36:30 from my years of experience hunting pirate ships as a hegemony patrol officer, I agree with your assessment of destroyer-level durability; it's shields are tiny, woefully inefficient and its armor is pretty much nonexistant, with unimpressive hull integrity given its size. Engaging against them, destroyers such as the Enforcer can close in, rapidly overwhelm its shields with ballistic weapons, then detonate the hull using annihilator rockets or reaper torpedoes, if I am piloting them personally. The large ballistic mounts in the front become a liability, considering their positioning effectively precludes the medium ones from firing if the captain attempts to engage the enemy ships frontally, and with only 2 small ballistic mounts as well, the front is especially vulnerable to aforementioned missile or torpedo salvos. While the large missile mounts would be a formidable threat, the engagement time is often too small for squall or locust missiles to cause enough damage before the Atlas is destroyed. In my personal assessment as a fleet officer, this refitted hull would be best suited for the role of long-range fire support, keeping it far away from any engagements and using its large weapon mounts exclusively for extreme range weapons such as squalls, hypervelocity drivers and Gauss cannons to pressure enemy shields. Naturally (and thankfully), the pirates of the persean sector don't have access to these sophisticated ballistics, resulting in the aforementioned poor performance. As an independent operator, I'm sure you'll be able to outfit it appropriately. Fly safe.
Enforcers are great as a line ship. If you hold your lines with a bunch of ships, enforcers help keep enemies at bay, while your frigates chase around enemy stragglers. When you have a bunch of cruisers though enforcers can be an escort ship otherwise they lose their usefulness.
I really like the contact system I tend to make a place with at least 2 high priority contacts where i also store all my extra ships and arms. Idk if youll go into it but the nanoforge production or ships is something i always do it i have the cash. Its just buying relations and better contracts.
Thanks for introducing me to the Fury, it's a very fun ship to pilot. Id usually just command but now I'm starting to pilot more actively, which, not gonna lie in making a lot of supposedly outmatched fights actually doable.
I love the Atlas mk II, put some HVDs and some Hephaestus ACs and those thing becomesuper cheap DAKKA, plus the AI is really good at constantly spamming its system so 2 or 3 of these will just saturate the whole screen with balistic death
1:46:30 Taking stuff with alt is enabled by default as of 097a-RC8, twas also mentioned in the patch notes! It's so refreshing when devs listen to the commnity.
41:10 I would argue that finding the jump spot would have been better there, as TJ'ing there positioned you further away from the next starsystem where you had to find fuel, resulting in making it slightly more difficult to get home. Just from looking at the fuel spending estimater, it looked like your jump resulted in a loss ofabout 25 fuel as opposed to had you jumped from the top left jumping point.
1:49:01 I have a save just like that at work of all places - they cut the internet recently so i had to resort to Starsector to kill time. Now i am racking my brain as to how to rescue that save and bring it home. I mean, it has every single rare item - some even got duplicates - and i haven't even started mass surveying the planets, just hit a few systems while doing bounties.
Watching your videos and realizing I think my biggest problem is I just go for *thematics* instead of like, making good fleets. I never make a *good* fleet I make a fleet that has like 10 LP Lashers because I think they're neat
'Why would you do that?! Someone should court marshal that guy!' --perhaps he was doing it for 'content for ya viewers? LOL but I like your still-controlled voice of annoyance; ... and Id totally be that goober who charges in to zap-pap like a good boi and not realize the boss is on-site and about to drop the hammer with me in the splash zone
1:03:20 Your impression of this character sounds a bit like 'The Architect' from the Matrix (at least to me). Kind of funny since the portrait does vaguely resemble him.
41:16 I would say that depends on your composition, time it takes for alternative, possible dangers, and if the supply difference matters to you at that time. Edit: 1:43:56 It makes me very sad to see that Omens still do this.
1:54:37 How about them asking for a package or whatever before you've even acquired it? That has happened to me more than once under different circumstances, e.g. We want exclusive rights to that data. Uhm, I already transmitted it to Galatia. And I swear some have demanded data, and I'm like "What data?" I truly have no clue what they want.
I like how you blamed your officer for getting its self killed while you were the one who sent the reaper torpedo into the middle of all your omens who were swarming the target. lucky only 1 was killed there. You sent a reaper for like 10-20% remaining hull.
My I suggest premiering your next part? You can anylize if it helps with the algoryth or not, but I almost missed this upload because i had too many videos on my subscriptions list
I don't think I meant to say that, I was trying to say that it's good on the paragon because you can use fortress shields to safely dissipate any soft flux build-up so the bonus is better on the paragon than on most other ships.
I didnt know you can not longer bomb planets cause now they have plot armor. That fucking sucks. I guess i was playing modded starsector for too long to notice that was a thing now.
About that part where you said atlass mk2 is the only ship with large ballistics and accelerated ammo feeder, I don't know if it's vanilla (its probably from ship & weapon pack) but there is a Caliber class destroyer that also fits that description (It also has two ships systems instead of a shield, like invictus)
"Lets just buy a bunch if them" *Tip:* Dont, in the start it isnt as much as a problem, but later it can be, as all crew you have is on your payroll, so any you have extra are just extra costs
What do you mean, making friends is hard? You simply murder their enemies and/or shower them in AI cores... To safely dispose of, of course. The major powers really like when you show responsibility by relinquishing AI cores to be recycled into no parking signs.

Praise Ludd for we have been blessed with another video already!
At the moment it's more Praise Mammon, what with sucking up to Tri-Tachyon

2AM run? jesus man. But I am guessing it must be a quiet and chill experience during those hours.
I went to the gym once at 2am, it was awesome being there alone

I think the DIKtak commision questline can give you redacted weapons as a reward, either that or money and a Executor with special modifications.

I'm new to Starsector and I am learning the game with this Serie. Thanks!
Loving it so far. Please do continue on this =)
Exploration icons are honestly so useful that I just keep them on all the time.

The man, the myth, the legend. He's finally back.
