I am a user of both. When you use them on a plane, Sony's noise cancellation is better. However, Bose is more comfortable after wearing about an hour. Sony is very uncomfortable. Your ears become sweaty and you can feel the both ears becoming hot. But when it comes to the sound quality, Sony beats Bose. I have used them both. Mostly when I'm on a plane. Bose: comfort Sony: sound quality Noise cancellation level: about the same. But Sony is slightly better. My opinion is different from this video, so I am posting my user experience. P.S. I almost forgot. After 1 year of use, Bose padding looks like it's going to wear out in near future. But still better in comfort.
@@joshuam3903 I haven't heard anything from people around me. I don't think Sony is any worse than Bose headphones. My wife is super sensitive about lights and sounds at night. But she never complained about the sound leakage.
The headphone jack comes in clutch on long flights where you have a personal entertainment monitor on the flight. You can hook up your premium ANC headphones and watch the free movies
@@William_CD Nah. Bass isn't that great on beats. All hype. I have owned a few beats. They either break or will just stop connecting. I'll stick with Sony or Bose or Skullcandy. Much better quality and sound.
I dunno why you keep bullying the speak to chat feature. It's very handy and you don't even need to reach for the headphones. Also, if you press and hold two fingers on the Sony's you can turn on or off that feature. Try that cause you're probably thinking you need to go into the app to turn on or off every single time like I did, until I learned this shortcut.
That's awesome so impressed with these headphones. Any other tips would be amazing!!! P.S. Just got these today... The cabin pressure is perfect, and the fit is surprisingly adjustable... even on my tiny head!!!! I didn't even know tech this advanced existed. Anyone else in the market... Goes without saying these are some the best headphones ever... especially for ANC
Also in the app, we can adjust the sensitivity of Speak to chat, so that if you are watching or listening to funny content it won't instantly be turn on because you laugh.
Excellent video! I was looking for this exact comparison a few days ago but couldn't find it so I'm glad this came across my recommended. You did an incredible job of explaining the differences in the devices! Better than any other video I've seen
I just ordered some qc35 ii! I'm excited! The reviews for the bose are more positive compared to Sony Update: they suck, I returned them back to Amazon. Second update: I bought the Sony xm4 and they are amazing! Will be keeping these. I instantly noticed the difference out the box.
@@carltripole8107 Yeah. The initial excitement and then the final disappointment. But the honesty is appreciated! We're spending big bucks for these things...so they should cater to whatever sounds and fits best to us.
you are right man. after sending back to Amazon the XM4 (horrible experience of heating, headaches and bleeding ears because of basses, even with EQ adjustments) I have bought the QC35 II. They are not the best in nothing (apart for the comfort, in my opinion) but the balanced mixture of features (ANC power, battery life etc.) and a natural (I dare to say flat) sound, makes me love them. In addition they are very portable, compared to the NC700.
i had the xm3s previously and they were extremely uncomfortable, my ears got hot and i couldn’t wear for more than 15 minutes, the bose qc 35 ii are much more comfortable and seem more comfortable
What a great comparison video! I impulse-bought the QC35 headphones yesterday and started beating myself up for not trying anything else. After watching this, I think I’ll go back to try out the NC700s. Thanks for the content!
I've just switched from the Bose QC35 ii to the Sony WH-1000XM4 and have noticed the sound signature is much warmer. There's way more bass than the Bose which makes the whole experience more enjoyable for me. The kind of bass these have is like something you get from a high end subwoofer. Movies sound amazing and music is good. I'd say the Bose were a touch more detailed though.
@@modasij thanks for the reply! Call quality is less of a concern for me, Im looking for more bass than my soundlink II. I did try the Bose 700 yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality! I just don't know which one to pick, my main use is walking outside listening to music. The other ones in my list is the JBL club one that I can get at a very good price. I just want one pair and keep them long term
Great review...and for me, having the ability to sign onto multiple devices is a deal-breaker at this price point for sure....I'm glad the XM4's support this now...one thing that never gets reviewed by anyone is, how far away you can walk from you device before the signal breaks?
I just tried it out with my Bose 700's that time, and I walked about 12-14 meters or so playing music and they didn't disconnect, crackle, or anything. This is with straight line of sight. I went on the other side of a wall (about 15 or 16 meters) and they were still fine. I did this with an android
@@elizadale Talking about Bluetooth, not cable connection. I bought by now the Sony's and they connect to my phone and laptop via Bluetooth simultaneously
I totally agree with quick attention point. Just hold the touchpad on the earcup for a second, then double tap to resume. That would be such a simple and elegant solution.
I got both of them two weeks ago from amazon, to compare them and return the worst. My two bits: 1) Sound: Marginally (very marginal) better sound quality on Sonys. I had to swap between Sony and Bose multiple times to notice the difference. Yes, the equaliser can change the base and all that on Sonys 2) NC: not the best with Sonys, I could still hear cars/people talking and sounds in general. Also, I got the weird feeling that they vacuum my brain somehow and i could feel kind of dizzy. really weird and difficult to explain the feeling. No such a feeling on Bose and NC was working like a charm with Bose. 3) Comfortability: Specifically to my ears, Sonys felt more uncomfortable than the Bose, over long time of listening over runs/walks/workouts 4) Sonys definitely have more features and customisation than Bose. The feature I liked the most, was that when I take them off, they pause automatically. 5) Finally, Call quality is a joke, literally a joke on 2.0.6 on Sonys. Real life calls on roads/windy beach and with background music. I had to drop calls on Sony, because I couldn't be heard. Bose were top notch. I am returning the Sonys
No my friend, maybe you have brain troubles, or problems of hearing because I gave compared the two devices, and if you want better ANC, then go with Bose, but if you want quality sound go with Sony xm4, I prefer Sony. The bass for jazz is like if comes from a sealed box, but if you music has 20 Hz, the bass is like from a ported box.
Got the wh1000xm4s last week. They started making a static noise in the right ear cup when in ANC the longer I wore them. Looked around and found out that it's been a problem since the xm3s and some people have to RMA multiple times to get a pair of headphones without the problem. Even then, they might work for months or a year and then start making the noise. I returned my xm4s (even though I absolutely adored the sound quality and ANC) and a pair of NCH 700s are on their way. Sony knew about the problem for years and they did nothing to fix it. I do not like that.
@@GojiraTFD that sounds more like the issue I had. It was like static/wind, and started off quiet, getting louder. I just gave up and returned them, got the bose nch 700s and never looked back. I tried the solutions for the wind noise issue and it never fixed it, so that's why I gave up. Edit: I believe that if we pay over $350 for headphones, we shouldn't get issues like the ones in the xm4s. I love the bose, and while the bass isn't as punchy as the sonys, the sound is clearer. I love the sound overall, and no issues like the ones in the xm4s. The bose just work. And they work GOOD. ANC is great on them too. If you buy them, I'm sure you'll be more than satisfied.
I spent a few weeks trying out the Sony XM4, Bose QC35ii and some budget options (Anker Soundcore and TaoTronics). The Sony XM4 was really uncomfortable on my head. I was happy to take it off my head at the end of the workday and was getting a slight headache. I also stopped when on my second call, my manager was having problems hearing me through the mic. The QC35ii was much more comfortable, but the audio wasn't as good and they have a weird audio cable (smaller than normal audio cable) that was acting finnicky with my computer. Out of the budget options, the Anker Soundcore was suprisingly close to the QC35ii, but had the worst ANC and looks a little dorky. You're probably better buying an XM3 or QC35ii used or returnable refurbished (you can get a QC35ii refurbished from Bose official site for about $200 and the XM3 refurbished on Amazon for about $220).
I had the same experience with XM4. Super uncomfortable, bad hiss from the ANC and really poor call quality. I am trying NC700 and it's much better for me.
I've think I've watched every review video for these headphones, and gotta say... this is probably the best one. Well done! Def sped the playback up to 1.4x tho, haha. Also wish I could find a good comparison that includes the Beats Studio. Thanks for this review!
Beats are trash compared to this. Beats are only better than 100dollar headphones which makes them overpriced because they dont compete with bose or sony
I know absolutely nothing about headphones, but your level of detail while catering to the newbies like myself, got the subscription from me, top notch quality man!
I love my qc35 and I tried the 700s at a store. I found the 700s more comfortable and the music sounded much better but it might be that for my head the 700s fit better to create a better deal.
Is it only me that thinks the QC35II still are holding up really well in comparison to the XM4/700's? I dont think that either the Bose 700 or XM4 are really that much superior in their ANC performance then the QC35II. I personally dont experience any cabin pressure on the QC35II. They are more comfy then either of the two, cheaper, have buttons (which I prefer) and a well rounded sound signature (more neutral then the base focused Sony XM4 or even the Bose 700's, which are to treble focused). Also they are the cheapest of the bunch and the mics are more usable than those of the XM4. which have a constant "poping" in every sample recording I have heard. Do you guys know, if either the XM4's or 700's EQ setting get applied, when using the headphone in wired mode? I know that the XM3 did not apply its setting to wired mode.
No your not the only one. I've had mine qc 35 II since they came out in 2017 and now in 2020 i was looking for a reason to upgrade. Turns out there's no reason to do that yet
I'm using the QC 35 II for a 2,5 years but I feel like the battery is slowly dying. When I first got them I could easily listen to music for 20 hours and as of now, I can only listen to music for around 6 hours until I have to recharge them fully again. I was thinking of getting a second pair because headphones could become heavier in the future or less user-friendly.
@@CrusardModding Thats strange. I haven't had that issue. Maybe you've just used yours more than I've used mine and it will eventually become a problem with mine as well. I just hope by that time something worth upgrading to is on the market
All tech specs etc aside. If it boils down to comfort and enjoying your music. Nothing surpasses Bose QC 35 II. They are class apart. And simply the comfort they provide and the simplicity in use, without any unnecessary tech mumbo jumbo, they win it for me. They do it simple and they do it as well as any other ones out there.
The touch buttons on the Bose 35 is exactly why I bought them. I just don’t like swiping. Also, for me, there is just something beautiful about the sound stage of Bose products. So refined. Excellent review. Very informative and helpful. Thanks.
Watching this with my Sony 1000xm3's. Dont really see the need for the bose of xm4. I think the XM3 and the QC35 were the pinnacle of noise cancelling. The newer models have such minor improvements.
I just bought a Sony WH-1000XM4 for $130 brand new and sealed from OfferUp. They're wonderful. I'll probably pick up a Bose QC35 II as a backup because I hear they're more comfortable. I didn't realize they came with a 3.5 mm jack. So even the XM4's battery becomes completely dead in a few years, I can still use them as wired headphones just without the ANC, mic, and touch gesture controls. This is why I plan to keep my iPhone SE1 for life. Headphone jack really becomes more important once these headphones die from their battery. Planning to get a $60 iPhone 6S tomorrow in excellent condition but only 80% battery health just for that headphone jack. Wired sound with XM4 turned off doesn't sound bad at all. It's serviceable. Headphone jack adds another option to the user and can prolong the life of these wireless headphones.
I've had both of these recently, ultimately I returned the Bose 700's and kept the Sony XM4's. I think the Sony's are slightly better than the Bose in almost every category EXCEPT call quality/microphone noise cancellation. I'm surprised that this review states the Bose as being more comfortable, because both myself and my partner (and most other reviews I've read) agreed that the new Sony's are more comfortable. This, along with the better audio quality (the Bose sound weak) were enough to tip the scales in favor of the Sony's. All the added extra features of the Sony were just a bonus.
Agreed. Though, the Bose do have slightly better noise cancellation, and, without adjusting the Sony EQ, the Bose have better sounding vocals. Ultimately the Sonys are my favourite, however I can imagine why some people would prefer the Bose.
@@aichan5235 no bubble burst, after using the Sony's daily for a couple of weeks now I would probably agree that the Bose activite noise cancelling is a bit more aggressive, especially in the low frequencies, but the down side of that is the nasty vacuum feeling in your brain! I don't get that at all with the Sony's. Please note I am not biased to either brand, I have a lot of Bose stuff, some of it is exceptional, some of it is garbage. These headphones are virtually the only Sony product I own. My opinions are based purely on my own experience having owned both headsets.
I felt the most cabin pressure with the Bose 700 which I returned because the headband is harder and quickly uncomfortable. i went with the QC35ii but, the ANC isn't as strong
With the Sony WH-1000XM3, I felt the Ambient Mode very metallic and non-natural, specially with voices. Otherwise, with the Bose 700 set to 0 ANC, it feels like I´m not wearing a headphone.
Agree the ambient sound on the Bose is superb, if it wasent for their flat sound signature and terrible software issues they would be world beating, as it is I have stoped using them and now use the Sony’s, in real world there is a massive difference in the ANC over the Bose, these anc tests use reproduced sounds that don’t have the spectral patterns of real noise which is what the ANC Chip on the Sony
I had the QC 35 II's and have the xm4's: the sonys have better audio, better battery, better app/more features, better ANC, and for me better comfort too.
I have both QC35II and XM4. I can tell you that the XM4 sounds much better, more richer sound. The QC35II is slightly more comfortable but not by much. I prefer the XM4s.
@@calista910 mic isnt anything special. Like most headphones, the mics tend to be jank. Tho the sound quality is off the charts. Especially when using Sony's equalizer
I don't ever post comments on the videos I watch, but you did a really good job. You covered more points then any other review that I've read, or watched.
This is a very great comparison, and I agree with virtually everything! One thing I gotta say though, is that imo you give speak-to-chat a little less credit than it deserves, because you’re forgetting an important aspect of it. The beauty of speak-to-chat for me is how you can activate or deactivate them on the fly very easily! If you hold *two* fingers on your touchpad for like 2 seconds (e.g. the index and middle finger, but hold a little space between both fingers because that works better for me), your headphones will activate speak-to-chat and will announce it through the voice assistant. Do it again, and your headphones will deactivate it! This makes speak-to-chat a really nice feature to me personally. I don’t use it incredibly often, but it can be really nice in certain situations! Still a great video though, and I hope you could also address this feature in future videos as well!
If you only really need ANC, something like the Anker Q35 are much cheaper and have good ANC. With music on I can barely hear traffic with them, let alone people talking to me. There are a lost of options cheaper than the QC35, Bose 700 or XM3/4. If you can try headphones in a shop because headphones aren't one size fit all (I find the QC35 the most comfortable of the three, for example).
Don’t go for cheap Chinese headphones who you can yourself order through alibaba and put a sticker on which will screw up you ear. With Bose and Sony you are paying for their proprietary tech .
I had beats. Not a good experience. They disconnect every time I switch a RUclips video on my galaxy note 20. I have just got the Sony xm4. No problems so far.
I used sony 1000xm2 and now using bose qc35ii im more than satisfied they are the most comfortable i ve ever worn and bass and overall experience is fantastic i liked the sonys app bose's app is trash
Sending back the XM4s and sticking with the QC35IIs. Just don't see the justification for the price. The Sonys seem to have slightly better NC but not that noticable. The Sonys also feel cheap to me. The touch controls are just not as functional addy the physical buttons either. Oh and the comfort... Sony isn't at all as comfortable as the QC35IIs...30 hour battery? Cool try wearing them that long.
@@Forwhomthebelltolls24 You get a proper EQ and adaptive ANC for your ear and surrounding which do seem to work well with sony. So that argument is not really meaningful. Using EQ, I can get earphones that came with my 2007 nokia phone to sound better than most expensive headphones bacause while they are bad, they do cover a large enough frequency range.
@@gaeroot EQ is not everything mate. If you apply eq in your signal chain after compression, you are applying it after loosing a lot of frequencies in the incoming chain. I don't know how much you're conversant with audio production to understand it. But if you love the sound, that's what matters the most. Enjoy your cans mate!!
Man i cant decide 🤦🏽♂️so many mixed reviews. Money aint the problem. I just want some badass headphones. I did tried the qc35 at best buy and damn were they confortable
I would recommend the qc35. I myself have the eclipse edition 700s and while I love them, they are heavier on the sides of my head than the qc35. They personally fit better on my head while the 700s are looser.
I own the Bose 700 and the Sony’s headset Both are fantastic headsets. But for Bluetooth in my opinion nothing beats the Bose. The Sony does seem to have more bass but both are good for music and movies.. just my humble opinion as i use both everyday for my job..
@@slkjess1206 I own the qc and the Sony. With Jazz classical or podcasts I prefer the Bose. Rap rock movies the Sony’s are better. Enjoy listening to your Bose at Peet’s coffee(oh hey I do prefer Peet’s, how did he know? )
Thank you so much I actually sat there and watch the entire video and made my decision to name the NC700 suits me best, which is what I will be getting in a couple of weeks for mothers day. I sat in a dash 6 last night for an hour home and the engine noise gave me such a headache until I see the guy infront of me wearing a pair of noise-cancelling headphones instead of me on my airpod. Thank you for such details and comparing to the needs of the users.
Been doing that for a minute. Would be nice if YT would recommend them. Real World Airplane ANC Test - Sony XM5 VS AirPods Max Vs Bose QC45 Vs Sennheiser Momentum 4 ruclips.net/video/lvMPTYVs9_E/видео.html
I have both the new ones. The only thing better with Bose is the microphone and maybe the design. When you're walking the Bose will make a really annoying hinge sound which is just unacceptable...
If you listen to radio/podcasts/audiobooks or anything with a lot of emphasis on human voice go with the bose, I do listen to a lot of audiobooks and i am telling you nothing beats them.
My man really stepping up on the reviews. XM4s are really good, but since they are brand new the prices will be high. But the 3s will be discounted, along with the 700s too. So yeah. We'll see.
@@Sparkball yeah I agree with that. XM3s or 700s are probably my options because I have seen the 700s for much less than the MSRP. But I wanted to check out the XM4s so that I knew what is the best now. The XM3s at their time were some of the best. There is better microphone quality with 700s & 4s but the 700s would be cheaper than the XM4s in-store, the 700s seems to be what I am leaning towards now. But it may change knowing the performance difference in Audio between the 3s and 700s. I guess I'll try to wear them in-person and decide then. Thanks anyways. 👍👍
YOU think Bose are the pioneers on sound technology??? BOSE?!?! 😂😂😂😂😂 Go check out ACTUAL Audiophile companies like Sennheiser, Bang & Olufsen, Beyerdynamic, V-Moda, Bowers & Wilkins, Audeze, Shure, Audio Technica, etc.
For my use i don't think there's enough here for it to be a worthy upgrade from the mk3. However i know persons that will greatly appreciate the multi point pairing , improved mic and the auto pause functionality. Not to mention i also find the mk4 to have a "clearer" overall sound with better vocal representation since they lowered the mid bass hump that the mk3's had. To compare, the stock mk4 sounds like a better version of the mk3's bright eq preset with a but more bass and clarity.
Yes. Multi device connection is subjective to a lot of people. I personally waited for the xm4 for this feature. Need to be connected to my work laptop and phone simultaneously. But still not every other person wants that.
Why you are so awesome, thank you great effort. BTW I sold my bose nc700 and bose qc 35 ii. Finally i bought sony m4 but i have still not received it. Bose qc 35 ii is the most comfortable and in my opinion better than nc700 in terms of overall usability but nc700 better in term of call quality.
You can turn on and off speak to chat by holding the right ear cup. Personally I don’t use it I just press the button to toggle between the ANC, ambient sound, and off. The 700’s was a step into the future in design and 🎤 quality. However, the Sony went with a tried and true design they know is comfortable plus with the custom EQ is too powerful of a combo as well as faster charging and more battery life. I’m not hating on the Bose 700 it’s just the price needed to be the same or lower then the XM4s
Honestly at this point comfort trumps audio quality for wireless cans, if I want good sound I use my wired headphones. The Sony WH don’t sound that much better than Bose for me to trade in comfort on long flights.
There are 84 YouTub videos comparing SONY to BOSE 77 of the 84 say SONY WH-1000XM4 are the BEST ANC Bluetooth wireless head phone on the market . Thats roughly 93% .
Uhh no the Bose qc35 2 look way cleaner then all of them especially if u customize the color tbh he chose the ugliest color and the Sony makes u look like an alien
Please Am not English man Which one is better Bose qc35 or Bose qc45 or Sony or what? And what is your opinion about soundcore life Q35 Which one is the best highquality of music details .. Help me
In my opinion, the Sonys are the most comfortable. The Bose 700s have higher quality feeling pads, but the Sonys are way softer and since they have less clamping force than the Bose 700s, I find they're easier on the ears. Edit: I have pretty low profile ears. I can't speak for people with bigger ears but for me the Sonys are the best.
Sweet. Second comment. 😁. One thing I'm wondering though... Is the release cycle of the bose series. I wonder if any with more features would come out soon for the 700s. Nice reviews and comparisons. Good channel.
Just 1 day before my 1 month chance to return my boce qc 35 II in amazon, the Sony XM4 just realeased the pre-order! So I did return my bose and I am waiting for my Sony XM4, I hope worth it.
You have alot to look forward to. I selected the M3s after owning the Beats Solo Pro''s and the QC 35 ll. I just purchased the M4s after my M3s were pilfered. M4s are amazing, i love the ok improved call quality and multipoint connectivity for Bluetooth.
Very good review. I still have no idea what “cabin pressure” is as it applies to headphones. Gymcaddy doesn’t define the term and Googling it doesn’t really help. Pressurization as in “altitude pressurization” is describes the calibration air pressure on planes with altitude. Indeed, the Sonys have a setting that optimizes the sound profile for atmospheric pressure. But that is different from how Gymcaddy is using it. It’s his own private metric. Indeed, I have never heard another headphone reviewer use the term. I own two pair of QC35s and get 40 hours of battery life by keeping one charged all the time. That is what I call future proofing. I have owned (very briefly) both the Bose 700s and the Sony XM3.s. The QC35s are more comfortable than both by a long shot. The touch controls are a step backward. They don’t compare to the convenience of physical buttons. To turn the Sonys on, you have to hold down a button for 3 seconds, which I found tedious and inconvenient. On the QC35s, a flick of the rocker switch turns it on. The Sony XM3s made my ears sweat. I have never had that issue w/the Q35s, most likely do to smaller ear-cups and cheap leatherette on the XM4s. Because of the emphasis on the bass, there is probably a greater likelihood of someone experiencing hearing loss or tinnitus with long-term use of the Sonys. I don’t see much point in trying out the XM4s. No matter how many features they add to the XM4s and Bose 700 lines, for me comfort trumps all when accompanied by near state-of-the-art sound and active noise reduction found on the QC-35s. From Bose in a NY Times piece from 2009 about noise cancelling headphones: “Bose’s response: “What you’ve described is something we’ve heard occasionally from some of our customers no more with the QC15 than our other headphones. “The sensation of needing to ‘pop’ your ears is normally caused by a static air-pressure difference across your eardrums something that occurs in an ascending (or descending) airplane. Headphones that reduce more low-frequency sound pressure from surrounding noise (like the QC15 or our Aviation headset) is perceptually similar to the ‘thin’ sound caused by a static air pressure difference. We believe this can explain the sensation of pressure on the ear when none is actually there.” Still this is not cabin pressure.
I don't know what the physics are behind ANC cabin pressure, but essentially it's a feeling of physical fatigue and little breathing room. When your ears get uncomfortable while ANC is turned on, you learn what it's referring to.
I experienced the cabin pressure in the past while using the XM2s. I don't think it happens to everyone's ears, but for me, there's this uneasy feeling similar to that of which a plane is increasing in altitude. And on top of that, it also makes me sweat a lot around my ears.
Got QC35II. The worst feeling of “air pressure” is when a train is entering a narrow tunnel in full speed. Then these headphones are creating some strange waves and my ears start to hurt to the point I have to turn off the ANC.
I got the XM4 & they overheated my phone (Galaxy A51) & they also stutter and skipping audio. Tried turning off both devices & restarting, factory resetting the headphones, changing codec, doing stable connection, clearing cache on Bluetooth, basically everything under the moon. Im so pissed! When the sound was working properly it was great sound. Not putting up w bullshit tho for dropping $350. Gonna go exchange them for Bose QC35 tomorrow
I love my sonys over my Bose so much, i turn the base down, but I prefer the over clarity of the sonys and the sonys vs the Bose with a tidal master is much better and Bose makes my tenitius worse than any other pair of noise canceling headphones
i got the Bose 700 simply because the Sonys are too bulky. i know the company who makes good truly wireless buds could have made slimmer cans than XM3/XM4 instead they kept the design the same. sorry Sony but i'm not paying $350 for a mild refresh of an old design. Bose 700 is a ground-up complete redesign and that's why to me they deserve our money. not telling anybody what to get of course.
The Bose 700 have deal breaker "feature" unable to disable of auto-shutoff if they don't detect movement after x minutes such as sleeping or meditating with them. Dealbreaker. How about the QC45 for sound quality? Vs B&W PX7 or Sony XM4 or XM3?
Oh I like my pair of Bose quietcomfort 35 II what I bought used for 30€. Best headphones in the house. But anyway the buttons are really nice to have, just because you can feel it when you pressed, compared swipping it usually leaves some uncensores. Micro USB would be nice thing if it was USB c, but I really don't mind it to be just because I have couple of other devices that use still micro USB. So to me it is a connector that I still use.
Still rocking WH1000XM3's and WF1000XM3's after returning my QC35II's. Way too much cabin pressure in those ones. All this complimented by Beyerdynamic DT 990 pro headphones when I need to actually care about the audio quality.
the performances are almost at the same level between Bose 700 and Sony WH-1000XM4, but Bose is a bit more higher. So for me I'll choose Sony over Bose. Thanks
Also here’s what I don’t get, if Bose can cancel out so much background noise on their NC 700s, how come they can’t block out that same amount for their ANC?
Voice isolation is achieved by detecting the source of the audio and only relaying to the other person what it detects as your voice. Hypothetically, the headphones could not even have ANC, and they could still sound great on the other end because the headphones are only sending the audio that's registered as your voice. It's the mics that achieve that result, not the ANC. But ANC does help with hearing your own voice, as you hear less of your environment. That's my understanding.
Amazing video as always! I am stuck between the xm4s and the nc 700s. The Sony’s are almost 120$ more than the Boses here in Europe and I don’t know if they are worth the extra money
Jules Soliman They probably are worth it, but I will probably wait another month for stock to not be an issue and for their price to hopefully drop. I tried on the Boses and XM3s at my local mall and I didn’t see so much of a difference ANC wise. Fit was ok for both as I have a normal sized head and ears. Probably gonna save up for the XM4s

Bose: comfort
Sony: sound quality
Noise cancellation level: about the same. But Sony is slightly better.
My opinion is different from this video, so I am posting my user experience.
P.S. I almost forgot. After 1 year of use, Bose padding looks like it's going to wear out in near future. But still better in comfort.
I think its a preference thing. I find my xm3 to be super comfortable
Which one has less sound leakage? I heard the Sonys have it worst.
@@joshuam3903 I haven't heard anything from people around me. I don't think Sony is any worse than Bose headphones. My wife is super sensitive about lights and sounds at night. But she never complained about the sound leakage.

Thank you so much, that was bugging me for a while haha
Brilliant. Thanks!
Did Sony fix holding 1 second for speak to chat?
That's awesome so impressed with these headphones. Any other tips would be amazing!!!
P.S. Just got these today... The cabin pressure is perfect, and the fit is surprisingly adjustable... even on my tiny head!!!! I didn't even know tech this advanced existed. Anyone else in the market... Goes without saying these are some the best headphones ever... especially for ANC
Also in the app, we can adjust the sensitivity of Speak to chat, so that if you are watching or listening to funny content it won't instantly be turn on because you laugh.
Maybe its me but the QC 35 2 sounded better than the other two in the ANC cafe situation. Even the sound meter showed it being the best.
Absolutely.

Honestly the QC35 II are impressive. They are quite old by now and still stand up to current models
you are right man. after sending back to Amazon the XM4 (horrible experience of heating, headaches and bleeding ears because of basses, even with EQ adjustments) I have bought the QC35 II. They are not the best in nothing (apart for the comfort, in my opinion) but the balanced mixture of features (ANC power, battery life etc.) and a natural (I dare to say flat) sound, makes me love them. In addition they are very portable, compared to the NC700.
Great Review. The mic comparison bit was really impressive. This channel should definitely have more subs and views. Great job!!!👍
i had the xm3s previously and they were extremely uncomfortable, my ears got hot and i couldn’t wear for more than 15 minutes, the bose qc 35 ii are much more comfortable and seem more comfortable
President Obama, you always tell the truth.
Exactly. I sold my XM's 3 due to that and bought QC 25. They are like pillows!
What a great comparison video! I impulse-bought the QC35 headphones yesterday and started beating myself up for not trying anything else. After watching this, I think I’ll go back to try out the NC700s. Thanks for the content!
And? Which one’s did you end up keeping?
Bose about to drop the QC45
Such an underrated channel. Good job!
Man, I just have to tell you, this is a very good and infomative test, thank you so much. You are awesome.
Do they have this sound out of the box? Or you have to tinker with the EQ to get this experience?
@KevinGoldLVL Out of the box. Be wary though that the call quality is awful on the XM4 so I've now sold them and use the Bose NC700
The Bose cannot sign into multiple devices? Is it only Sony switching to your mobile when a call is coming in?
@@andreasluka of course it can. Its a headphone. You can plug it into anything.
My two bits:
1) Sound: Marginally (very marginal) better sound quality on Sonys. I had to swap between Sony and Bose multiple times to notice the difference. Yes, the equaliser can change the base and all that on Sonys
2) NC: not the best with Sonys, I could still hear cars/people talking and sounds in general. Also, I got the weird feeling that they vacuum my brain somehow and i could feel kind of dizzy. really weird and difficult to explain the feeling. No such a feeling on Bose and NC was working like a charm with Bose.
3) Comfortability: Specifically to my ears, Sonys felt more uncomfortable than the Bose, over long time of listening over runs/walks/workouts
4) Sonys definitely have more features and customisation than Bose.
Hi.
But why many people say that NC is better on songs, specially on voices ?
I could hear the vacuum/sucking sound you are talking about on the Sony. Thanks for your comment.
Thank you but Which Bose are you talking about
No my friend, maybe you have brain troubles, or problems of hearing because I gave compared the two devices, and if you want better ANC, then go with Bose, but if you want quality sound go with Sony xm4, I prefer Sony.
The bass for jazz is like if comes from a sealed box, but if you music has 20 Hz, the bass is like from a ported box.
Sony gives a hissing sound. Bose doesnt. Hissing is a problem with most NC phones.

Wonderful review! Brilliant wording when it comes to sound quality and what people are looking for especially in music!
I love my qc35 and I tried the 700s at a store. I found the 700s more comfortable and the music sounded much better but it might be that for my head the 700s fit better to create a better deal.
Iirc rtings rated the QC35 better than the 700 on sound and rater it more comfortable too, but head and ear shape is pretty important for both, yeah.

Thanks.
Soundstage? You mean texture, as the qc35ii Soundstage is not great.
This is such a great and in depth comparison. Exactly the video I need to help my indecisiveness. Very well edited and out together video too
Watching this with my Sony 1000xm3's.
XM3’s ANC beat 700’s on the tests... More validation to keep the XM3’s however I really really would like multipoint... Be safe friends...
Sony just got an update for calls, check it out.
Agreed. Though, the Bose do have slightly better noise cancellation, and, without adjusting the Sony EQ, the Bose have better sounding vocals. Ultimately the Sonys are my favourite, however I can imagine why some people would prefer the Bose.
In noise cancellation? Sorry to burst your bubble, but i have to disagree.
@@guitaradam2000 yes low, but not high. Sorry, i might have misread.
Depends on how you set it up. XM3s ambient sound is superior than 700s for me.

You can turn on/off speak to chat by holding 2 fingers on the touchpad for a couple seconds
I need a headphone just for ANC so that I can concentrate on my work; to block out all the chatter in the office.

Thank you for doing ANC comparisons so we can actually experience it.
Btw Gymcaddy I own the 700s and if you SLOWLY slide your finger up or down the touchpad then the volume will keep changing.
Honestly at this point comfort trumps audio quality for wireless cans, if I want good sound I use my wired headphones. The Sony WH don’t sound that much better than Bose for me to trade in comfort on long flights.

Greetings from Copenhagen Denmark🇩🇰
Bose NC don’t look nice when worn in my opinion. The Sony’s are more simplistic look in my opinion which I like.
user name My brother 🙌🏼....700 design is just too overrated
Uhh no the Bose qc35 2 look way cleaner then all of them especially if u customize the color tbh he chose the ugliest color and the Sony makes u look like an alien

Which one is better
Bose qc35 or Bose qc45 or Sony or what?
And what is your opinion about soundcore life Q35
Which one is the best highquality of music details ..
Help me
In my opinion, the Sonys are the most comfortable. The Bose 700s have higher quality feeling pads, but the Sonys are way softer and since they have less clamping force than the Bose 700s, I find they're easier on the ears.
Edit: I have pretty low profile ears. I can't speak for people with bigger ears but for me the Sonys are the best.
the qc-35 are wayyyyyyyy more comfortable than both, it’s not even close
@@andremartinez6417 I haven't tried the QC35. What are they like?
Very detailed review, thx again ! BTW, I am happy with my Sony XM3 😊
Thank you for the "fit" section. I absolutely need a headphone that doesn't touch my ears at all. Gonna look into the Bose.
Sweet. Second comment. 😁. One thing I'm wondering though... Is the release cycle of the bose series. I wonder if any with more features would come out soon for the 700s. Nice reviews and comparisons. Good channel.
Afridon Dyer Bose has a weird cycle, remember the 700 aren’t a replacement for the QC35ii
@@JPL-md hows the confort compared to bose qc35?
Then these headphones are creating some strange waves and my ears start to hurt to the point I have to turn off the ANC.
i like how you used a meter when comparing the ANC... just curious how you did that? .. did you have something set up in your ear or something?
A lav mic in the ear cup while he's wearing them.
Wow,the quiality of this video is amazing, excellent and real, congratulations
Guys I love my QC 35 because it's so comfy for long use. Will the 700 or M4 have the same comfort for long flights?
How‘s the sound quality and noise cancellation
What is the cabin pressure? Is that dangerous?
@@AJ-iu6nw It's just a feeling of discomfort, the sort of feeling you get when you're in a plane that's taking off.
Thankyou for being the ONLY honest person about the stupid mics on the Shithouse sonys. I was so heartbroken with mine.
Great mic test on this! Excellent work man
I still don’t know if you like the Sony or the Bose better, can you tell me which one you like the most. Thanks
the performances are almost at the same level between Bose 700 and Sony WH-1000XM4, but Bose is a bit more higher.
They are. The XM3s are better than the 700s imo. so you can imagine the XM4.
Update, I ordered the XM4s for 300€, I think it’s a good price

Hi I am very much sold on the Sony due to your comment of movie emersion from the bass. What I would like to know is would you recommend any better headphone for watching movies?
