Ever since 2016, I’ve been watching these videos to remind myself that no year is perfect. There are a lot of set backs and hard times. But there are a lot more great moments and inspiring stories that motivates us to keep going. I know we’re only two years into this decade and yeah I’m terrified of what’s to come in the next seven years. But all I hope for is more changes for the better and that there will be more people out there that are willing to make a difference
but hey we made it, although you think it wasn't a perfect year.

i love these “year in search” videos, especially this one. i’ve been wanting to change myself and change the way i view the world this entire year. this video reminds me of the leaps i took last year and all of the leaps i’ll take this next year. we’re all just trying to find our best selves, and none of us are alone in that way. i loved the last words, “to everyone who sees not what the world is but what it can be. search on”. this was really a beautiful video, thank you

I love showing these to my students every year. We start with the first and continue until present day. As I teach 7th grade I've now just about hit where the "Zeitgeists" began when these kids were being born. It's crazy to show them what has happened over their lifetimes. Please bring back the name Zeitgeist. This is about so much more than searching in the searchbar. This is how our society finds meaning. It's more a true zeitgeist than most others.

It is 2023, and I still find healing in this video. 2022 was quite difficult for me, but this video gave me a lot of hope and fulfillment and helped me feel stronger, after all those difficulties end.
I hate to be a party breaker, but it's hard to believe that these were the most searched questions in the year we had the Russia-Ukraine war, protests in Iran, the financial crisis, etc.

I went back to school for a second college degree this year. I had no money, no job, no way to pay back loans, and no promise that what I was doing would pay off. Just the pursuit of a different life/career was the best decision ever. After 11 months of training and looking for work, I was able to start a new career. It’s been the most life affirming experience of my life. Whatever it is that you want to do in life, you can do it. It will take time and patience and dedication but it is possible
2022 was one of the best years after Covid -19 happened. The year flew by and had alot of up's & down's, but 2022 was just a great year.

"I just quit my job" yeah I felt that. I quit four different jobs in 2022, willingly. Idk motivation is hard to find, especially when you have depression. I have been through so much, I'm lost, I'm tired, burnt out. And all I know is at age 27 is that, I don't want to do the things that make me unhappy. Not anymore, I want to do things that will benefit myself positively. Learn more knowledge, learn to be more stable, learn to be a better person, learn to love- love, it's something I really struggle with. My resolution is to push myself. To stop being so anxious or scared of what's to come. To live in the now happily, with courage, prosperity, and love. I hope you all can to. Happy 2023.

But a beautiful, country side game helped me and comforted me. It brought me to places and hopes for an adventure I could see one day. Games have the power to make you believe. So to you, and your cynical mind: You goddamn right it brought us together for a joyful moment in this tumultuous year.

I wrote a parody reminiscing about 2020 quarantine and was thinking about this lyric today and got kind of emotional, "I went down to the music hall, where I heard the music play last fall, but I knew that the music couldn't play." It's so nice to have concerts and large events happening again!

This amazing vid has really resonated with me! After literally nearly dying from a broken heart this year, I felt I had 2 choices.. accept dying alone or get up, fight like hell and choose life. I chose life, and I’ve been my own support system ever since. I’ve been working hard to change into the person that I want to be, so I can finally live the life I’ve always wanted and hopefully make some friends next year too 😊
