When you decide to style your hair the next day after deep conditioning do you apply an oil to seal in the moisture then put it in chunky twists or you don’t add any product ?because I tried to style the next day but my hair was super dry 😫💔

    1. Leave your hair alone; this doesn’t mean neglect it
    2. Don’t wear super tight styles
    3. Wear light extensions
    4. Stretch your hair - helps with detangling
    5.Wear chunky twists
    6. Wash your hair / Break it into 2 days
    7. Be patient + be consistent

*3 Just don't wear extensions at all
*5 Wear 2 strand twist, doesn't matter if they're chunky or mini twist
*6 Wash your hair. There's no reason to break it up into two days.

@@nAme-gx6uh My hair was so damaged from a kiddie perm. Some of the breakage was down to less than an inch. I cut it all off, I kept it moist all the time using the green house method even under wigs hat and bandanas. I used just the clear basic plastic caps, leave in conditioner, and water. I only washed it monthly (Mielle Organics Cowash), I would rinse with water while in the shower, but didn't wash it with shampoo. I used Jamaican peppermint oil on my scalp. My hair was always moist. I didn't use combs or brushes, I separated with my fingers, and just put loose twist in, so there was no pulling on my hair and I never trimmed it. My hair grew so fast. One day I decided to straighten it, it was down my back, I couldn't believe it, and yes I have course hair like the girl in the video and never had long hair before. It's really all about no pulling on the hair, no heat, and keeping it moist. All of this achieves growth and prevents breakage. Our hair grows monthly anyway, it's a matter of retention. Oh, and when I wear wigs, I don't glue or use the little combs, I use hairpins to secure them, don't put any tension on your hair.

Great video ! When you said something like “even if you’re tired, and it’s late, just twist/braid your hair before your sleep, it’ll be easier for the next day” I actually got up, took of my bonnet and braided my hair. I’m motivated to go back to my hair routine. It’s so easy to be lazy. You’re so right with washing your hair at least every two weeks. I’ve noticed tremendous growth (retention) when I started doing that and then twisting to last about 10 days. Subscribed ❤️

Woww!! Indeed I've learnt a lot. Thanks. The tip about "leave your hair alone" and avoiding tight braids is really true. I usually keep my hair in twists and I might get a braid with extensions just 2 / 3 times in a year. And my hair has practically grown in length and health than my fellow friends I started keeping my hair with. And I've learnt more from you!🥳

my hair is growing so fast that all the stylist at the salon is shocked and say it is, I get scalp treatment once a month and medium twist or braids every 1 and half or 2 weeks. I use rosemary, peppermint oil, sulfur 8 grease or a peppermint hair food grease, and design essential products like the leave in conditioner (recommend by a license stylist manager). Once a month I wash my hair with my twist still in and then redo it. Sometime I use a homemade greentea conditioner on my wash day. My hair grows fast, I can't speak for anyone else. eating low protein seems to slow my hair growth down.

    • @ladybird491

@Coco why do you use heat on your hair or have your head by fire? Sulfur was in water that our ancestors got in. You apply it only to your scalp and you shouldn't be putting heat and hot stuff in your head. Your head is not catching on fire from sunshine on sulfur. You don't use alot of sulfur grease.

    • @ladybird491

I did a 3 months protective style in from Feb to May and when I took it out everyone was amazed.
Funny thing was, same people who always laughed at my tiny short hair were first to notice the growth.
Although, I didn't leave my hair uncared for all through this period.
Also, I've now decided to always add light extensions to my ends cuz I feel like I've trimmed out all the growth that I got from my 3 months protective style since I got obsessed with trimming my own ends🥺

Next time, you could rinse and oil your hair to moisturise it before taking it out (wait for it to dry a bit of course as I don't recommend taking out wet hair), but it's healthier to do the takedown on moisturised hair as the takedown process is such a rough process especially if done on dry hair.

Well, you’re right to some extent. Long hair comes from length retention but a faster hair growth rate paired with proper hair retention habits will get you to your goals quicker and that growth rate can be influenced. Things like: diet, scalp stimulation and overall scalp health (ie. Dandruff, fungal infections) can affect the rate of growth.
But on average every person has her own average growth rate particular to themselves, predetermined by genetics but the influence of these other factors could slightly increase or decrease it at certain varying periods. I hope I just made sense because for some reason I can’t put it out like it’s in my head 😂

    You mentioned two important points:
    1) No product gives you miraculous growth.
    2) Don't compare your growth to others.
    I appreciate this.
One thing I didn't like was the thumbnail which felt a bit like click bait. I know views matter to content creators but writing 12 weeks growth on the thumbnail didn't sit well with me.
I still appreciate your content but wanted to mention this.

It feels like I’ve had a twa forever now. It’s been 4 months and my hair is still very short and is breaking off like crazy. The medication I’m taking I think is partly to blame. But I also had bleached hair and then after a few months I colored it black. So I guess I am the actually to blame. At this point I don’t know if to bald it off again or just leave it and trim little by little until all the damaged colored hair is out. I know diet has a lot to do with it. I’m trying to increase my water intake as well as eating healthy well balanced meals.

Please what can I use for dandruff on my hair?

    • @afrolique
      @afrolique  2 года назад +1

It depends on the cause of the dandruff but I will say constantly wash your hair every week for a month by focusing on your scalp, to not use too much products on your hair, if you oil your scalp often then maybe you should slow down on that, make sure your scalp is properly dried (don’t wear bonnet over wet hair)

    • @afrolique

After doing this for a month or two and you don’t see improvement then you can use products targeted for dandruff and most importantly do not share your hair tools
