    These are both amazing lights. I have purchased 3 P20iX’s because I had coworkers like them so much. Either of these will kick the shit out of a store bought mag lite product.
    Personally in industrial factory work we preferred the Nightcore retention plastic holster on this model as it won’t come out unless you pull in a specific direction which is handy when crawling under machinery.

    I have the Nitecore P20iX.
    The reason is reliability and longevity. I can't afford a light stopping work in the dark for whatever reason.
    The LEDs in the Olight flashlight, without thermal limiter, will only last for a small number of thermal cycles (between 500 and 1000) before they get delaminated (phosphors detaching from the InGaN die); while the LEDs in the Nitecore, being always in characteristic, will deliver all the rated lifetime (50,000 hrs) independently from how many times they have been cycled.
    Both flashlights are very sensitive to the internal resistance of the battery; anything above 20 mΩ will degrade operations significantly. Sadly it is not possible to use an high grade vape battery in both lights, because they use modified 21700 cells (right because of reducing internal resistance by not relying on the flashlight body contacts), so replace the cells every 100 cycles, and never operate the light below 0 °C (32 °F).
    Anthony

    Well done. Very similar lights on first look, but oh so different. Cheers

    Incidentally these two are those that are always in my bag. I don't think the tail magnet on the Seeker 3 Pro is for attaching to metal surface, unlike the Baton. It is not strong enough to attach vertically or horizontally, strictly for the magnetic charger, though unlike the P20ix it can tailstand easily. Also one thing you cannot see immediately is that the Seeker 3 Pro will not turbo if the battery is below certain level, I think 50 or so.
    I like the tint of the P20ix better because it is less annoying to my eyes at least, but reading many forums I can see many people hate the tint shift (or "Cree Tint Shift" some call it). The size feels better in my hand as well. However, the P20ix gets uncomfortably hot if you use it at anything above level 3 for more than a few minutes, while the Seeker 3 Pro here can do High and still feels fairly comfortable in hand without glove for quite a while.
    Here in Indonesia Nitecores are way cheaper, the P20ix costing about IDR 1.5mil while the Seeker 3 Pro costs IDR 2.3mil both on their respective official stores. Maybe that's because Nitecore's largest distribution center is just next door in Singapore, not to mention it is Singapore's favorite brand.

      I know it'll add into the cost but Nitecore recently sells a U shaped tail cap (NTC2i) that you can use to replace your P2iX's cap that will allow you to tail stand. The recently released Nitecore P23i came with this tail cap by default.

    Nitecore turbo mode runs around 2.5 hours. The asterisk is with factory heat ramping turned off IIRC (not available to consumers; if you read the asterisk info). There are a few runtime tests available on the Internet.

    Love my Seeker 3 Pro for camping, around the house and working on the car etc because of the magnetic end. However, I also got the warrior 3s for the tactical option as it produces a different throw beam. Good comparison vid!

      Man these are so different, the NITECORE was made for self defense, all switches are on the back for one handed operation, holster for easy access, tactical mode to take away mode memory and steel bezel with ceramic beads for breaking things like faces and glass, that nitecore will eat that olights lunch then laugh 😂

    Love ur videos first off second im starting to collect flashlights and was wondering which one should i get first any thoughts?

    • @flashlightcrazy
      @flashlightcrazy  Год назад

      First choice is always tricky. It depends on budget and what you will use it for.
      I would look into fenix, olight, nitecore, weltool, acebeam. they are my top brands. but they are big brands so will be more costly than lets say convoy, wurrkos, manker, wuben.
      Do some thinking about what you will use it for and get back to me so we can narrow down some options

    I don't understand the term "tactical" when referring to flashlights, does it just mean that it has a tail switch or is there more to it than that? Because the positioning of a switch shouldn't require a new product category.

    • @flashlightcrazy
      @flashlightcrazy  8 месяцев назад

      It has become murky waters this whole "tactical" thing. In my experience and opinion, the term tactical is just a marketing word used by companies to compete with each other. Because a light that is used in conjunction with a special operations group or some kind of organisation that runs tactical operations is by association a tactical light. Now, that could be almost any light that exists. Yes, there are many lights that would be more useful in those situations, like single switch lights, single output lights, and so on. But really, a light is not tactical until it is used in a tactical situation.
      Marketing is beast of its own

    the Nitecore doesn't stay on turbo as a safety feature. so if you leave the light on you want burn a hole in your pocket or start a fire

    • @littlepacificstudios

      Seeker 3 almost caught me on fire... I do Pest control for a living, and it turned on somehow in holster and melted the top of it and I started smelling something while reaching into my truck and something was burning, and it was me! Great point to make.... They absolutely will burn your house down if you don't watch them!
