Obviously Carrie is phenomenal and this is probably the best version ever of this song, but let's talk about the stage setup. It's clear she was portraying the star the Wise Men followed to Jesus and each time she hit a major chorus, another part of the stage lit up to reveal a holy and solemn night - the night our Savior was born. It was captivating and chilling.

That is a masterclass in singing. She projects so clearly from that far from the mic, hits the pitch perfectly, then proceeds to hold said pitch for multiple measures...all while making it look effortless. When your vocals alone can create emotion, you’ve got a gift. Anyone that says she’s not one of the greatest voices in a generation/lifetime doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Truly amazing.

If it was mixed after the fact to enhance audio quality and to achieve the desired balance of sound between her vocals and the instruments, it's still live. No different from concerts that happen live but just aren't broadcast on television in real time, so everything is remastered and edited for when they do air it on TV. Of course they would do that if they have the chance. Ever notice how awful the sound often is on live broadcasts?

No one understands how the man known as jesus changed our ways of life. How he changed people everywhere around him. He is a savior, if you dont believe he was that then you dont understand history, and how he made us as beings change. He was not the only savior. He was one of the blessed. Blessed be his name. Never to be forgotten. Never forget those whose save you. When you and all around you see you are wrong and see the one person making the only sense. You praise his name for being able to change us all. He tried to make us better. He succeeded in seeing a better in us. Thats not to get a full head, we were apes enslaving everyone and using power to do it. He saw that, and saw that he was a good person. He knew we could all be good people, because he was a human just like the ones being evil. People saw that. He saved people. Never forget.
