    The reason you loose your night vision with white light is not because of your pupils. It's because the visual purple also know as rhodopsin is degraded by white light and has to regenerate before your night vision comes back. Your pupils are pretty quick to adjust to lighting conditions.

    Got an early Christmas gift when I found my old T1 in my coat pocket. Great gift, lol.
    I got it on sale and when it was lost I got a fc11 which is okaaaay but just too focused for 99% of what I use it for and more weight I don’t need.
    The Thrunite was my favorite and even survived being knocked off a trailer when I packed up kayaks and forgot it. My Swiss Army knife did not survive the same fall. Great flashlights

  • @gregmiller628
    @gregmiller628 Год назад

    Yes, very informative.
    One point that I would add is that deep red LEDs are the most efficient at converting electricity to light and so will usually either run longer on a given battery or put out more light. Blue LEDs are half as efficient as deep red, and green is about 15% of blue. White LEDs are not really emitting white light: the emitter is creating blue light, much of which is converted to different wavelengths as it is absorbed by phosphors and then re-radiated; there is energy loss in this process so they are even less efficient than blue (and thus also give off more heat). All included the deep red LEDs are much more efficient than white so if you have that option the flashlight should be useful for much longer on a charge.
