Mariano still confuses me.. the fact that he switched so fast from Isabela to Dolores. I know he’s like.. uh falls in love easily or whatever people say about him. But like I don’t get it still, It doesn’t MAKE SENSE. in my opinion..
Well Dolores told him she loved his poetry which is something he never shared with anyone in the town. She told him that she loves him for him (his poetry, the way he loves his mom) and not the way he looks or seems (he seems like a hunk who would have trouble with being emotional). I guess he just realized that unlike Isabella who didn't really care for him and who didn't really know him Dolores actually loved him and cared for him.
Plus it took months to rebuild the house so he had a lot of time to move on
I don't think he was actually in love with Idabela any more than she was with him. He is very quiet and hesitant around her, which contrasts with his supposedly loud and passionate personality. He wants to get married and have a family, seems to like the madrigal, and he cares about making his mom proud: she would want the perfect daughter-in-law
Yeah I don't think he switched like that though cause like during the dinner when he was supposed to propose to Isabella he was really hesitant. He kept looking at his mother for help and then when Isabella made the plant to punch him in the nose, and of course he knew that Isabella had power to control all the plants. So I think that, possibly, he came to the realization that it wasn't going to happen? Or that he and Isabella were in silent agreement that they didn't really want this. At least that's how I look at it.. ?
I agree 100%. His sadness clearly shows he was in love with Isabella. He didn’t deserve what he got, including a broken nose (not that it was Isabella’s fault). I just didn’t like how they tossed Dolores at him like a 2nd place trophy, and suddenly he’s in love and wants to get married at lightning speed. Would have been much better if there was just a little spark, and they walk off to get to know one another.
