The US was going to use a low yield (few hundred kt) nuclear bunker buster in Afganistan 2001, but when the media found out about it, the project was cancelled. It was going to be either a B61-11 EPW (earth penetrating weapon) or a newer RNEP (robust nuclear earth penetrator) weapon. The main design problem with nuclear bunker busters is that the nuclear component can't handle the stress of penetrating more than 10 meters of reinforced concrete. I'm sure they have gotten around that problem during the past 20 years.

They aren't that accurate to hit the same exact hole. The weapon depends on the pressure build up when detonated within a closed space and that isn't going to happen if there is a huge crater at the impact site.

The GBU 57 for example, can penetrate 200' of hardened concrete. Weighing in at 30,000 lbs., this bunker buster has a warhead weighing 5,740 lbs. The warhead will go off at the depth it's set to penetrate previously to detonation. It's affectionately referred to as the MOP, or Massive Ordnance Penetrator. These are the likely weapons used on the Houthis, as well as the gift to Nasrallah. It's well to note that one doesn't necessarily need to fully destroy the bunker it's attacking, rather, it can completely remove the air from the space of said bunker, as in the case of the killing of Nasrallah in Lebanon. It was determined that while in his little space where he physically survived, he actually asphyxiated as the air was removed from the space by the explosions that cut off air flow to the said bunker. This reasoning can be applied to the destruction of Iran's deeply buried nuclear facilities, some of which are said to be located under a mountain. One need only destroy the entrances to the said bunkers, as the result would be the turning of these bunkers into actual tombs for anyone working there, as well as a method of containing radiation released locally from the destruction of their centrifuges, and other equipment that's sole purpose is to enrich the Uranium to bomb making percentages. I still think that Israel will in effect, disregard Biden's directives that Israel should not attack Iran's nuclear plants and plans to develop a bomb. Turning their facilities into tombs will do quite nicely, don't you think? For Israel not to destroy Iran's capability to make a nuclear bomb would go completely against their mission to survive, given that Iran has stated quite openly on many an occasion that its mission is to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth, and every Jew with it.

It's almost cute how you’ve bought into the hype. Guess what-hypersonic missiles aren't some magic bullet that bypasses every defense system. And those bunkers? 🕉 Satyameva Jayate: Truth and Honesty and Reality of possibilities need to be experimented as materials that are available nowadays probably will be lighter - However, Their strengths will be greater - Composite materials that use carbon fibre in casings will probably hold the ‘Tonnage’ weight of the explosive components… Woking on this design will need a penetrating ‘frontend’ of dense-solid that has been reinforced like they do in ‘Stressed-concrete’ blocks… I envisage the outer casings of carbon fibre to be like ‘onion-layers’ that would ‘peel’ off as the projectile penetrating deeper and deeper… The use of Rockets to assist in this drilling-down have to create a ‘helical-twist’ that sort of screws-n-twist at a relatively high-speed (independent of the own-ward slicing that the frontend or ‘the needle-point’ of the ‘tip’)… Look, My mind-experiment is really using the basic design of a ‘Golf-pin’ which when it gets pressed into the ground has a specific shade that helps ‘slide’ in without much effort… Hence, when i say there has to be a ‘spiralling action’ as well - what I mean is one sees this in a ‘Rifle’ that increases the accuracy because the twist gives the spinning ‘bullet’ a well planned path to follow… Hence, my design takes several of the well known effects associated with principle os projectile and their travel through ‘materials’… There is air, there is solid rock-soil-Concrete (reinforced with metal rebars etc)… Hence, as the suggest design has the least resistant head made from very dense ‘heavy metal like spend Uranium’ that has a very sender ‘pin-like’ shape - I add composite ‘panels’ in onion-layers that will ‘peel’ off as the ‘needle’ is penetrating as well the friction will be reduced as the carbon composite panels will be where the ‘spinning’ will get it ‘lubricated-space’… The very dark solid barrel of a Gun-from-the-tank will be forged in layers with circular cylinders that have been ‘telescoped’ into perhaps 4 tubes - The ‘stressed’ cables will really be ‘wrapped’ around each forged barrel… finally , the single tube of metal with its 4 tubes will be stood up or be held vertically… This is when The molten high tensile steel will be poured into the hole… Thus, the long heaven mid section will retain the ‘straightness’ (notice when one hammers a long six inch nail into timber the back-end of the nail often bends at the mid-point and the nail really ends up in the wood as a bent nail - This is what the design I have suggested will avoid when it hits the different ‘material’ underground)… Hell, I think the rockets in the tail end will be spinning this damn penetrating so fast there will be very little time before the hole is covered over by the debris… Therefore, The casing panels that have been peeled off will likely to create a ‘selieve’ through which the metal will simply slide… I have not worked out how the wide ‘Acorn-type’ shape at the rear will behave under The soil… I need to look at the experiments that study the projectile that hit at an impact of 90 degrees verticals as well at 60 degrees etc… before, I am satisfied about the behaviour of the backend of the penetrating needle - My mind is made up… This design will give a very deep reach for the explosive component to do the maximum destruction… What do you think?… As for the Mathematical equations - and that sort of proofs - I have to sit down and work the various factors that are involved… Next comes the considerations of delivering the weapon… I think I will use that Transport Cargo plane - Place this heavy beast on a sledge-slide - open the rear cargo door - give it a push and a small parachute to pull it out - next with assistance from another bigger parachute make it vertically hanging i.e. to make it very vertical over the target - detach the parachute - and see this baby plunge into the targeted bastrads who are hiding in the deep bunker - They will have no chance to escape… BAMB … Satyameva Jayate
