    Got this a few months back and managed to start trying it out over the last 4 weeks. It's an excellent torch, insane amount of light. But the one big criticism I have is the poor battery life. I have the torch running on high brightness (1200 lumen) constantly while out walking along the fields and woods. The battery lasts 1 hour 10 minutes before it switches off (this is with backup mode switched off). I am only pleased I purchased a second 21700 battery to give me more run time.

    • @Lazerscythe
      @Lazerscythe Год назад

      I've got the same torch and find on a full charge I get a little over 2 hours. Though I rarely ever have it at High for that long, for walks I usually do medium as 1200 lumen is quite bright.

    • @TallysVids
      @TallysVids Год назад +1

      @@Lazerscythe Yeah I primarily use mine on high as I need the extra brightness and reach from the high power, as I often watch the deers in the field over the other side of the river and find medium won't cut it for me due to the distance. I do occasionally use it on medium when I am walking along not so dark paths and where there are more people walking along, as I find 1200 lumen/high power can be a bit too bright when other people are walking towards me. I have noticed on high power that the torch does get quite warm and I can feel the warmth from the torch through my glove, which is a welcome thing in winter. It is a fantastic torch and it does certainly pack some power in it's very pocket size, but I just wish it lasted for 2+ hours on high, I suppose nothing is perfect and most things have cons.

      @@TallysVids Ah fair, if you live/walk more rural routes the extra throw is nice.
      Have you seen the MT10 by LEDlenser, it seems better for your use case as it is an "outdoor" focused torch for walks and hikes.
      Advertised 6 hours at 1000 lumen and is USB rechargeable, so you can hook up a standard usb cable to the torch and a powerbank in your pocket.

    Hey Torch Shop! Great videos. Question. I'm looking at the p6R signature and really like what it has to offer however, I just was checking the specs on the cheaper p7r core which has the same max output but says it has more reach than the signature and a little longer run time. What makes the signatures worth the extra $$$?

    • @ledtorchshop
      @ledtorchshop  2 года назад +5

      Hey Daniel,
      We don't sell the P6R but we do sell the P7R. The reason the P6R Signature is more expensive than the P7R Core is because it is part of the Signature Series, meaning you get the Signature features. The P7R Core is limited to the Core features.
      Hope this helps! 😊

    Great video. Quick question. Are you able to purchase another battery, so that you can have a spare one to put in, when one runs out of charge?

    • @swamivandermerwe
      @swamivandermerwe 2 года назад +1

      Yes, any type or brand of 21700 will work in any P7R core or sig, actually even a 18650 fits too, it will be a little loose around the waist and a bit less power ...but it works. I know because I have aP7R Core and Sig. You must do research before you buy the H series to see what battries they take...most are customised/proprietery ledlenser only so you are tied in with their batteries only.

      You could get the nitcore e4k it lacks the zoom feature but it has a 5000 ma 21700 battery and the turbo can reach 4k lumens, which is VERY bright. It is also way kore compact and fits well on your pocket and comes with a clip. Very nice light, but you should get a charger because it doesn't come with one. Also, it is waterproof (ip68). Very nice light!

    I bought this light and was surely disappointed. Ive got olight flashlights for half the price that absolutely destroy this light in performance and durability. Its such old tech. It felt light my grandfather's maglight compared to my olights. I highly recommend anyone that is lookinv for a light to give olight a go over this light. I mean they have lights that are half this size and price that blow this light out of the water in power and run time. And i challenge anyone to break an olight. The are almost indestructible and last forever. Ive got several that are daily used and over a decade old

    I HATE how everyone these days is doing everything on one button. All I want is a bright torch that has an on/off button. I don't want a button that cycles modes, that has multi functions. All I want is an on/off button. Why is this impossible to have these days?

    • @georrgw

      You can actually programm this flashlight to behave exactly this way (in exactly the brightness you want).
      I totally agree that this cycling through modes and different blinking/strobing modes are absolutely annoying.

      @georrgw you dont have to cycle through anything, this one is on/off. It only cycles if you keep pushing the button willy nilly. Push it once on........push it once off. How is that annoying?

      @@swamivandermerwe ANSI FL1 test guide definition of run time: "Run Time is defined as the duration of time from the initial light output value - defined as 30 seconds after the point the device is first turned on - using fresh batteries, until the light output reaches 10% of the initial value."
      that means as long as initial value was 1000 lumen and it didn't drop below 100 lumen until 9h mark, they can advertise this light as 1000 lumen for 9h.
      On MT14 1000 lumen will only stay for couple minutes and then drop to 500 lumen for some time before dropping to 200 lumen for remaining time to achieve 9h. you can roughly calculate run time at full power from lower setting - 10 lumen for 192h, that's 1/100 of full power. 192h/100=less than 2 h at 1000 lumen which is not that good actually considering size, weight and capacity of battery. Obviously its only theoretical because there's more energy wasted as heat at higher lumen.
      Olight is definitely more transparent, you get exact run time in minutes at specific lumen setting.
