problem. I want to go back to my retired Corsair M95 gaming mouse. Yes it's heavy but damn is it smooth and ergonomic and damn it has served me well for nearly 10 years now with no problems. Can't argue with the buttons around my thumb that have been set to tasks such as copy, past, run etc etc which makes the whole operation be easy and seamless.
Most likely since you can change the buttons to do scroll left or right. You can also use the scroll wheel itself to scroll left and right albeit really slowly 👍🏼
