      I have a question. I love this, it's so beautiful! Is it actually meant to be used, though? I wonder how warm it would be? If this is a stupid question, I'm sorry! I am one of those heathens that buys beautiful hand towels and uses them, too, LoL!

      I really love texture and I do love this. I have a question.. when starting with a new color and you make a chain 3, is that considered a double crochet and if so can you make it a standing double crochet instead of the chain 3? I also thought maybe an ombre yarn for this pattern would work.. let me know if that would be ok or not. Thank you for a beautiful tutorial ❤️

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  2 года назад +2

      @@donyaw.1453 yes absolutely! The chain 3 counts as a double crochet so you can easily replace that with a standing double 😀

    I learned how to make regular granny squares specifically so that I could make these and make blankets for myself, mom, and mother in law!!! 😅 I won’t be done for a long time but this tutorial is so great!!! Very easy to follow and you show everything super clearly so I know exactly where to go. I’m very much still a beginner but i’ve finished about 3 stuffed things before trying granny squares lol

    My knitting or crochet is very loose,so I'm using lower size hooks or knitting needles as yarn requires all the time. This pattern is 'loose' itself,so I had to add an extra row of slip stitches on your DC bonus row to frame it and 2sl st/1ch/2sl st in the corners. It looks perfect now. Maybe for someone it will be helpful,who just starts crochet journey .Will be joining squares in zig zag stitching. Love this method 😁

    You are my absolute favorite RUclips channel to watch for crochet tutorials. You are such a great teacher and this is such a beautiful pattern. When I attempt this pattern, I think I will use a beautiful variegatd yarn, using the continuous granny method, (because there are fewer tails to hide and I hate the joining process) and frame it with a contrasting solid. I think this would also be so beautiful done in cotton thread and made into a table cloth. Might give that a try, too. ❤

    I absolutely love this pattern for a granny square. It's definitely doable for a beginner... i'm 1 5ftx4ft afghan and 2 3.5ftx2.5ft into my hopefully long road of crocheting... the true difficulty is how fast you can pick up doing the magic ring. I got lucky... after two attempts and several curse words later, I got the hang on making them on the third try. These squares are wonderful when done, and they build up incredibly fast.

      Definitely! Once you get the hang of it, it works up so quickly.😀 So many people find the magic ring tricky, so you aren't alone there.

    Beautiful!! Are you using size 3 for thickness? About how much yarn did you use and what were the dimensions of the final project?

    Saw a blanket of these squares on a fb page, thought I'd look on RUclips for the pattern.
    You can imagine how delighted I am that the first suggestion is Hooked by Robin. I know it's going to be perfect❤

    Thanks Robin, another project that I have to do. No, it isn't a want, it is required. Love this pattern. Going to finish my current project and do this.
