Note to self: Don't program sarcastic computers, or they'll become GLaDOS...
But GLaDOS is amazing!
DeQuillsta Bombom,bombombom,bombombom
And silly
Whoever thought that programming a GLADOS for that ship was a good idea?!?
Oh my god, you're right.
Cave Johnson?
ok the fact that someone has gone back and changed the word gravity to mavity in the video description is absolutely fantastic. how many other videos have they changed the word gravity in? the level of dedication to the bit is frankly absolutely hillarious and i love it
Lot of hate on this episode but I personally love it. So utterly unique with the first person perspective, the fact the Doctor actually lost for once, and the way the villain outsmarted him. Still get the chills thinking about the ending.....
Polaris Supreme I liked most of it. I was just disappointed that the creature in the capsule, which had been teased for the entire episode, was exactly the same as all the others. They had such a great opportunity to have the final villain be really creative and terrifying. But no, exactly the same, just bigger.
The computer is so sarcastic
why does everyone hate this episode? I found it pretty entertaining
Yeah and it was also very scary.
This was great. Like the Midnight Entity and Waters of Mars, had that feel to it, like John Carpenter's The Thing..
Me too
Imagine how much better this episode would have been if the Vashta Nerada where the enemy. The need to be brought back!
No they don't. They were a good one off villain. Bringing them back isn't a good idea.
They weren't really villains, the suits were. It would be cool to see Vashta Nerada as pitch black humanoid figures like a sort of hive mind.
No they don't and i think it would work for any episode other than that one
"Everyone must do the SOOOOONGGGG-ge"
1:54 That sound when he turns on map is directly from Dead space and i loved it
I actually really liked season 9 and Peter capaldi as the 12th doctor. He's my second favourite
This episode is terrifying!!! I enjoyed it so much, but the bit at the end where he rubs his eye is a scary!!!
I personally love this episode and how it does a found footage style
3:07 This is why I love found footage techniques.
I don't care what anyone says, I really enjoyed this episode. It was both unique and subtle, underneath the uncomplicated B monster movie action. Best of all worlds!
Oh, here we go.....
I'll get some popcorn, it's going to get nasty down here in the comments.
I really don't get why people hate this episode
+Owen Owenator I could tell you but I'd need nearly as much time as the episode lasted.
Quite truly my least favourite Doctor Who story of both the new AND classic run.
AWFUL in every way.
Tim Austin I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you. It's not the best story but it doesn't deserve all of the hate it gets.
Owen Owenator these are all personal opinions, of course. Good that we can disagree. But I'd rather watch a double bill omnibus of The Twin Dilemma and Time and The Rani in a continuous loop for eight hours than ever watch Sleep No More again. Ridiculous monster, woeful script (Just a really, really, really bad concept for a monster all round), pedestrian acting from most, poor directing, poor editing,.... It's just a litany of failure to my eyes.
Philipp Tapsell I enjoy it more than Sleep No More, that's for sure lol
I understand why people don't like this episode. I felt it was unfinished at the end and wasn't confused properly. But i think the concept of the sandmen creatures was pretty good. But it was a strange episdoe. Hell Bent tho... 😫
Great, now my eye dust is alive and trying to kill me. Thanks, Doctor Who!
Kinda reminds me of the Servant Grunt from Amnesia.
Literally what I thought of when I saw this episode
I may have just pooped my pants a little when that person turned around at 1:49 and there was a sandman behind him XD
Personally, I enjoyed this one.
I know everybody else didn't.
+MaddoxProductions1 They didn't even have cameras, Clara was starting to use a "camera" when she didn't have one.
Sebhan02 That was addressed in the episode.
It was the sleep dust that was recording everything.
yeah, this is my favourite episode of all.
What did you like about this episode?
Karlo Cvitak
how it throws out the idea that you can trust the characters- it is a really common thing in fiction that you can trust the facts the characters state. this throws that out the window, making it all the more creepy and unsettling.
love this episode. Can't understand why others don't.
People have their own opinions. Understand now?
For all the hacking the 'Sleep No More' receives, I do quite like the idea that the Doctor didn't really save the day this time; he's brilliant but like any other living thing not perfect, every once in a while even he'll get it wrong or end up on the losing side.
Am i the only one that liked this episode?
no you aren't
It's a guilty pleasure for me:')
It's nothing special but I enjoyed it like I do every episode.
I don't see why it is hated
MiLife Animations No me neither. I suppose it was different to what us Doctors did in the past and people weren't into that.
The third time round watching this I actually really enjoyed it. The first two times I began feeling bored half way through.
love your doctor who!!!
note to self when going on a rescue mission bring twenty people
The cloister bell at the end is starting to worry me.
I actually really liked this episode. All the people that don't aren't inventive and don't know how to think outside of the box.
well, there's thinking outside the box, and there's thinking outside the box *badly*. mark wrote it in an intresting and inventive yet bad wey. this monster sucks.
יונית וריקה Exactly Blink was a good example of thinking outside the box, but this... this was a cringe fest.
Do you honestly think that everyone who doesn't share your opinion isn't "inventive?" People need to think like you do to be a creative person?
Or maybe it's because despite it's creative concept, the episode was flat out boring?
no there not someone can hate this episode and still be creative
I still don’t understand why people didn’t like this episode I bloody loved the thing I thought it was great. One of my favourite one offs
You know, the idea of sentient eye-crust monsters would have been sufficiently stupid on its own. You didn't have to go and make them look like scale models of Ghostface made out of boogers.
I knew the ship was going to ask for mr sandman
I haven’t watched this episode, but I can already tell I might like it
This is one of these few episodes when there's hardly anything in it worthy of credit. Most of the acting's alright, but that is pretty much it. It's ironic how it's called 'Sleep No More', because that's all anyone did all episode.
Please do not compare "Heaven Sent" with the modernist popular pop of RTD.
- It did found footage well. I am in general not a fan of found footage films (at all really). But it was done well here.
- The Doctor and Clara had some good realistic dialogue like that of quite a bit of Series 8.
- The episode had good 80's/90's science fiction, horror music that I quite liked. The soundtrack for Series 9 in general is really good. My favourite is probably the Viking training music in 'The Girl Who Died'.
- The story introduced the idea of clone/grown soldiers which I expect and hope will be developed on in the future.
- It cast a transgender actress (Bethany Black) which is good for the sake of society's progression.
- It was well acted in general. The characters of 'Under the Lake' were mostly somewhat cliché and plain, so for a similar styled story, it was done better in that aspect (not that certain characters even had as much screentime. They were just more believable).
- It also had a really good premise (unfortunately just let down by the complication of the way it was done).
For me it's just the ending where it loses it but considering it was a 2-part story squashed down into 1 part, I think it did well.
+Mayo Tango131 What do you mean by that?
+OJWH also one of the few but rare storys where no matter what the doctor or the companion or anyone does
No one can help
disagree with the comment however your comment made me laugh as well
Seems like an episode about falling into a gas giant would be more interesting
I fell asleep in the 4 minute clip, let alone the full episode...
Ironic really...
i remember watching this and being shocked because it was the the first ever episodes of doctor who i ever skipped
Never have your back to the rest of the room in a horror situation. Otherwise, you might just get yourself killed.
NEVER SAY "This day can't get any worse"
I loved this episode tbh
Where is Spider-Man when we need him!?!?
FANTASTIC!!!!!
Truly horrifying...
And wait GLaDOS!?!??!!?!?!?!?!?!?
any one dissapointed when they asked to sing the sandman song it wasnt matalica.
Ah yes, the doctor who episode with GLaDOS and the creatures from Amnesia
This episode was so bad I had completely wiped it from my memory until now, thanks for reminding me!!
there should be more doctor who episodes filmed in 1st person
The nightmare of Capaldi is...
~”Mr Sandman”~
i don't know why people hate it that much i mean the ending freaked me out and it is well written by Mark Gatiss. The woman who lived is a way worse episode
Still better than series 11 and 12
No joke I really cannot remember this episode. Why is there a strange Glados voice?
good episode.
That voice reminds me of glaDOS
I am so strange. I like this episode, Hell Bent, and many of the episodes other people just detest.
Biohazard Entertainment While I dislike this episode, I do seem to like episodes people don't.
Doc903 Even Love and Monsters?
I tend to do that, too. I personally haven’t watched the full episodes of anything past the middle of Capaldi’s first season (Prime took it down. Eerggh, BBC why can’t you just let us Americans enjoy your show?!), but I’ve generally liked all the DW episodes I’ve watched.
Why so many comments about Hell Bent here?
BEST.EPISODE.EVER.
Hell Bent was second best.
I think he's joking.
Ha good one. You're joking right? Please tell me you are
good but not the best
Stop lying to yourself, you Steven Moffat fanboy. Nothing will beat Love and Monsters. Ever.
So torn on this episode
This episode ruined a season of amazing episodes. I loved all of them and this one was horrible. But then, Mark Gatiss hardly wrote any good episodes.
I thought Cold War was pretty good.
I have mixed feelings for this episode. I like the idea of what the found footage is for, the sleep stuff and the scene in the video is pretty intense. But it ended abruptly and I don't like the monsters.
Last time I arrived this early, Hell Bent didn't exist.
Hell Bent was actually good. Sleep No More was the worst.
Hell bent ruined the series more so i would beg the differ.
One above all Yes. I liked it. My opinion is not subject to your approval.
ShadowCat lol
ShadowCat kk
I have a question, what channel does dr. who go on? xD (if it goes on tv xD)
Nickname BBC ONE
The robot sounds like GLaDOS.
in coming we hear you
I think this episode is one of the greatest pieces of television ever.
The computer reminds me of Glados from Portal XD
I need to play Portal again...
My primary function is performing Aperture tests
As much as I like Capaldi as the Doctor, Q from James Bond would be an excellent choice
***** well how about someone in their middle to late 30s, early 40s at best
YES!
Morpheus drinking a 40 in a death casket!
I like this episode.
Spooky sand
Songs of sandman in doctor who
The Ai sounds like glados
Does anyone else think that the computer sounds like GLaDOS?
The most frustrating thing is literally everything in the background of the ep could have made a better story. A Shakespearan moral debate on changing nature's fundamentals? Humanity being forced to work so hard they can't even escape via sleep? A look at people spreading out across the solar system to flee a catastrophe on Earth? They could all have been neat, but no, we get weird muck monsters.
I thought GLaDOS was about to sing Mr. Clean or CCFH
The idea of this episode was great. I think the execution could be better if the identity of the "sandmen" was only revealed later, so the episode could at least rely on the suspense. The plot was just... Confusing and bland. Also, sleepdust monters that fall to pieces if there is stronger gravity but get past fire without problems?
This is better than Love and Monsters.
Let this be the only clip of this episode, and get on to Face the Raven.
Also, will you guys be uploading Clara's death?
i think it was already uploaded
Victor Polvora #HSOGameplays #NFDC Clara's death hasn't been uploaded yet. Anyways, Face the Raven comes after this episode.
1:06 😍😍😍
Is that Glados?
Come on, show us some clips from a good episode like Heaven Sent.
the Rohit voice reminds GLaD0s from portal
The most irritating thing about this episode is that, for me, Series 9 would have been flawless without it.
+ObviouslyKieran Each to their own but I thought Series 9 was a real return to form. Series 7, on the other hand, was a spectacular failure by DW standards.
Pom pom pom pom, we happy few
Did the Sandmen kill the second guy?
No, bad Doctor Who channel
Showing us this episode
I will never hate an episode of Doctor Who anywhere near as much as The Girl in the Fireplace.
Watch "The Battle Of The Ranskoor Av Kolos" you will change your mind
the voice sound like portal
It's still creepy
Bring the Krillatines back
This episode just did not make sense at all.
Am I the only one that didn't think this episode is that bad? I never understood what the monsters were really though.
The monsters were sleepdust.
no no no, they were worse than just that, They were literally eye crust
Why is being uploaded now it aired like a year ago
You're new here.
The channel does that with every series.
No.
I've seen a few people mention the Sandmen's resemblance to the monster in Amnesia: The Dark Descent. But am I the only one who thinks they also look a bit like the Mumblers from Silent Hill?
Sidenote, I disliked this episode when it first aired, but maybe I should give it a reappraisal.
When I first saw it, all it reminded me of was ringwraiths
Good
Do the songuh.
The only good scene in Sleep No More.
oh the irony. i almost fell asleep watching this episode. Worst in NuWho so far. shame cause the rest of the series were absolutely brilliant.
Portal?
It seems like some of you are never ever pleased with what you get. Yeah, this episode wasn't that great, but that doesn't make it "the worst series ever"
Big-Time Entertainment Precisely. I really enjoyed series 9 except for this episode and the Ashildr/Me episodes. Most Whovians just jump on the hate train to fit in. It's the main reason why Moffat gets so much hate when actually, I'm a big fan of his work. I just wish they could realise that they can do more than just hate.
ded channel rip 👏🏻👊🏻 opinions. individuality. I like you.
