I've been twice in Milovice for Let it Roll festival, and I have spent two days after the festival in Prague both times. Every time I go I fell in love more with the city. It's amazing, and I love it. Greetings from Cluj-Napoca, Romania!
You can actually use google maps offline also. However you need internet when you first look up the address. But who can’t get internet at a cafe? User google maps to walk all over Hanoi while offline. Even while offline, your phone still pings off cell towers giving you your location.
Good tip, however, we find Google maps not very detailed. If you compare how many details you can find on maps.me vs Google, I'd always go for maps.me :) Google gives you only the very basics...
Even better app for maps in Czech Republic is Mapy.cz from Seznam.cz company. They also provide offline maps and ,as a czech company, they have better maps, specialy if you are outside of Prague or if you enjoy hiking.
Yes, there are great for the Czech Republic. However, we were trying to give advice for something people can use all around the world and Maps.me is just that :-)
Hi, I would like to know during the Easter Monday, will the main attraction site will be closed? like Prague castle, Astronomical Tower, Clamentinum etc?
Hey! Usually not...Prague Castle shouldn't be for sure, Astronomical Tower is scheduled for repairs next year but when they start - that's a question...Klementinum - I'm not sure. Check their website :)
The tipping "tip" at 2:40??? "It's OK to round up from 345 to 360 (..=15 Kc) but 10% would be more like 35 Kc?? Thus, if service is great, with tip should equal to 380 Kc??
Good question! Well, if it's a common everyday lunch, Mo-Fri when restaurant have a lunch menu, we sometimes give even less than 10% (like 345 -> 360). It's different for dinner though. If you're having dinner and you're really happy with the meal and service, 10% tip is the ideal option.
BUT: If you are not satisfied with service, DO NOT TIP ANYTHING. Tipping is way how to rating service and say thank you for your service, is not a duty
Exactly what the previous commenter said. If you feel like the service was bad (or even worse, they're trying to rip you off by charging higher prices than the locals) you don't have to tip. There is no tipping obligation for bad service!!! Tipping is an appreciation of adequate or good service and you can change the amount of your tip based on how good the service was.
That escalated pretty quickly :-D well, first of all, as a keen nonsmoker I should point out it's not healthy :-D however, when you asked already, the laws in Czech Republic are kinda...unclear. You are allowed to have small amount for your personal use...yes, people smoke it on public, but I would probably recommend smoking it rather discretely than walking with a joint through the Old Town Square. Municipal police had in last few months had couple of raids against drug dealers and unfortunately sometimes tourists ended up in the raid as well (cause they were smoking weed and unfortunately - they were on the wrong spot at the wrong time). So, that's all I can provide you with :-P
@@ctscan2801 Chapeaux Rouge was where I was getting my weed when I was there, and the cops are more-or-less "cool" about it bc the bar is most likely run by Russian mob.
Cool! I hope you'll enjoy Prague, since July should be one of the nicest months of the year! If you'd be looking for some locals to show you around, let us know! :-) or just check www.exploreprague.cz !
It is the Czech accent, but I think he speaks very well, close to a neutral accent. We have 5 distinctive vocals (AEIOU), so everything in between is a matter of practice for us...
As it may seem as no brainer to many, there are quite a few people who come with EUR and want to pay by EUR, because we're a part of EU...so trust me - this tip is an honest recommendation to many who might be considering sticking to EUR because they are visiting Prague "for 2 days only"...
maps.me saved my ass countless times all over europe, and even in my own country... i highly recommend this shit.. and i never recommend anything usually
