- I do not know what the secret is, but I have never in my life liked secondary characters so much, whose screen time is five minutes (and in this video literally all the scenes with Camilo😂). In general, Camilo has conquered my heart so much that he is now the avatar of this channel. And the Movie "Encanto" is incredibly beautiful, touching and somehow native. I like that there are no villains to fight in the story. In fact, this is a very intimate story telling about one family. I love this movie incredibly! (And of course Camilo)🦫

can we talk about how even tho he's the third youngest of the family hes still incredibly mature and caring? he shapeshifted into a babys mom so she could get sleep. when everyone was freaking out cause they saw brunos vision for the first time he was the one to calm his mom down, he even made tea for her in the midst of all that chaos. was running after the candle with isabella and mirabel and when the house collapsed he asked what his little brother was gonna do? he was more worried about antonio than himself. Hes a jokester and funny guy but i really hope his character gets explored more i feel like there is so much more to him
I noticed that when Mirabel was running to save the candle Camilo was the first one to run after her to try and SAVE HER. Camilo & Mirabel are both 15, Camilo presumably only being a month or so older, so they grew up together and it would make sense for him to be close to Mirabel because of that! It’s a sweet moment and shows that, unlike most of their family cause let’s be honest Alma let the power go to her head and became toxic, Camilo cares about Mirabel.
ARE WE NOT GONNA TALK HOW CAMILO ALWAYS SHIFTS INTO THE RIGHT SIZE OF A PERSON BUT NOT TO FELIX
was to make clear to viewers who actual father is and to prevent Camilo from being seen as dangerous; he's being funny and a little bold, but actual identical shapeshifting is always for a purpose for him and often brief

The creators of Encanto are said that although not shown in the film Camilo suffers from pressure and has insecurities, although he hides it under his cheerful attitude. Although he appreciates her gift, it makes him question his sense of self, and constantly morphing for others tires him.
Foreshadowing an identity crisis, if there's ever gonna be a sequel or a series then.

You can just search the scene after the candle goes out in Mirabels arms, after her mom leaves and she's just zoned out, really upset, but listen carefully with the volume UP, cause it's super quiet.

I really like the Madrigal cousins.
Isabella had problems because she was stuck with perfect and had to go through a future marriage she didn't want.
Luisa had problems because she couldn't take the pressure of being needed and having too much weight to carry anymore.
Mirabel had problems because she was the only one without a gift and felt like she was worthless.
Dolores had problems because the man of her dreams was supposed to marry her cousin.
Antonio had problems because he thought he might not be worthy enough of getting a gift.
And Camilo. . . was just Camilo.

Camilo is supposed to represent teens who have trouble finding out who they are and honestly he's my comfort character for that. Plus I think he definitely had the worst identity crise the night he got his gift

Camilo was only a second or two behind Mirabel when running for the candle. He was watching as she ran and followed. Split second to decide and he ran to help his cousin. His gift gives him the power to whoever is needed in a situation. But as himself, he cares for his family and strives to protect them. There is some real nobility in the grandkids.
Love this guy, he somehow went from "jerk cousin" early concept to sweet, lovable boy who loves to entertain and bring smiles all around. What a funky lil gremlin

I just love how after the house collapses, he's the only one having sensible - if extremely calm - reactions.
He's the only one pointing out "Hey, we DON'T HAVE A HOUSE, WE'RE HOMELESS". When Bruno shows up, his reaction is basically "So....long lost uncle we refuse to even mention the name of has just shown up out of the blue, and we're all cool now? Really?". And when Dolores admits she KNEW Bruno never left, his face is ""Wait, what? Seriously!?!" - funny how no one else seems to mind that Dolores was keeping that a secret
