I decided to make all 3 motifs so far and I love it. I have never added appliques to projects before so this is a learning adventure and I was wondering what April is gonna be like. I hope some kind of flower probably tulips but I prefer pansies and irises, whatever you come up with will be fine with me. I do love your tutorials. I prefer afghans/blankets over everything else. Thank you so much for your insight.

Wonderful idea .. It's Summer in January here though so I guess my Calendar Blanket would be a little topsy-turvy. 🙂
Hi Daisy, I think everyone in the southern hemisphere will most definitely want to rearrange their squares into a sequence that makes sense for their climate :)
is bealtiful
❤💙💚💛💜
Do you think you could make a pig plushie? My science class is starting our pig dissection and I want to shove an adorable pig plush in their face to convince people to do a virtual dissection :P
Thank you for the suggestion :)
Hey I was wondering if for a video could you do a vlog while you yarn shop. It would be so cool to see the different yarn stores you have along with the yarn in your area. Thx I hope you do it if so can you give me a shout out. Thx your amazing
crochet
that's awesome
Thank you Jennifer!
Hi, would you please consider explaining the differences in yarn between the UK and US and the differences in stitches. Thank you so much!
Hi! Thank you for the suggestion :)
Hi Jayda. I am working this project with you and using identical yarn and crochet hook as the January and February squares but this square has worked up slightly smaller. I have re watched your tutorial twice and counted up stitches and rows to make sure I haven't missed anything. It s like I need to make my last blue yarn row a double crochet round not single crochet to bring the work up slightly bigger.
Hi Janey, not all yarn is created equal. I noticed that the green red heart super saver that I was using was much smaller than the other colours and consistently so (I purchase that colour a lot). It's ok, the squares are all going to vary a little in size because of yarn size, tension, etc. As long as your stitch count is correct, the sizing won't matter much once we start assembling. You can always give it a light steam blocking too if you want to size it up a little :)
O I didn't realise that. I will steam block it then. Thank you so much for your reply. As you say the White edging will line up perfectly then. Looking forward to April. My grandson and I love to guess what it will be.
Hello Jayda,
I enjoyed making the March square and now I'm excited again waiting on the April square also will you clarify what the border will be. Thanks
Hi Deborah :) I'm so glad to know you're enjoying this blanket along with me! Each square will have the same border colour and pattern allowing for easier assembly!
Jayda, should we sew the panels together now or wait until the end of the year? I guess I am asking if you have a special border for the entire blanket to show us :)
Hi Kathleen, we'll most definitely be going through assembly and borders for this blanket! The layout is in the beginning of each of the tutorials (the 3x4 layout) if you want to get started sewing the squares together, you most certainly can!
I did six rows in light green and 5.00mm crochet hook I am using blue and pink and green on around the light green if that’s ok
Hi!! I love your work!! Amazing, love it!!!
Can you do a tutorial for a mermaid outfit for baby?.
Thx.
Hi Crisel, thank you for the suggestion :)
Hi Jayda! I have looked everywhere for a yarn needle like you use. Where can I find this. I've gone to Hobby Lobby, looked on Amazon with no luck. Can you help me. Thanks in advance.
Hi Doretta, that is a wool needle and you can pick them up on Amazon (on our SHOP page of our website is a helpful Amazon search bar, if you type in Wool Needle you'll find a link to one). Or you can check out H.A. Kidd's website and order a set from them, they have them under their "unique" brand name :) I picked up mine in the craft section of a department store a few years ago!
Found them on Amazon! Woo Hoo! Thanks again Jayda
😄😄😄😄😍😍😘
Are you make two blanket with the 12 squares.
Michelle Thompson --Its going to be one blanket. 3 x 4 squares :)
Okay. I just noticed in all three videos for the calendar blanket that Jayda already has a square worked up so I was wondering for the square that's worked up. And the one in the video that she's working on was gonna be two separate blankets.
Hi Michelle! Each month gets 1 square and all 12 will be worked into a single blanket...having said that, you're RIGHT! I always have 1 square made to show as we go and I make one in the vidoeo sooooooooooo, I will be making 2 identical blankets :)
need to make a dalek thing from dr. who
Really curious as to why in the corner there is only 1 DC after chain 1 space. Every other granny square corner is equal on both sides of the chain stitches.
It's to get the shape of the hat.
How many double crochet each side of light blue after green square?
You should have 72 dc stitches at the end of your first blue row (18 dc sts per side)
Can you do a tutorial on mile a minute afghans? Does it have other names? My grandmother use to make them I I would love to learn how.
Hi Jakkie, thank you for the suggestion! I think there are several versions of mile-a-minute afghans, and they're a pleasure to make :)
for all the squares how many balls of yarn is used for the whole lot
Hi Shandie, since we're all using our own choice of colours and yarns (and our own stitch tensions vary), I can't tell you how much per colour, but as this is a blanket project, we will be using approximately 1200 grams of yarn in total (and a lot of that will be the colour you chose for your border).
Hi Jayda, Is there a way to stitch and outline around the black part of the brim? My stitches look a bit tight and are pulling down the green stitches underneath and I've already cut and sealed the ends. TIA xo
Hi Cynthia, if you feel it's really pulling or there's a lot of green showing, you could try adding some surface chain stitching around the black brim. This will show through to the other side of your square, but at least it will be neat! You could also try lightly steam blocking that area to see if things loosen up a little and that might help too :)
Jayda, could you please demonstrate at some point before we finish? How do I post update pictures? TIA xo
HI I like this one too. I am going to make a calendar blanket however from Janurary to March doesnt show up subtitles. Could you add it under edit video if you dont mind, please? I see that subtitles show up from April to Dec. perfectly. Thank you!
Hi Monika, you should find the January to March links in the description box down below, be sure to scroll all the way down :) Thank you for watching!
@@JaydaInStitches. Subtitles is another word as closed caption. You know when you say something and word appears on the video. Closed caption is short word as "CC" next to the setting on the bottom right corner of your viceo. It is not on Jan to March. But I see CC on from April to Dec. Hope you understand what I mean. Thanks :)
which type of yarn are u using?
Jayda , I was just wondering , can you do a stuffed crocheted bunny rabbit ( toy ) for Easter? I would like to make one for my granddaughter Charlotte she will be one on March 23

Hi Jayda could you do a tutorial for steve from minecraft?
Hi Regina, we have a pattern for Steve for sale in our Etsy shop :) If you wanted to visit our shop and check it out, you can do so here: www.etsy.com/ca/shop/JaydaInStitches Thank you for watching!
OK thank you Jayda.
Hi jayda I need you to reply back to me my march square is bigger then the rest how can I get over this I have followed correctly with the correct hook ect..... Any tips would be great I won't be able to join them now xxx
Hi Natasha, if the stitch count is the same along each side then you can still join them and once you block the blanket the other squares will size up a bit, so don't worry :) If the sides of your squares have more stitches than the other squares, then that's why it's larger and you'll want to take out a couple of rows and redo them to get the stitch count to match :) I hope that helps!
Thankyou for replying to me I'm very grateful Do you mean the count of stitches on the boarder or the stitch out of the green square ? Xxx
could you list the the names of the yarn colors? And brand, if possible?
Hi Morgan, this was a combination of red heart and bernat acrylic, worsted weight. I used light blue, spring green, red, bright orange, bright yellow and deep purple - the white and black are standard :)
Jayda InStitches Thanks!
