    The new owner doesn't even seem like a "car guy". He didn't understand two of your questions. I get the feeling the original owner decided to sell to retire and some rich guy wanted to pick up a new hobby, That's just my opinion.

      Well to be honest especially nowadays it's the rich people who maybe aren't total gear heads who keep these iconic cars alive - for instance the G Wagon is an iconic car that is really only around today because of those rich enough to afford such an expensive car, even if they don't fully understand or appreciate the car.

      Thats actually fine if he has good skills managing and running a business. He has the experts working in the shop.

    A little correction:Bugatti started his factory in 1909 in Molsheim. So far so good. But Molsheim was since 1871 part of Germany so he started his business as a German company. Not until 10 years later in 1919 Molsheim became french as so became his company.

    Awesome interview in an amazing shop. More like this please! If it weren't for the ultra wealthy, these cars would just not exist. They are the only ones that can afford to keep these cars alive. Spending millions on a car & then putting several hundred or even a few million into restoration is something only the 1 Percenters can do. And I would bet most of them really do take pride in ownership & want to keep the cars alive & well. I for one am thankful that my 3 & 5 year old grand children will get to enjoy seeing these amazing cars someday.

    I love the video. I pretty much love all of these little snippets of automobilia that show up herein. I'm only mentioning this (well, there IS, also, the fact that that this sort of thing really sticks in my craw) so that whoever it might be, if in fact there is such a person, or robot, or entity, or computer program... whatever; apostrophes are for possession or contraction. Period. No mas pantalones. They are not for plurality. This is okay: That Bugatti's alloy rims are original equipment, not a modern add-on.
    This is most certainly NOT OKAY(!!!): pre-war Bugatti's are....I liken that with "My collection of vintage Jaguar's keeps growing every week." Arrrghhhh!

    In fairness, Bugatti's claim to fame is being revolutionary. And we're talking about far more than the Veyron and the Chiron and their raw insanity.

    Almost all Bugattis are pre war...
    ...and what's a Bugatti's are?

      Most Bugattis were built after WW1 but pre WW2 !

      @@knut-hinrichqwalter2463 from what I can tell , underneath, the suspension ( leaf springs) and chassis layouts remained similar whether that be race models or road touring / luxury cars. The cable brakes remained on most although some were retrofitted with hydraulic brakes ..I think the last ones, the type 101 was 1951 . Mercedes & Alfa were more advanced in this respect.

    It's too bad they don't work on the fakes, they could improve the breed. It'd help amortize their research costs.

    • @Spearfisher1970

      Martin Espinoza I agree with them - a company of this caliber should not be working on the fakes.

      Nothing wrong with the remakes, they should be the cars raced and these should be brought out to show.

    • @hyperlogos
      @hyperlogos 9 лет назад

      Jeff K I'm not against racing the originals, although I sure wouldn't. But I am against being against the copies. If people lie and say they're originals, that's lame, but there's nothing wrong with an honest copy. There's so few of these cars left, we should celebrate the copies
