I love apples for fall. This is perfect. My grandpa used to bring us a box of apples when he visited. My kids love home-dried apples, so in the fall our home is filled with the fragrance of apples in the dehydrator. I'd kinda like to make a blanket all in apples! 💕 Thanks for this tutorial, Jayda!

I love your apple square for September, September happens to be my Birthday month so September is extra special to me, Thank you for all of your videos I love watching them, they have helped me so much to learn to crochet. My grandmother died when I was young and I always remember her crocheting but I was to young to learn a lot of crocheting steps but I did learn how to make a chain from her that was about it, so now I am almost 47 years old and you have taught me all the things I didn't get to learn from my grandmother about crocheting thank you for that I have always wanted to crochet and now I can.

Just finished my second apple square. Doing 2 sets...one with brighter colors (bright red apple on yellow background) and one with darker colors (darker red apple on green background with a rusty gold leaf). They are getting easier for this new crocheter. Many thanks for your wonderful tutorials. Also finished a minion stocking and it's adorable...on to the kitty stocking...great Xmas gifts for my little nieces and nephews.

I thought this square was going to center around leaves, however, the first block you did, certainly screams harvest. The falling leaves (or Fall) yarn background, along with the apple are perfect. The other 2 variations also work great. Again, a great choice of squares to choose from or do all three, just because. 😄

Once again you hit a home run with the apple square for September. I've been busy with some family emergencies and haven't done the August square yet and since I am making two blankets I now have to do 4 squares. Sunday evening I will sit down and catch up. I'm excited for the October square and i just bet we can all guess what it will be. Thanks Jayda for the awesome fun and craft.

I like the first square. I used the same variegated yarn to make a runner for my dresser. I used the corner to corner pattern you showed.
I had an idea for a video. I saw a pattern called cat on a fence. It's so cute! It looks fancy but is easy to do. I think everyone could do it.

Oh, a small tip I found along the way, if anyone needs to (which I will), place a stitch mark at the first slip stitch in the apple, this will remind you this is the start of the row.

So sad that redheart has discontinued the tlc yarn. I really like all the apple squares. I can't wait to start but I need to finish my Christmas projects first.
Hi Melissa, I still find the odd bit of TLC here and there, I guess some stores are just selling off the old stock :) I'm sure Red Heart has a super saver in something similar, it's such a beautiful colourway!
They do It's called "Fall" in Super Saver. That is what I am using, it is very similar to what you have.
For the blankets I am gathering the patterns first, then making 5 of each square so my grandkids 3 boys and 2 girls each have one. I think it would be easier to make all the squares first then put them together

i love this square so much, ive decided to dedicate a whole blanket to it!! nice deep red apples with oatmeal squares, brown boarders and a matching red scalloped edge around the finished project. in my head it looks amazing lol. how can i share a picture with you once its done??

I didn't do this one this year; because doing a Scrap\Ugly Granny Square Blanket this year. Doing one square each month...great to use up scraps...because mine came out so SMALL compared to yours lol. Thinking I used to small size of a hook; so may save this one for next year...that or a temperature blanket...:) I just sold a Harry Potter pillow...and thought these would be great fronts for a pillow...

How long have you been making calendar blankets? The one with the apple. I'm interested, in it. I've had 2 strokes, & was in a coma for 5 weeks, after collapsing in our living room with 6 months after my Precious Mom's funeral. I was on life support, & a feeding tube for just about 5 weeks. Now, I have PTSD, ADHD, CSA SURVIVOR, DV, IPVD SURVIVOR, Borderline OCD. Now, I come to find out I have HyperCapnia. Please GOOGLE it. It takes soooo long to write down since, I've had to relearn how to do everything from scratch again. The HyperCapnia has to do with always, 24/7, on oxygen. My autoimmune system doesn't work right, so if I get COVID-19, I will die within 7 to 12 days. Did you do a calendar blanket, with an apple square? Do you have a tutorial for the squares? Please send an email & let me know. So many of the real popular crochet site couldn't be bothered to answer your questions, because they're too good for the little people. Sorry, she's plain, uneducated, thinks she knows everything about yarn, & I no longer subscribe to her channel. She started out so sweet, country girl, then over night , she became an authority. Nope, not for me! Jayda, please, stay the way you are. You're so personable, & I love you to pieces.

Forgive me I've only been crocheting for a couple of years cannot read a pattern I try I love this blanket you are making this apple square gave me an idea cannot seem to find one on RUclips for I need the videos I would like to make an apple granny square blanket or scarf or some blanket of sorts for my sister she's a school teacher and she loves apples. Jayda, my daughter is begging for me to add a caterpillar to her apple square! I cannot seem to find a tutorial anywhere for a caterpillar applique or anything similar. Would you be able to give me an idea? I am trying to catch up with my sister in law and see if we can make up our own pattern for one. Hi Brittney, sometimes it's all in the way you sew ;) Just a simple, straight piece in a small stitch and then wiggle it as you sew it down!

Any suggestions on how to do blanket squares for months that have odd number of days like July? I have 31 squares, one for each day of July, but since I'm one square extra, I have no idea how to join them. Any suggestions?
Hi! Last year I did a square a day Calendar blanket and I joined them all in rows of 14. I had a few left over at the end, so I made a nice big sc wedge and added that to the bottom, then signed it :) You can how I did that here: ruclips.net/video/YfTjLWrLtOI/видео.html
