When Lange came in 1984 he kick started all the Maori land claims that have costed and are still costing the country to this day 39 years latter . He opened the door for the whole poor Maori syndrome that snowballed out of control and nearly 4 decades latter Māoris are no better off , still have the highest representation for gangs , imprisonment , child abuse , etc which is quite an achievement considering they are only 16 odd percent of the nz population . Lange shot the whole country in the foot there !
