- Hi all!
This is a video of me playing the Grieg Piano Concerto Mvt. 1 with my high school orchestra. A while back, I won my school's concerto competition, and a few weeks ago I got the opportunity to perform the piece with the symphony orchestra.
This is NOT in any way a "professional" recording (I still have a LOT of work to do in that piece). This is more-so a memory I can look back on in a few years, or possibly decades later, and watch/show everyone what I did in high school!

Been watching your Minecraft’s videos lately when I stumbled across this video: I was so impressed by your playing! I stopped playing piano at the start of the pandemic, but your video inspired me to pick it up again with the Grieg Concerto’s first movement. Safe to say after two weeks of playing again, I’m hooked. I’ve gotten all the way to the cadenza and am starting to polish it up.
I don't remember who gave me your RUclips channel - someone in orchestra definitely - but I come back to this video every once in awhile. I was a freshman violist when I saw you perform this and I was so in awe of how good it was. Definitely a core orchestra memory, it's so nice it's preserved here on YT!

I never expected to find an old classmate here, but man, this brings back memories. I remember sitting in the audience after playing in the orchestra that I was a part of. You did a really great job playing this piece by memory.
I came here to see this and it's incredible. The time and effort to practice that is insane cuz I know myself as a pianist.

I played this in high school too, but only a year ago. I have to say, you outdid me. I hope that by the time it's been 3 years since I played the solo, my channel is as successful as yours.

Edit: I just realised that basically nobody will get that reference - look up "Morecambe and Wise Mr. Preview sketch" to see why Grieg's Piano Concerto makes me think of that quote.

I don't know how good of an idea that is on her part. It's probably better to focus on practicing one instrument before trying to practice another one.

Have you learned any of Rachmaninoff’s works? You’re really good, it’s scary. Especially considering I only knew you for the silly Minecraft videos.
I know you won’t see this, but I found your minecraft videos on recommended and thought you were just another talentless minecraft youtuber, You blew me away with your talent, though a complex sounding piece you can remember patterns to make it easier. I would love to know how long you have been playing for, I couldn’t tell if you were a bit heavy handed or it was the piano but Amazing performance. Pure talent.
