Ahh! This is the first time anyone has even mentioned 'The Cat From Outer Space' in passing in any media YT videos I've watched and it made my day. I recently started collecting DVD/BluRay again and it was one of my first pickups this year. It's such a charming little movie. What a treat to see it's included in the shop's VHS collection ^_^
It was awesome, and Rob… he really does know his 80s movies.
Honestly I could have spent all day there chatting to him about these things. Maybe there will be another look around there of some kind in a future video 🤷🏼♂️
What an incredible use of the space 🙏 the nostalgia came flooding back, if I’m ever in the area, I will definitely pop in. I love that the items can get a second lease of life. Think I have a slight hoarding mentality and like that there’s a use for everything.
I’m going to make sure I revisit again soon. They keep changing up their shelves so there’s always something to rediscover.

It’s an awesome little place Jeremy. They do some events there too. If you’re planning on visiting it might be worth checking to see what they have going on and tie it to a visit.

They’re always changing up those VHS on the shelves and giving me fresh titles to check out.

You should have taken him a laserdisc!! He must have loved pan and scan 🤣 to possess all them VHS!! Format joke aside, it looked a great shop.
I used to own a lot of those WWF wrestling VHS tapes. They were notorious for mould and having lines on the screen.
I actually had some laserdisc to one side for him. Completely forgot to take them. All though the car was pretty packed with the TVs too.
He had one of the wrestling videos playing while I was there. Think he manages to clean a good few of them up nicely.
I’ll take the laserdiscs on another visit for sure. Good excuse to get back there.

Such a fun little shop, wanted to do a video when I visited and try to capture some of the nostalgia I was feeling while there. Need to go back to pick up a couple of bits soon. I did intend to pick up ‘One Night Rental’ but with everything else going on…. Forgot.

Loved seeing the place on a video rather than photos - the guys seem very like minded to myself - love the dedication to preserving the memories of the pre Blockbuster Video store era - will be visiting this store if I am ever up that way, unfortunately it’s the other side of the country for me

It was a wonderful little visit. I’ve managed to drag out some more bits that they might find useful for in their 80s room. Gives me a nice excuse to visit them again. Next time I will be making purchases… completely spaced and missed picking up anything on this occasion.
They have a big event on October were other retailers of VHS and 80s stuff are invited to sell there. Going to make sure I pop along to that.

It all goes around again and again doesn’t it.
I’ve not got the space and I’m just happy that they go to a place or person who cares for them and knows how to treat them. Would have really hurt me to send to landfill. I do still have some laserdisc though 😂

Life is a little insane at the moment so just not had chance to sit and start planning and playing. I think I may have to try and do a couple of videos at the same time. One I’ll take the time and do with the new software (might take a few weeks) and the other I’ll keep doing on my phone to try and maintain weekly videos.

I got all my VHS tapes and 3 machines... A lot of money on horror tapes on ebay 😊
Those horror titles are the ones that seem to stand the test of time with cost and value. Some are really pricey. Have you got your ‘grail’ titles ?

Some nice little places around Derbyshire. I keep meaning to explore a little more around the area myself too, I need to find where they filmed bits of The Princess Bride (around Castleton area)
